   REVIEWING NEW FORMULA

   I used to wear Double Wear until 5 years ago, I started using other brands.

   Last week I decided to go back to Double Wear as I had a lot of redness to cover.

   Omg – what have they done??? NO pigmentation, literally nothing, it’s watery and has no staying power, it separates under Advanced Night Repair serum too, which it never did before.

   I kept having to pour out more and more product, it just wouldn’t cover. So in the end I let two layers dry, then put a bronzer over it, it looked half decent after that.

   I am horrified this product has changed so much and sadly will now have to spend a long time trying find something that was remotely like the original. Even the concealer is nothing like the original!

   I received a free sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear in 1N1 Ivory Nude which matches me pretty well but still looks ghostly on me. I currently use Lancome Teint Idole Ultra in 140 Ivory N and that matches perfectly and doesn’t make look ghostly for some reason. With Double Wear I have to use a light dusting of bronzer and a lot blush to help not make it look so pasty and to even out my face.

   Pros:
   -High medium to full coverage.
   -Makes you skin look flawless after application.
   -Doesn’t oxidize
   -Good staying power.

   Cons:
   -Smells like paint.
   -Difficult to blend well because it dries very quickly.
   -Caked and cracked a bit around my nose and mouth even with a good primer.
   -Feels slightly heavier than Teint Idole.
   -Looks unnatural, like you wearing heavy powdery stage makeup or paint.

   I still love and prefer the Lancome foundation though because it does none of the cons listed and has medium to full coverage that still looks natural and never gets cakey or powdery compared to Double Wear. I probably will never purchase the full size bottle of Double Wear

   THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE REFORMULATED FOUNDATION (2017 and onward):

   I really don’t like this foundation. I was so excited to try it due to the raving reviews (not realizing it was reformulated. My skin type is combination, acne prone, sensitive, and prone to dehydration. I wanted a foundation that would smooth out my skin and give it that flawless finish, but this did the opposite. It felt like a mask on my skin and accentuated any texture and pores on my face. It looks heavy and thick like you’re wearing makeup. I applied my moisturizer first and it felt wet on top of my moisturizer and I set it with a powder to finally get it to dry and look a little smoother. The color is okay, but I’m fair with yellow undertones and it’s a little too yellow and makes me look a little ill. Definitely don’t recommend.

   Pros
   -Stays on face perfectly even without primer
   -No need to set face with powder
   -The only foundation that stays on my nose throughout the day!
   -No touch up needed— lasted all day!
   -A little goes a long way, my bottle lasts for almost a year and I used it everyday????

   Cons
   -The price is too high
   -Too matte, need to wear bronzer or highlighter to stabilised my skin
   -Looks like wearing makeup
   -Once it sets, you can feel a slight tightness on your face which is uncomfortable for some people like my mom, as for me I’m okay with it
   -Flashback :/ (because it contains spf)
   -Oxidise a liiiiiiiiitle bit after 4-5 hours
   -Caused small bumps on my skin ://

   A very good foundation for special events, not for everyday use. However I used it everyday because I wanted to try other foundation but this small tube lasted so long on my shelf????

   They changed the formula and added an ingredient that causes acne. I’ve been using this foundation for years and can no longer wear it.

   Hello!
   I have been using estee lauder double wear at least 8years! Ever since speculation over a new formula I have began to break out and experienced extreme pain around the eye area particularly eyelashes and stinging eyes ! After stopping wearing my makeup i have had some relief!! Has anyone else had a similar experience recently??

   This has to be one of my favourite foundations. As I’m an oily gal, I need a foundation that can stay put all day. This one is perfect for oily skins but you need to use the right primer. The wrong primer will ruin any good foundation. I will be repurchasing as I have not found another foundation that can stay put.

   I have really dry skin so I apply this once I’ve prepped my skin with lots of moisturising cream. A little goes a long way and it’s medium to full coverage. No horrible smell like those mac foundations. This is similar to the nars foundation (my HG), it gives a a lovely dewy finish.

   I have very oily sensitive acne prone skin and this is another foundation that broke me out so bad Im not even bother to try their new formula. I am not sure which ingredient caused this which haunts me til this day but I guess it was the one with sulfate-ending PLUS it is sooooo cakey, even on my oily skin. Nothing close to “looking natural” when I put this on. I’m glad it turned out to be HG for some people but you have to be very very lucky to not breaking out using this.

    Maybe the best foundation for all skin types except very dry.This foundation need suitable silicone primer το “write” raigh otherwise bame easy caky and looks heavy.I use Nyx pore filler primer …this silikones create the ideal canva for easy smooth application ever under the eyes.
    The color shades of double wear are the best you can find for the human skin lol.

    I have Fitzpatrick 2 and I use 2c3 fresco in winter.3c2 pebble and 4c3 soft tan in summer. Also combinations. These shaver are cool / rosy.maybe turn ashy sometimes but I don’t like orange …yellow etc from the N and W line for no reason
