Super moisturizing. Don’t need to mix with a Moisturizer. Sometimes I’ll just layer it over retinol or AHA product. I’ve reacted to other facial oils, but not this one. I’ve used this oil for years and will continue to repurchase.

I have eczema prone skin that is sensitive and allergic to parabens. Additionally I have a lot of dryness and currently live in a cold, windy climate. I was really hoping that this product would help me, given the positive reviews and that Paula’s Choice is a well-respected brand. However – and this is the part that really confuses me – it seems to be drying my skin even more instead of “moisture boosting”. This problem is particularly apparent on my forehead, where the skin becomes so dry that when I attempt to frown (a natural facial reaction to match disappointment) my skin feels tight and uncomfortable.
The only advantage this product has is that it’s light-weight and not very greasy, so for people who have normal to slightly oily skin, this product may work well.

The reviews below are correct: this is a fairly simple oil blends you can create yourself if you like.
That being said, I received this as a free sample and was skeptical to try because I do get pimples from products that are too thick (I normally have combo skin).
However, I took the risk and loved it! My skin is super soft and not greasy feeling, one drop is plenty. It has not made me breakout and works well under sunscreen too.
I would buy again if on sale, love the packaging. I have limited space in my home so I prefer not to have to blend my own oils but I do think you could create something very similar at a much cheaper price

I just love oil moisturizers – creams almost always break me out. I use this as a stand alone product, not as a booster for another moisturizer. It absorbs beautifully and leaves my skin plump and glowing, just as most oil moisturizers do. I’m not certain that I would repurchase just because this doesn’t seem to do anything extra for me that other oil moisturizers, or even just plain jojoba, don’t do already (for less money).

I have been a fan of Paula’s Choice for many years, and this is a great product. It is far superior to beauty oils from the drugstore, which are predominantly mineral oil.
Like with all products, I suggest you read the ingredients label. This oil blend is predominantly jojoba oil (which is really a wax), safflower oil, and apricot kernel oil. Jojoba waxy esters are supposed to be very similar to skin’s natural “oils.” The last two oils have a nice texture and are non-comodegenic because they are high linoleic oils, i.e. polyunsaturated oils (as is grapeseed). Great stuff. Olive oil is high oleic oil, so it has a thicker feel, and is more shelf stable than the polyunsaturated oils.
As much as I love the Paula’s Choice brand, go grab yourself some jojoba oil, and Now apricot oil, or some organic safflower oil from Whole Foods for under $10 and compare. (Spectrum’s safflower is high oleic, so it feels thicker like olive oil, so get a different brand for your face and eat the one by Spectrum. You can tell a polyunsaturated oil by how water-like it swishes in the bottle.)
But, this is still a lovely product, and you can get a sample size of it to compare with other face oils. Check out my Notepad for a free $10 off Paula’s Choice.

I’m so happy I decided to buy this oil because I really wanted that extra hydration that an oil gives for night time but oils usually break me out but not this one. My face has never been softer and it just looks and feels healthier and smoother.I also add the resist hyaluronic acid booster for added lightweight hydration and I’m in love with the results. So excited I found this oil and will definitely continue to buy!

My skin loves this oil! I have very dry, sensitive (rosacea/eczema) skin, and this is one of the very few that doesn’t immediately cause a reaction. I don’t use it as a standalone product, but add it to skin creams and sunscreens to add extra moisture. And the dropper is perfect for dispensing the precise amount without overdoing it.

I’ve had this for awhile. I’ve tried a number of different facial oils; as I have very sensitive skin, I often react to products that no one else does. Additionally, I must avoid all essential (fragrant) oils; even some stronger non-fragrant oils cause me problems. For the record, I’ve recently been able to tolerate adding plain borage oil (from capsules I also use internally) to various moisturizers. I just got some tamanu oil and have been very cautiously incorporating that into my skincare. I must be very careful with rose hip and sea buckthorn, not sure why; cannot tolerate neem.
So, with my dry skin I’d been having problems with foundation getting cakey on dry patches, then I came across Wayne Goss’ recommendation to mix a drop of oil in the foundation. I was “sure” it would be a hot mess…but dang it, it works! He uses the PC oil and since I already had it on hand, that’s what I use too. Strangely, it doesn’t make the foundation oily or greasy at all, just a tad more dewy.
I agree that this seems pricey. However, I see people spending $25 on an eye pencil without blinking, more than that for a blush….isn’t your skin the most important? And if my skin would tolerate “plain” less expensive oils, I would use them; have been using the borage oil. I do seem to do better adding this–and other oils–to another product, such as moisturizer or foundation, than in applying directly to my skin. Not sure why, just an observation. Oh, and I’ve recently become a convert to applying moisturizer to damp skin, preferably spray spring water (Avene Thermal or Evian); really seems to help lock that moisture in. I also apply coconut oil to my body without toweling off.

I replaced my Tarte Maracuja Oil with this product. I purchased this in the trial size and it will take me quite a while to get through it. I mix 1-2 drops of this with my Clinique Moisture Surge Intense at night for a very hydrating night cream. I find it less oily than the Tarte and it sinks in better.
I have normal to dry (sometimes very dry/dehydrated) skin. I’m also using retinol 2x’s a week right now and this is perfect to use after applying retinol. I haven’t had any irritation at all. If my skin is dry in the mornings, I mix one drop with Moisture Surge and it’s perfect. I don’t ever feel oily and it doesn’t interfere with my makeup application or longevity that I’ve noticed.
I will definitely repurchase, but most likely in the trial size again, as it’s perfect for travel and a little goes a long way.

This is a good product if your skin is dried out from winter wind, central heating etc. If not, you probably don’t need this. I’ve used a “deluxe sample” which does go a long way as you only need a drop at a time. I put it on my cheeks and forehead which suffered most, either before or after moisturiser (not alone). I’ve only used at night. It’s effective, and importantly does not irritate. (I recently suffered an allergic reaction to a natural cosmetics brand’s oil cleanser, so I’m careful about plant and essential oils.)
