i like this HA for non winter months. winter i would use NIOD as it is more hydrating. this one is a good price point and has enough hydration for me and works better than the Ordinary ones.

Time for some honesty: I only bought this in a last minute HAUL when Brandon tried to shut DECIEM down. Would I have tried it in time? Yes. Was I totally excited for it? No, not really. I have oils and other things I use if I want hydration, but my skin has been feeling a bit drier recently. I’ve only used this 2 or 3 times but I feel compelled to say something. I realize that is extremely early for any “review”,
PROS: It does plump up the skin and it does it in a way that looks SO good. Like, this is an extreme exaggeration, but to make my point, compare the skin of a rock bottom junkie to a well adjusted, healthy individual who is moving up in the world. The healthy person’s skin should look more “plush” and not to mention “clean” overall, almost like it’s more expensive. And that’s what it does to my skin. It plumps it in a way that makes me look younger and “cleaner”. I know it sounds insane, but that is the effect, it’s like it gives me a little of that glow/plumpness that I see when I first wake up but disappears throughout the day. I also don’t think it would break me out at all, hell since I’ve used it, my skin looks actually more clear.
CONS: Not hydrating in the least… I guess this could be a pro for me though. I have normal to dry skin, but a lot of products just sit on top of it and can take a long time to absorb. This, not at all, in fact I found my skin to feel noticeably drier when I incorporated this, drier in the sense of “things actually set this time” and “my skin feels drier” though, it’s a mixed bag.
OVERALL: I’m really surprised. I didn’t expect pretty much anything from this, it was just another product in a long line of things I wanted to try because let’s face it, a lot of us are chasing unreasonable perfection or expectations in one way or another… but now I’m starting to think that this could be what I was missing all along. In terms of “If you ran out or lost this product would you buy it again?” I’m going to say yes, but if other hyaluronic serums are like this, then that’d be a no for me. Korean hyaluronic acid products are much cheaper and for $2 more you can get Hylamide Sub-Q, which includes a BUNCH of extra ingredients as well as doubling as a HA serum. I tried that last year and found it to be “meh”, though I did remember having good skin last year (however my circumstances and routine were much different) so I will revisit that. I guess what I’m saying is that this works great, but I’m not sure if it’s a great value. It is better than The Ordinary’s HA offering though. That product is sticky.

Nice resoults on skin overall aspect and texture, but didn’t
exatcly enjoyed the slightly tacky texture, plus skin got a little irritated on the undereyes and other sensitive areas of my face. Extra points for not breaking me out. Might be buying this product again sometime but will probably research and try a few other brands and formulations first.

This is my new favorite hyaluronic acid serum. I had been using products by Paula’s Choice and Hada Labo before this with decent to good results, but my skin never did feel as nice as it does now.
It has a very faint yeast-like scent but is not offensive at all IMO, and after weeks of use I don’t even notice it anymore. I use 3 drops at night after applying a peptide serum (The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA). It is a bit sticky even after layering moisturizer on top, but it doesn’t bother me and the results are definitely worth it – my skin feels so soft and velvety now! My skin doesn’t tolerate anything more than small amounts of moisturizer, so this is perfect for adding hydration without the heaviness. Will definitely repurchase.
SIMILAR PRODUCTS: If this breaks you out, you might want to try a sample of Paula’s Choice CALM Redness Relief Repairing Serum. Hyaluronic acid is the 3rd ingredient on the list, and I found it did a much better job of hydrating my skin than the other HA product I tested, Hada Labo’s Gokujyun Lotion.
Paula’s Choice also has a Hyaluronic Acid Booster that contains 2 kinds of HA plus yeast extract, which makes it more similar to this product than the CALM serum. However, there doesn’t appear to be a sample size available.
If you are looking for a more lightweight alternative, try The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics, which contains ingredients that work much like HA does (attract and hold water). It absorbs much more quickly than the Hylamide booster, but some may find the cheese-like scent off-putting.

Perhaps dedicated hyaluronic acid serums simply aren’t my thing but I felt underwhelmed by this. Compared to The Ordinary’s HA 2% + B5, this is the superior product. Glides easier than The Ordinary’s, less sticky. The packaging is also pretty pleasing to the eye. But still, I found this product overpriced and not as cosmetically elegant as it could be. While more pleasant to use than the equivalent product from its sister brand, it was STILL uncomfortably tacky. Any attempt at applying a subsequent serum or oil was met with significant pilling. To minimise this, I had to pat the product in awkwardly. It’s also quite thick while not being very spreadable so you will run out fast.
It doesn’t get a 1 because I did find it hydrating and refreshing to use, as per any decent HA serum but having used products like Indeed Labs Hydraluron and the Hada Labo Gokujyun (the latter of which offers you much more product for a lower price) which don’t have such a tacky finish that interferes with subsequent products, I can’t rate this higher.

Having used The Ordinary HA serum I’ve found this a more concentrated version. It is less watery than HA + B5 and it is more spreadable. When applied alone, it doesn’t pull my face like HA + B5 and I really do feel like it does a better job in moisturizing my face. Definitely needs a cream to cover on top of it, do not use it alone.
I’ve also tried adding this into my rosewater toner and find that my toner now takes longer to dry and have a slight tacky feel to it which I do not hate; after my toner has dried, my face feels rather moisturized (my toner contains alcohol and before I added this it dries my face if I don’t follow up with a serum and cream). I can now use my toner alone to moisturize throughout the day without worrying that I’d have to put on another layer of product.
However might be due to that I do not have ultra dry skin right now like I do in winter, I did not see a dramatic results from using it. Will update if I find anything.

Absorbs well, with no residue and no piling even under foundation, and no bad skin reaction. Fits well in my routine, seems to leave my skin smooth and hydrated – I cannot vouch for long-term effects but I am happy with it.
Edit: In the meanwhile, I have been using NIOD MMHC, which I slightly prefer as it feels as if it penetrates deeper – but i may well alternate between both products.

This made my skin red and flakiy in areas. It shouldn’t surprize me. Try though I might, every product from this company mase my skin either red, dry, flaky, over sensitized or, most often all three. I tried 5 products and had the same reaction.

This left my skin with red dry patches which weren’t there before I started using it. It was as if it created a barrier to my moisturiser preventing it from working. I couldn’t even finish the bottle

Love this. My skin is quite dehydrated and this works so much better than some other hyaluronic acid serums that cost more than triple the price (Skinceuticals. I’m never buying that again). This sinks into the skin flawlessly and leaves such a smooth, silky comfortable finish. I’m not sure why a reviewer said this was sticky – it is far from it. Works super well with other products too. I layer on Dr Jart’s Ceramidin cream over and my skin is baby soft in the morning. Will definitely repurchase if the Niod MMHC doesn’t win this 😉
