   I have used this three times- twice after my usual nighttime routine (oil cleanser, foaming cleanser, chemical exfoliant, and sheet mask) and before moisturizer, and once after just cleanser. I tried to give it a fair chance, using it with different products. For reference, I have dry skin that is not sensitive. My cheeks are often flushed after removing makeup and cleansing, and I have some redness in the morning that is difficult to cover up with makeup. I was hoping this would help to reduce that redness, but it did the opposite.

   Within seconds of applying this, my skin becomes bright red and has a painful tingling/ burning sensation. I have only had one other product cause such a reaction- the retinol & antioxidant serum, also from Paula’s Choice. I can seriously feel my heartbeat in my face after applying this and my whole face is red, not just my cheeks. For being an anti-redness product, I can’t believe how harsh it feels on the skin. Another thing? This smells HORRIBLE. I’m not sensitive to scents, but this kind of smells like pee. Considering how irritating this is already, I don’t think some fragrance would hurt to cover up the gross smell.

   I got this as a sample with some other Paula’s Choice products. Thank goodness for sample…
   bit of background on my facial conditions: I naturally have rosacea with dry skin all over with my T-zone being oily/normal. Unfortunately, I have hormonally-induced facial hair growth on my neck, chin, and side burns area which I shave very carefully. The careful shaving always causes irritation and redness but both go away after five to ten minutes, once I’ve moisturized and given it some time.
   I thought this product would be perfect for me since it’s not only for redness but also advertises it’s usefulness for after shaving. Not only did I place it on the shaved areas but also on my always naturally-blushed due to the rosacea cheeks.
   I’ve tried it for a week and a half and it has gotten SO BAD. It has increased the redness both on my neck and on my cheeks plus my after-shaving bumps are huge and extremely irritated; to the point where even after applying moisturizer and my full coverage foundation it still showed very red and extremely irritated everywhere.
   I wanted to love this product and hoped with all my might that it would help me…it did not. at all.
   I don’t ever write any reviews for anything but this made me so sad and self conscious and upset, I felt I needed to write the reviews in hopes of helping someone out there with a similar problem from making my same mistake.

   Although I will not be buying this product ever, I will continue to use some other Paula’s choice products that I am in love with. Hopefully their next samples will be better.

   I really like the fact that you can order samples from Paula’s choice.
   This product just didn’t work, instead it stung.
   Really ‘nice’ suprise because I had an allergic reaction. (Something with friends and their love of organic facecream, that contained Lavender) this didn’t calmed my redness down instead I ended up with a glorious red face and People asking if I had a sunburn
