Tl;dr:
– very effective
– helps with clogged pores and texture, can prevent inflammations
– it tingles, so maybe use the 10 AHA version if you are new to this or have sensitivity
– good value for price
The best AHA product I have found so far. I had 10 AHA version before, and it worked well too. After that, I tried other brands, but nothing worked as well, and I literally needed a step up in efficiency, so recently I got it in 15 strength.
Don’t be afraid to use it even if you don’t have the concerns listed in the product description (but of course only use if you need it!). My skin is normal/dehydrated, prone to spot hyperpigmentation due to blemishes. I toned down my hormonal breakouts with good vitamins and supplements (if you are active, sports vitamins are good value with big amounts of ingredients, make sure to have zinc, iodine, resveratrol, and the basics). Avoiding processed sugar also helps me dramatically, the swelling goes down so much faster, so I have to stick to sundries and fruit (I don’t like them much but I have no choice, haha).
However, my skin is very tough (i.e. hard to break, I don’t know what words to use) though it looks thin and transparent. This makes it easy to have my pores clogged without even noticing. On top of that, I have rather high chemical sensitivity and touch my face unconsciously (I have anxiety). As a result, all these clogged pores and impurities trapped under the skin can get inflamed in hours. Then I have regular pimples (hormonal one can’t be extracted since they are mostly swelling, these ones have an obvious center of the inflammation and they try to get rid of it, if it makes sense). So you can see how important it is for me to exfoliate effectively: it can break the vicious circle.
This product is really potent. I can see the change in texture right the next day. It tingles, so I used to be scared of using stronger AHA, but now I know I have to do this to prevent bigger issues. My skin becomes so soft, clear and even. It is a little drying, but that’s a property of AHA. But your skin is exfoliated and ready to absorb skincare. This lotion is also effective for keratosis pilaris on my arms and thighs. A tube of this can last up to a year for me, so I’m content with the value. I like that it doesn’t have fragrance, and the packaging is simple. For my skin it is the only real game-changer. I use retinol, vit C etc. treatments, and they are a must for sure, but they only help maintain the condition, while this product really changes it. I’m the person who has to use AHA, and I highly recommend it if you have similar concerns.

I actually use the face cream version of this. Up until I hit my 30’s I didn’t take care of my skin like I should have which caused ALOT of texture and dryness. I read a review of this on here several years ago and thought I’d try it. I started slowly and worked my way up to using every night. It works. It REALLY works. My skin has become much, much smoother and the dullness is gone. Yay! It is rather pricey so what I do is buy a large amount of the sample size on ebay. It saves me money and I like the fact that the sample sachets stay fresh. I highly recommend this to those who have texture, dullness, scarring or are just looking for a nice “glow.”

Very good stuff for my sun damaged skin.
I also used it for my face

This stuff is fantastic. I was thisclose to considering Botox, but after just FOUR nights of use the fine lines on my forehead and crows feet are so diminished that I feel no need to head to the doc. My skin feels like a baby’s. I wish I had taken before and after pics.
I decided to try this lotion for two main reasons: a) my skin was sooo dry from winter weather and heavy creams were just giving me an acne flare-up, but no relief b) I have been on-on-off trying retinols for years and I am constantly giving up on them because they just irritate the heck out of me.
In addition to my face, I’m using this on my chest, upper arms and back. My upper arms are already much smoother. My back is, I think, “purging”. I will update in a couple of weeks.
I wish AHAs had the long-term collagen-boosting rep that retinols do, but I definitely can’t complain about what they do for the look of my skin!

I got this product because I was looking to invest in a good product that can provide my face with optimum cell renewal. Normally, this product is sold through dermatologist offices. However, I was able to purchase it through Skinwest at a very good price. This product gives my face a wonderful glow, my skin looks so smooth, and it has made my skintone become more evened out overall as well. It is also good keeping the face blemish free the longer you use it. As, it keep the pores relatively clear and clogged free. And, it helps with refining pores as well.
I do not use this everyday on my face. As, even though I am a seasoned vet when it comes to having glycolic peels done on my face, using a high strength of glycolic acid on my face is too much for even my own face. I use the product on my face 2-3 times a week at night only. And, that’s certainly enough for me.
I love this product. And, one 6.8 ounce bottle of this stuff truly does last a very long time. If you are someone that can tolerate glycolic acid on your face, then I definitely recommend picking up this product. As, it truly works wonders for the complexion!!!!

I have use this product back in three years ago when my face is covered with acne. As I don’t have the money to see a dermatologist, I figured out that I could buy the lotions that they would have prescribe in their office – the Neostrata range.
I wasn’t to keen on this lotion at first as it feels slightly ‘heavy’ but I soon learned that it quickly absorbed into the skin. Despite tolerating the initial stinging it really helps to clear up my skin, prevent new outbreaks and fade my older acne mark quicker than it would normally. However, it does leave a creamy film after application and while it is great for winter, it does clog pores in summer. My way to combat this is dust a little silk / pearl/ rice powder to combt this!
PS May tried Neostrata PHA 15 Lotion in the future for a change!

I used Alpha Hydrox oil free for a year and wanted to use higher % of AHA. After reading good reviews here, especially neblina’s, I tried Neostrata lotion. It has been about a month now and I really like it. I have oily skin and this doesn’t make my face oily. I’m not sure because of this AHA or longer winter in DC area, my face is not that much oily as usual. I wanted to try gel but this lotion has double portion, 6.8 oz vs. 3.4oz for gel with alcohol. It costed about $20 from skinstore.com with free shipping. I should have tired this earlier. Only thing I need is a good sun screen. I recently purchased Sofina Perfect UV Nuance up from bobodave.com after reading good reviews here at MUA. I’m Asian with oily skin.

TOTAL HG STUFF!!! I use this only once a week overnight as it is very potent for the skin: it faded my acne scars considerably after every application, got rid of dry patches, improved overall glow and increased moisture BUT MUST APPLY SUNSCREEN DURING DAY AS SKIN IS MORE PRONE TO THE SUN/DISCOLORATION. I honestly cannot live without this (no exaggeration)!

Caution if you are going to try this. After the success of using glycolic products from the Serious Skin Care line, I wanted to experiment with AHA from other lines (I was using SSC for at least eight years and some of the products’ effectiveness have plateaued). Anyway I thought this would be a good try. It wasn’t. This product has caused hyperpigmentation on my skin. I was left with a little brown/grey spot on my face. The spot is comparable to slight burn mark. I am positive it was from this product.

I use this as a lotion for my feet, knees, and elbows. It’s too heavy for my face but is excellent on the dry areas of my body. I paid $21 for it and consider it worth every penny. I would definitely buy this again, and I recommend it to anyone with problem feet.
