I’m not sure when I got my first bottle of this product, maybe early last year? Anyway, I know I started using it in March when the weather here was still raw and wet. I started using it as the first step in my PM skincare routine every other night and really liked it. It played well with all of my other products and by the time warmer weather rolled around, it was great under my sunscreen. It also moisturizes well on its own if you’re not into putting a lot of stuff on your skin.
There’s a slight perfume to this but not much. The product itself is watery with a slight bit of tackyness to it, so it comes out of the bottle without glopping all over the place. The bottle is glass, and while I know some folks like glass when it comes to their skincare products, I’m a wee bit nervous using products in glass bottles because I’m paranoid that I’ll drop it and it’ll shatter all over the place. I wouldn’t travel with it either, I’d decant it into a plastic container first. But I do like the way the bottle feels and it does look elegant sitting on my mundane bathroom sink.
I”d say this is a mid-level price product. I paid [I think] $33 US for a bottle and I’d pay that again. You get quite a bit and it lasts awhile.

I stopped using this product because Sephora no longer stocks it, but it was a great essence. I bought it multiple times and it worked very well with my dry skin, infusing just the right amount of moisture after I’d finished using my toner. It was very light so I never looked greasy and it gave me the dewy look I’m obsessed with. It did a very good job at working with my moisturizer to keep my face hydrated all day.

I would only buy this again after trying other essences. However it is fantastic. I like layering it under moisturizers and/or serums day or night. I find that it keeps my skin from becoming red and flaky from acne medications. I do think that it makes my skin care absorb and perform better. I notice that my skin texture has improved.

I read great reviews on this which made me want to buy it. it isn’t worth it.
smell – strong floral smell which is so offputting. so much that I returned the item.
texture – thicker than your usually toners, which isn’t a bad thing. but it still had a watery consistency.
packaging – nice glass bottle but so risky of breaking. probably cannot travel with it.

Sephora used to sell Raw Sauce for a very short time and at a pretty steep price. I never even had a chance to try it out because my local Sephora only seemed to have it for about 5 minutes! I was at Marshall’s a few weeks ago, having a look through their skincare and cosmetics because you just never know what you’ll find and what do I find but this – a bottle of May Coop Raw Sauce sort of hiding out at the back of the skin care shelf. And the price? $20 (CDN)!!!!! I couldn’t believe it and felt almost furtive clutching it as I walked around, almost certain someone would either grab it out of my hands and try to fight me for it or else a store clerk would tell me that it was wrongly priced and was really $50! Now I want to hit a few more stores to see if I can find another bottle.
I use this pretty much as a toner and essence combined. I really like the design of the bottle – it’s easy and tidy to drip a few drops into the palm of my hand to pat and press into my skin (rather than wasting product on a cotton pad). It seems refreshing and soothing at the same time. If I’m wearing IT CC Cream, I can apply it right after applying the Raw Sauce and letting it dry for a few seconds – no need for a serum or oil or any moisturizer. This is the sort of “toner” that I will even be able to use in winter, when my skin is much drier and more “tender” (blame the Canadian winters!) The packaging is very lovely and luxurious in that typically restrained Asian way, though I do wish the bottle – which looks lovely – was more squat simply because the tall cylinder shape seems more prone to tipping/being knocked over so I do make a point of being careful and trying not to nudge it with my elbow while applying the “sauce”. I don’t know that this is a really necessary product but I was so happy to find it at such a good price and I plan to look around to see if I can find another bottle as I really enjoy using it.

It’s a sample so can’t tell long term effects. However for what is worth, it does on nicely on my skin and the leaves skin feeling supple. The mapletree sap is nicely scented but not overwhelming. Unfortunately I don’t use much off counter skin care now but it does seem pretty nice.

This is a really nice product, and I agree with what some other posters have said it isn’t exactly a necessity either. The bottle is a nice size imo, so you get a lot of product for your money, and it has a really pleasant maple smell as well. I put this on after I use BHA and it gives an extra layer of moisture that I really appreciate since I live in a dry climate. It leaves a subtle dewy look and I feel like it locks in my moisturizer that I apply after the Raw Sauce. I have noticed my skin looking a little more supple than I am used to, I will definitely repurchase.

I have been using this for several weeks and really like it. It smells really nice and it helps to hold moisture in my skin. I also recently started using the activator, which I do not really have an opinion on yet because I use it mixed with other serums so cannot tell a significant difference. I should note that I bought both products online from Costco for much less than other sources. I paid $22 for the raw sauce and $14 for the activator. If you have a Costco membership, definitely check out the health and beauty section of their website for great deals on very good quality products!

I have used May Coop Raw Sauce for some time, and while I can’t say that it is a miracle product, it is definitely a staple for me. I have rosacea, and my dry skin overall is fairly sensitive, and it is also acne-prone. I use Raw Sauce right after cleansing, and I feel that it adds back some of the moisture that I just removed with washing pretty much immediately. It also works as a slight buffer between my poor, reactive skin and the actives that I use. I like the scent, and it always feels very soothing when I pat it on. The packaging is lovely and spa-like, even if it is also heavy and a pain to travel with. The biggest change that I have noticed in my skin while using Raw Sauce is that it is a little more moisturized and smooth. I will continue to use this awesome tree water on my face as long as I can get it, because the benefits are totally worth it for me.

It’s a nice product but totally a luxury and I don’t think it’s necessary. It makes my skin look fresh and dewy, and during the summer when I’m at my oiliest, it nice and hydration but not heavy like a cream. It smells amazing and makes me look plump and all but the results are mostly temporary I believe.
