I had been trying to get my hands on this sunscreen but was told it was undergoing “re-packaging” by the SA at the store. Luckily I was able to find it on well.ca at 1/3rd the price so it cost me less than $4 CAD. I’m glad I didn’t spend much on it because it leaves my skin feeling very tacky, it never seems to dry down. Mineral sunscreens can feel drying on the skin but I did not experience this while using this one. It’s not greasy feeling, but it is so sticky and uncomfortable I can’t stand wearing it. The mineral white cast isn’t horrible and it does blend relatively easily compared to others I’ve tried but I do not enjoy the feeling of it on my skin so I won’t repurchase.

As the name states this is a mineral AKA physical sunscreen, and contains both Zinc Oxide, and Titanium Dioxide. I had been using chemical sunscreens on my face, by had issues with irritation in the eye area. The biggest caveat with this and other physical sunscreens is that they leave a white cast. I’m fair to light toned and upon application the white cast is pretty intense. It does dissipate after a few minutes, something to bear in mind before heading out or applying makeup. For whatever reason This is a bit drying, if you are dry or prone to eczema I would suggest patch testing first, or apply over a moisturizer. Price wise it comparable to Eucerin and CeraVe, but the formula is completely different as CerVe and Eucein and chemical sunscreens. I would also proceed with caution if you have medium to deep toned skin, because the white cast is harsh.

After a few weeks I decided this was not the sunscreen for me. I’ve read mixed reviews about the use or mineral/physcial sunscreens for eczema prone skin. YMMV, but my skin could not tolerate this formulation. It was very drying, and caused me to get a small patch of eczema on my hair line. My naturally dry skin, coupled with the drying effects of the sunscreen made any makeup I put over top look awful. Even with a lightweight luminous foundation my skin just looked lifeless and parched. Knocked off a lippie and changed to would not buy again. Again if you are dry, sensitive or eczema prone proceed with caution of patch test

I have been using this every day since Deciem came out with it. I have tried many different ones before that. Most gave me itchy skin or felt heavy. This one is perfect. It has a very high mineral content and also contains antioxidants. It is creamy and thick, melts into your skin, and is moisturizing. It has a white cast that disappears after a few minutes. Perfect for sensitive skin, vegan and cruelty free, and it costs so little.

I was thrilled that The Ordinary came out with a mineral sunscreen. Unfortunately it takes ages to rub in and leaves too much of a white cast. Smaller particles please!

This is an excellent physical sunscreen. It has a thick consistency but blends into the skin nicely. It plays well with my other skincare and doesn’t peel. This makes an awesome primer under makeup. It leaves a slightly tacky feel that makeup adheres to wonderfully. Makes my makeup last much longer. The only down side is that this does leave a white cast. I don’t mind bc I wear it under makeup. Otherwise, it could be a problem for you.

I llove this.I’m a long time user of Paula’s Choice calm mineral normal /oily version.It’s the only mineral sunscreen along with the new PC defense that dosen’t make me look like a ghost. But I’m in UK and PC is expensive here, they just stick a £ sign in front of the $ sign and that’s what we pay, so it’s not cheap.When I heard a while back that TO was coming out with a mineral sunscreen that was fragrance and alcohol free , I was delighted! I read a lot of the reviews on different sites and I didn’t hold out much hope. Most were saying it was thick and white and up tp a point I agree.When I started to apply it (and you must apply the required amount) I thought this is going to be a disaster, it was so thick and white well, not EXACTLY white, this cream has a definite beige tint, no doubt about it, which maybe helps with the “ghost” look..But after application the white/beige cast was only slighty noticable , it just made me look a little paler.I can live with that , if I am being well protected from the sun. This has 14% zinc oxide and 5.4 titanium dioxide, that is good sun blocking stuff!! That’s where I prefer this over my beloved PC calm, this has higher active ingredients although the PC still wins for white cast.I don’t know if any of you have used the PC defense mineral spf 30, another favourite of mine. That is not pure white either, it has a definite beige tint, and that’s what TO mineral reminds me of iin colour, although the texture of TO is definitely thicker.Then there’s the price of TO, using this I can cut my sunscreen costs enormously.I was spending about £300 a year just on sunscreen!! I’m half way through my first tube of TO, and have just ordered two more, it’s going to be a regular now,although I will still continue to use the PC as well, but now at least I have a choice.To minimize the white cast I find applying two thinner layers rather than one thick helps.I would describe my skin as meduim fair, NW15/20.I don’t think this would work for dark skin tones ,although I would imagine darker people must have real trouble with mineral sunscreens.This can be hard to remove, you do notice that when you wash your hands after application, but we should all be dilligent with cleansing anyway. It’s not at all greasy either , which surprised me.It’s ok under make up too, although to be honest I do prefer the PC for that.Anyway to sum up if you’re thinking about this I would say go for it, as like me you may be pleasntly surprised, and at the price what have you to lose? It won’t suit everyone but then what does? All in all I’m delighted with this,at last a cheaper mineral sunscreen that I can use. If only I could use chemical sunscreens,my choices wouldn’t be so limited,but I can’t as they sting and burn my eyes. Happy to have found this little gem though!

A very good physical sunblock with all mineral uv filters. Yes like all physical sunblock this gives a horrible white cast but the texture is nice. Despite its tacky consistency, this is actually a very good base for makeup. it helps your makeup last longer and the product itself is also very longlasting, on top of that, it has antioxidants in it and contains no alcohol and fragrance. I love it! repurchasing for sure.

YOUR NEW SUN BLOCK IS HERE AND IT IS PERFECT.
Full disclosure: I have fair, sensitive combination skin that irritates easily and the backlash can last for days (or weeks) so everything I put on my face is suspect. First, I test a product on the inside of my arm. Next, I test it on my neck. Then I try it under the chin. Only if a product can pass all this is it allowed to actually meet my face, so when I tell you I tested something, believe it. I’ve tested MINERAL UV FILTERS SPF 30 WITH ANTIOXIDANTS and I’m confidently recommending it to everyone, including you.
I’ve tried big name sunscreens, those formulated for sensitive skin, foreign and domestic sun blocks, and even more obscure brands. Sprays, lotions, gels; I’ve probably tried it. What happens? It irritates, itches, reddens, makes my eyes water or burn, feels heavy, turns oily, ashy, dries me out, rashes, hives, patchy, too thick, too thin, flakes, pills, doesn’t cover, streaks, stings, too expensive, doesn’t work, reacts with other product, feels cheap, smells like a tropical drink, I tanned through it or even I burned when using as directed. Everything seemed like a trade-off just to have sun protection and it’s been tiring, frustrating and sometimes even upsetting.
Sound familiar? I have a feeling many of you can commiserate with at least half of those complaints and that’s why I’m urging you to give this concoction a try. You see, I had zero problems with this sun creme. Just to be clear, that’s exactly no problems, as in nothing on that exhausting list above.
Fun Fact: For a sunscreen be remotely effective, you have to be able to actually wear it. Good news, I can use this one without fear of retribution, so it’s a pretty safe bet it’s probably gonna work for you, too. Also, it really does block that sun. Sounds simple, but you might be surprised how many sun cremes don’t. I wish I was kidding.
MINERAL UV FILTERS SPF 30 WITH ANTIOXIDANTS doesn’t react to other products I use. This is critical, DECIEM fans. Think of the specialized products we get here to treat and pamper our skin. I’ve had to ditch products I had prior to using THE ORDINARY not only because were rendered ineffective in comparison but because they reacted to the treatments purchased here. This sun creme also works well under cosmetics without reactions or conflicts. It dries fairly matte and if I feel fancy, I can even set it with a light dusting of finishing powder and be done. Save me time and money while providing stellar protection? Yes, please and thank you, DECIEM.
It only makes sense DECIEM would develop sun cremes that function well with the other products. Skin care’s what they do and they carry quite a few products that make you photosensitive. It would an oversight not to offer a sun block and I am unsurprised that this creme feels like the hard-working relative of Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. Like a brother/sister act, they got you covered night and day, and isn’t that nice to know? I think so.
Sun block’s meant to be used liberally but one good coat will do the trick. There will be an initial white cast. Don’t freak. As the creme absorbs, it disappears. You’ll need to reapply about every four to six hours and after swimming as this formula’s not waterproof. But for less than ten bucks (and backed by a killer return policy) you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The cute little tube fits easily in a purse, lunch tote, glove compartment or a beach bag. 9/10 stars only because I wish it came in SPF 50 and they had options to buy larger tubes. MINERAL UV FILTERS SPF 30 WITH ANTIOXIDANTS is a necessity in any beauty arsenal and health regime, and DECIEM makes this so affordable there are no more excuses not to use a quality creme.

This sunscreen has a very nice consistency, spreads easily, no drag when I apply it to my face. It does not feel heavy at all once it’s on. There is a slight white cast on me, but that’s to be expected with a physical barrier sunblock. I use The Ordinary Serum foundation in 1.2 YG (MAC NC20 equivalent) in combination with the suncreen, and the foundation stays put. I am very happy to find a suncreen that does not irritate my skin, or make me look like a ghost or feel like I dipped my face in goo. I could not use chemical sunscreens because they all made my face ITCH. I will absolutely buy this again. I even got my husband to start using sunblock now because it feels so light on the skin!

I was really impressed with the formula of Deciem’s The Ordinary Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants. This new sunscreen contains quite an impressive formula of antioxidants and some hydrating ingredients. The Ordinary has also included a promising antioxidant called Astaxanthin, which shows potential to be an antioxidant that rivals the benefits of Vitamin C. My issues with this sunscreen is the white cast, so for more aesthetic purposes you will probably want to wear this under foundation. Doing so can weaken the SPF. To help abate this, wait about five minutes between the application of the SPF and your foundation, allowing the SPF to absorb helps to prevent dilution of the SPF. I recommend using a matte foundation with The Ordinary Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants because if you use this with a hydrating or emollient foundation it has a habit of sliding off your face by the end of the day.
