Pros – Good spf protection, good packaging, highly moisturizing (you won’t need a separate moisturizer), silky texture.
Cons – Regardless of what Clinique claims on the package, this is NOT good for sensitive skin. It turned my whole face red and blotchy, and stung like hell. Reason? Chemical sunscreen ingredients. Some people can handle these, many people cannot.
Another HUGE irritation for me:
There is this, the face cream version, and there is a body cream version. Here’s the comparison:
Face cream – $21 Body cream – $23
Face cream – 1.7 oz. Body cream – 5 oz.
Face cream – contains plankton extract
Body cream – contains EVERY INGREDIENT in the face cream except plankton extract, and listed in the same order.
Conclusion – Clinique is charging you $12.35 an ounce for this face cream, and they make a virtually identical product for $4.60 an ounce.
I’m not impressed when companies treat their customers as if they’re stupid.
If you like this sunscreen, your wallet will be much better off if you use the body cream instead.

I would not recommend putting this on your face, it is full of acne causing and irritating ingredients that broke me out. It is very thick and goopy and feels quite greasy and chalky at the same time (if that is even possible).
I found it quite difficult to apply makeup after because my face was so slick from the sunscreen even after rubbing it in for forever.
I did like that it didn’t have a white cast after application but that’s probably the only thing I liked about it.
Felt cheap and gross on my skin.

Okay ladies so here we go!
I have dark skin and was ignorant enough to believe I did not “need” sun protection because of my lovely skin color.
Wow!!!!!
Yes. I know. But thankfully I have learned 🙂
With time, my skin has changed and I noticed little wrinkles here and there….. so after much reading I have come to realize that unprotected sun exposure is the #1 cause for premature wrinkles, and honey I want to delay those suckers as long as I can!
About my skin:
My skin is very complicated. It is sensitive, dry, picky, moody, and extremely reactive. In the past I was unable to use SPF on my face because it made my skin itch and burn. I have learned that my sensitive skin likes mineral sunscreens and HATES chemical ones.
This one right here, is an outstanding option for my skin type. It does not irritate me at all, not even under the eyes. But what impressed me the most is that it contains a blend of anti-oxidants which Clinique calls “solar smart”.
About anti- oxidants:
Research has proven that adding a well formulated blend of antioxidants to SPF products helps increase the skins natural defense against the sun.
I was sold IMMEDIATELY!
Bottom line:
I have been using it for the past 3+ months and have had no negative reaction. My skin loves the creamy moisturizing feel of it and remains hydrated for the entire day.
My skin care routine includes a hydrating toner, exfoliator and serum before this baby goes on. I does not look greasy, pasty, and sits excellently under makeup.
I hope this helps.

This is an amazing face sunscreen. It might seem too thick at first, but it spreads out so well on my face and my skin absorbs it all (basically none of it lingers on my fingers). It’s not greasy at all and it doesn’t make me look sweaty. Also, it lasts a really long time! It’s pricy for sunscreen but you only need to use it once or twice a day, because it just stays there.
If you’re looking for something completely fragrance-free, you shouldn’t get this, though. Personally, I love the smell, but make sure you sniff it before you pay for it because I can smell it for quite a few hours after applying it.

This formula is a little lighter than the city block but is still a little too greasy for me 🙁

This is a great product. Don’t be put off by the fact it’s thick, it’s not greasy, just keeps skin nicely hydrated all day. At first I thought this was a just a sunscreen, but it’s a great moistursier as well, and it contains antioxidants Skin’s protected with stabilised avabenzone. I usually prefer physical sunscreens as I cannot use avebenzone around my eyes and this one’s no different. But that’s not the products fault. I have to use a physical sunscreen around eyes.I also like the fact that it goes up to spf 50 for those who need it. The avebenzone it contains provides UVA protection.A product can be spf 100, but if it does not provide UVA protection, it’s useless. The spf number only applies to how long you can be out before you burn.Don’t be fooled by high spf’s, higher isn’t always better. For example, if you’re sitting at a window all day, you don’t need a high spf. UVB rays cannot penetrate glass. UVA can though, and this is where a product like this is essenstial as it provides both uva and b protection. That’s why I like this one. You might be horrified to find that lot of so called spf products do not provide UVA protection.Unless it contains the UVA blockers listed as ACTIVE ingredients ie titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or as in the case of this product stabilised avebenzone it’s useless.

I was looking for a fall/winter moisturizer with SPF for my sensitive, acne-prone, combination, pasty white skin. This is more of a sunscreen than a moisturizer, but it provides plenty of oil-free moisture without making my face greasy or clogging pores. It wears very nicely all day without any white residue or grease. It is fragrance free and gentle on my skin. I am especially pleased that it has antioxidants, since I’m at an age to be concerned about wrinkles and sun damage.
Overall, I am very happy with this product. I like it so much I’ll probably keep it for spring and summer too, since it has a high enough SPF to protect my skin on sunny days.

I hate wearing sunscreen. I hate the smell, and I especially hate the nasty white film it leaves on my face even when worn under makeup. I have none of those problems with this sunscreen. I have a light weight face cream that is perfect to wear under foundation.
My skin is sensitive, but I’m not sure if it can cause a reaction for others. I haven’t broken out in the six months I have been using it. Considering how much product I pack on to my face, this does not make me look like a grease ball. I have combo/temperamental skin and so far, I love this!
