I am on my 3rd or 4th bottle of this sunscreen and it is FANTASTIC.
It made me weave a good bye to my favourites from LRP and Avene. I am always trying to get it on some sort of offer at Boots as the original price of £15 for just 30 ml of product is a bit hefty but on the other hand a good sunscreen is worth its weight in gold so I do not mind paying a price of several coffees for a good sunscreen that I know I can use day in day out. A small plastic bottle is also perfect for travelling or carrying in a handbag for touch ups (I use sunscreen also on the back of my hands). Can be patted over cheekbones for additional sheen and renewed protection.
In the morning I apply it in a large quantity (at least 1 ml so a bottle lasts me a month) over an antioxidant serum to maximise benefits – it is one of the not so many sunscreens that can be applied in multiple layers without rolling.
The ingredients indicate some reliable, stable sunscreens like Univul A Plus and Tinosorb which are dissolved in an oily base of Dibutyl Adipate. But my dry skin loves the glow it gives and the fact that it does not contain alcohol or silicones. I apply an additional layer quite high on my cheek bones and under eyes and it does not migrate to my eyes, unlike Anthelios Fluide.
It also makes a very pleasant base for makeup and unlike some previous reviewers, I have not experienced any rolling of foundation (YSL, Chanel, Nars, Dior) when applied on top. Perhaps some ingredients got changed? Also one need to remember to shake the bottle well. A peachy sheen looks quite pretty on my no-makeup days.

This is a nice little (30 ml actually really does make it little) sunscreen. It smells good, doesn’t sting. My issues are that I can’t put foundation on top because it pills. But it does make my skin look very luminous-dewy, quite pretty so it’s nice to use on good skin days on it’s own. The size (although it makes it rather expensive) is super handy for short trips. It’s not so cheap, but you can catch Soap&Glory on offer quite often at Boots, I got mine for 10£ (instead of 15£, I believe). I don’t think I will repurchase because of the pilling issue, other than that it’s quite lovely.

No weird white cast, absorbs quickly, decent level of moisture (I need no extra moisturizer in summer, but I put this over a moisturizer or serum or something in winter), doesn’t break me out even though my skin is INSANE, doesn’t cling to any dry patches, doesn’t mess with my makeup, wonderfully high SPF. Winner. I’ve bought it twice and will definitely buy it again.
It also seems to work as a primer… ish? I don’t really wear foundation often, just this + concealer + light powder, but it seems to all hold together well for as long as you’d want it to – I mea, you’d need to touch it up if you’re going out after work, but that’s it.

I originally thought that I would never repurchase this product but I have changed that to a yes. I would repurchase. I used this on vacay and I actually prefer it to the Kiehls as it did a better job holding up on my oily skin in extreme heat and humidity. I wasn’t thrilled with the price/amount of product but as I only use SPF50 on holiday a 30ml tube is fine and a more travel friendly size package. Still only 4 lippes though, because this price for a drug store brand just feels wrong.

I bought this in anticipation of a beach holiday. I was using the Kiehls Ultra Light SPF 50 PA +++ and wanted a cheaper and easier to find alternative, I have combination skin prone to blocked pores and find many sunscreens produce an awful white cast on my dark skin. This SPF is absolutely lovely, it is light weight, has absolutely no white cast, helps keep my oil under control, works fine under make up and hasn’t caused any spots or clogged pores. It has an opaque white plastic bottle and a fine pour spout which helps control application of the thin formula. It comes out with a ‘peachy’ hue but it is invisible on the skin. Oh and it smells great too, clearly an added lingering scent so if that bothers you stay away. I love the high SPF that is easy to use and cosmetically elegant. And am going to enjoy using the rest of the bottle.
So why won’t I buy this again? The price. I picked it up in Boots and initially I thought £15 was a good price. That was until I got home and realised that the bottle is only 30ml (most alternatives are at least 50ml). Per ml this product is more expensive than Dior and Clarins and equivalent to the Kiehls I was trying to replace. So while this product is lovely I will not be repurchasing.

I was so excited to find this in store, it’s really difficult to find a photostable chemical sunscreen without silicones in it in this country (I live in the UK), never mind one you can buy from the high street with a high SPF! I got it from Boots and it was £15, but it’s on a special offer at the moment where you can mix & match and get 3 for 2 on a whole bunch of brands.
I have been using this for a couple of days (since it came out) and so far it’s great. The fluid comes out slightly peach tinted but not enough to provide any sort of coverage. The consistency is very runny but it absorbs quickly and easily. It feels weightless on my skin and it dries to an almost undetectable finish – not sticky at all – with a slight sheen. Because of the slightly satin finish, it makes a really nice base to apply foundation over. I have really oily skin but I don’t like to look super matte, so this is ideal for me as the sunscreen gives my matte finish foundation a more glowy appearance. Also, this product contains oil absorbing ingredients, so it helps my makeup to last longer and I don’t look like an oil slick by midday, which is something that happens to me frequently with other sunscreens.
The product has a not unpleasant smell that I can’t put my finger on, it almost reminds me of sunscreen that my mum would use on me when I was a little kid! It’s not bad though and disappears after a few seconds.
I have very acne-prone skin and so far I haven’t broken out from this product. This, to me, is the single most important factor in deciding if I like a product. I will update this review in a couple of days with further thoughts once I have tested the product out more thoroughly. So far, so good though!
UPDATE: 24/03/2014: I have been using this for several weeks now and it is perfect, exactly what I was looking for and ticks all the boxes that I look for in a sunscreen. It is lightweight, non greasy (albeit a little shiny but I can live with that), doesn’t break me out and has SPF50! I have been using it every day since I got it and it has helped dramatically fade my acne scars too.
One point I would like to mention is that the package says it must be reapplied every two hours. However, I checked with SCB and this only applies if you will be in the sun for long periods, or if sweating, swimming or rub it off. This doesn’t affect me as I am not in the sun for most of the day, but it may be important for some people.
