This body cream from Clinique is an ok option. I’m not a fan at all of it’s quite thick and oily texture. There are many sunscreens out there with SPF 30+ that feel infinitely lighter than this one, while it is fragrance free and contains some good antioxidants I’m going to have to give it a miss and will not be repurchasing. Packaging is a pretty sunshine state yellow and the price isn’t bad but nothing special. Great beach sunscreen for those who don’t mind the texture.

Wearing this under makeup resulted in an explosion of breakouts. I’m extremely annoyed. I blame the shea butter or maybe the water resistant capabilities of this. On it’s own though, it doesntvexacerbate my acne used sporadically here and there. I would only use this for the beach maybe, or a cold, dry winter. It’s too emollient for me any other way.
The consistency is very creamy/thick and blends in easily. At the get go it looks shiny and feels creamy. It stiils feels creamy to the touch after blending it in and waiting a couple of minutes. After 15-30 minutes it settles into a wearable in public, less shiny, less emollient finish but it stays creamy/movable on the skin if I stay outdoors in hot/humid environment. If I go to an air-conditioned place it settles better for me, and instead feels more soft matte, unless I apply a lot, in wich case it feels soft matte, but still a bit creamy.
Basically, this is great for NORMAL TO DRY skin on cool/cold countries, and only for dry skin on warmer, more humid environments. THIS IS NOT FOR OILY SKIN. Especially not if you plan to put makeup on top of this. I have to set it (after leaving it alone while I get dressed) with some translucent silica powder before applying makeup or makeup just does not stick to my face fyi. If you are going to use it for the beach and don’t mind a noticeable creamy feeling on your body, then knock yourself out. Its non-comedogenic (by itself) not whithening, has antioxidants too boost sun protection and shea butter.
I love the yellow tube packaging on this and the price. Sunscreens shouldn’t be 1.7 ounce bottles that cost fifty dollars.
On the negative side, if this runs into my eyes, it makes my eyes tear up. It doesn’t bother my eyes horribly, as in I HAVE TO GO WASH MY FACE RIGHT NOW, but it does bother them.
I will not repurchase for everyday wear because I prefer lighter sunscreens (watery, matte to the touch) and it makes my eyes water a little sometimes. My HG chemical daily sunscreen is Paulas Choice Skin Balancing Ultra Sheer daily Defense Spf 30. Its water based and doesnt make me shiny or feel heavy.

For daily sun exposure on the arms, neck and chest, I prefer Clinique over anything else I’ve tried. (I use tinted SuperCity block as my foundationand love it.)
Clinique doesn’t sting or make my eyes water. It spreads easily, it’s not runny, it’s unscented, it’s just perfect. It isn’t greasy and doesn’t leave that film that so many sunscreens do, no pilling under other products. In a few minutes it’s completely absorbed. Doesn’t clog my pores, either. I use the SPF 30 body cream on my arms, neck and face daily when I walk my dog for an hour. Also use it anytime I’ll be outside for more than a few minutes, yard work, outdoor shopping, the park ,etc.
I use tinted Supercity Block as my foundation, but not every day. So I’ll use the SPF 30 on my face with powder over the top on ‘no makeup days’. Did I say I love this stuff?
I use it on my toddler too, because the baby Coppertone I got for him stinks and stings, and it’s a pain to spread.
What I wouldn’t use this for days at the beach or pool where frequent all-overreapplication is necessary. It’s too expensive. I’ll stick with cheap stuff for those activities.

Others have mentioned it being quite thick, but I don’t find it to be, and it definitely spreads easy enough for me to apply it to a wriggling child.
Like another reviewer mentioned, buy this instead of the cream meant for the face, you get more for your money and it’s basically the same.

I have used the city 40 spf and didn’t like it it was drying around my nose and chin I have like combination skin in spring summer and sucked all my oils out and my foundation did not glide well it was very cracked looking, even with primer so maybe this is good for very very oily skin. THIS ONE I LOVE!! I use it on my face neck and hands and it is emolient but it dries within 5minutes to nothing and does not leave a white cast at all. It protects my skin and nourishes because it has antioxidants in it. Even on Paulas choice they say its the same as the smaller tube stated for face but with this you get so much more amount of product in the tube so you don’t have to use it sparingly and can apply it everywhere so it’s really worrh the money. I love love it and highly recommend this!!

This sunscreen is my current favorite, and is one of the first chemical sunscreen I’ve used. It’s similar to the Aveeno continuous protection SPF30 in texture, but absorbs a lot better and stings less on the eyes. It is very moisturizing, and makes my dry skin stay soft all day.
This sunscreen has the same formula as the face cream, so is much better in value. It’s not much more expensive than drugstore sunscreens!

I agree this cream is thick, but most sunscreens are. There doesn’t seem to be any way around that. This one does not leave a greasy residue and is 100% fragrance free, or nearly. I like it, but I’m not sure if it’s worth what I paid for it. I picked up a sunscreen for a fraction of the cost (admittedly a smaller quantity) for my kids to take to the beach. I’ve just compared the two on the backs of my hands. Can’t detect any difference, and both claim to offer UVA and UVB protection. The Clinique uses ‘SolarSmart’ technology (ie anti-oxidants, according to Paula Begoun) so perhaps it is better, but I’m still doubtful that it is worth what I paid. Paula also says this body cream is the same as the the equivalent SPF30 face cream from Clinique, you just get more for your money. Much more actually, now I compare them. Handy to know!

I’m quite impressed with this product…even if I can’t seem to find the ingredient list anywhere (grrr…isn’t it the law to disclose ingredients? Only the actives are listed). Anyway, I assume the non-active ingredients are the same or very similar to the SPF 50 Body Cream (check pville review).
Anyway, the texture is very, very thick…which is why it doesn’t get a 5 from me, but other than that, I love it. It seems to mattify, sinks in very quickly, doesn’t sting, doesn’t get greasy late in the day, and leaves no whitecast…everything I wanted in a sunscreen. I have oily-ish skin, but it doesn’t seem to make it worse…which surprised me. I guess I should also say that I use this on my face, not my body (still covered until summer).
All in all, a good product, you get a lot for you money, and a very elegant formula. Highly recommended.
Update – I still highly recommend this product, but the uber-thick texture is a turn off, especially when Neutrogena offers competitive products with nicer textures and lower prices. Great for someone with dry skin I imagine, and great for its intended purpose – the body.
