I have oily skin and reapply sunscreen several times a day. I purchased this at my local Target and was looking forward to using it based on other reviews. However, this leaves a very weird powdery white residue that settled in lines on my face. This is very odd given this is a chemical sunscreen. I basically looked like I was dying.

This is an okay daily use high SPF. It has a fairly natural finish. My problems with it are that it can leave white smears which aren’t visible until it dries, and that it does not work well with all products. Depending which moisturizer I apply it on top of, it can set and form a rubbery finish that can’t be blended, so that if I try to smooth out the white smears, it instead pills into rubbery balls. The same problem can happen with some foundations when I try to apply them on top of this product.

First I am an avid sunscreen user. I always use a moisturizer then apply sunscreen. I also wear a light to medium foundation ( liquid or powder) so I am always on the search for a sunscreen that plays well with my primer and foundations. This is a pretty good chemical based sunscreen. Love the fluid texture. Applies like a dream. No white cast. Plays well with a variety of primers I use. I did find it a tad drying. I just prefer my Clarins or Shiseido sunscreens as they use a physical sunscreens

While wearing the La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid I didn’t have any issues. This is literally a liquid texture that applies pretty easily. I found this to leave my foundation looking a little dry and flaky in some drier areas. I wasn’t too bothered by this since I do tend to have dry skin. My issue was once I washed this off my face became even more dry and even using some of my normal skincare products burned upon initial application. It wasn’t until I read the ingredient list that I knew what was going on. The third ingredient is denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol is a big no-no for skin in such a high amount, especially when it is one of the first five or six ingredients. I really wanted to like this sunscreen but definitely won’t be finishing this or using this again. My video review can be seen here: w

BROKE ME OUT HORRIBLY AND I DON’T NORMALLY GET SPOTS ON MY FACE!
This product gave me awful tiny little spots and bumps all over my face! I usually have very clear skin that is a little dry and the only place I will get spots is around my chin depending on my diet and time of the month.
I was so upset that by the end of the day, since applying it at lunch time, I had lots of tiny little spots and bumps, especially around my eyes. I saw another review which mentioned the same thing. I have no idea why I especially have a cluster of small bumps around my eyes?? My skin feels awful and lumpy.
Before this happened I found the smell to be neutral, it applied well (I did one modest layer) and looked lovely. I did not apply any make up or moisturizer afterwards.
The only thing I can think of is that I did sweat a bit that day but I have sweated while wearing the kiehls face sun screen and did not get horrible little spots like that.
Really upset as I won’t be able to use this again….

I only tried a sample of this and was ultimately put off by how horrid it looks under makeup. However, if you don’t want to wear makeup on top of it, at this stage in my HG sunscreen search, I would recommend this product. Having said that, I would still say it is too expensive for what it is.
Pros:
– Didn’t leave my combination to dry skin feeling greasy if NOT worn under makeup; it really does feel light on the skin (AND I applied it over moisteriser)
– Didn’t leave a white cast on my skin
– A little goes a fairly long way
– I only put it on once and it lasted the whole day in the sense that I didn’t get even the slightest bit burnt (I was at the top of the mountain skiing with full sunshine in spring the whole day long)
Cons:
– Under makeup it turned what is usually beautiful foundation into a cakey-looking MESS instantly. It then clung to the dry patches while leaving the t-zone oily, which never normally happens (albeit without any sunscreen protection), and looked DREADFUL
– Not good enough/ too small a quantity for the price; I’m sure there must be better products out there for the same price.

I will not be repurchasing for several reasons.
1. This sunscreen burns your eyes. I can’t apply it around or above my eyes because it will eventually run down into my eyes and burn.
2. The formula is more of a liquid to powder. Therefore, if you don’t work it in well during application you will have white globs on your face. Additionally, if you rub your face it will ball up! I’ve walked around twice now with small clumps of this sunscreen from where I’ve touched or rubbed my face.
3. There is a white cast. I have medium-light olive toned skin. This does leave a slight white cast, especially if you don’t work it into the skin well.
4. It’s expensive! For the price I prefer Etude House’s Sunprise. For reference, I have combo skin that leans oily.

This is quickly becoming my HG sunscreen…and just when I thought I’d never find it in the US! I love this. Super light and liquidy, great broad spectrum protection, dries satin matte and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I actually look forward to putting this on after my serums as it is the perfect finishing step for my morning skin care routine. I wish it wasn’t so expensive so if I can get a hold of a Korean sunscreen to try, I may just do that to see if it compares to this in order to save me some money. Other than the price, this is as close to perfection as I’d think I will ever get when it comes to sunscreen. I do recommend it.

i really appreciate the high spf on this product, and dont mind chemical spf. however i don’t believe this is good for oily skin. i use moisturizer underneath all spf regardless of season so when i say this made me oily within 10 minutes of applying, i know it is this product bc other sunscreens do not make me this shiny and my skin is not that oily to start with, usually
maybe i will save this for winter for when my skin is more dry

I usually use Biore Watery Essence as my sunscreen, but I order that online and my new bottle has yet to arrive. I looked around and saw that this sunscreen was highly recommended by many people. First of all, this shit is expensive. $20-30 for a lil bottle? Noooo. It also doesn’t give much of a matte finish. In fact, it makes my face quite greasy. Also, my biggest deal breaker with this is that it’s making my skin really congested. I’m going to try and finish this up because it’s expensive as hell, but I hate what it’s doing to my skin. I hope my Biore sunscreen gets here quicker!
