I bought this due to the word “Hydrating” but it is so drying!!!
I really wanted to deep cleanse my scalp as the Jason’s one is too soft on my hair and doesn’t deep cleanse my scalp. i bought this and even though it is said for “normal to dry hair”; it is DRYING….
I will use this once a week to deep cleanse my scalp and that’s about it.
Once I’m done using this big bottle of 32 oz, I will have to decide if I want to repurchase. I think it does deep cleansing well but also dries the hair too much.
PS: I am already clean from “poo” hair stuff since 2014 when I cleaned myself from silicone and all dirty hair products.
EDIT: 6th January 2019 – Halfway through the bottle I discovered that the formula has changed colour but kept on using it anyway. Wrong move… my head started to get pimples and it was gross and painful. I threw out the rest of the discoloured formula. No more. Byeeeee

I found this shampoo while searching for an alternative to the SLS laden standard shampoo on the market due to my obnoxiously sensitive skin while also looking for a better value than the Organix brand could provide. It seemed like I was replacing things every month and a half- at $8 a bottle for a small amount, I was fed up! I have short, thick, often dyed hair with fine individual stands and some curl. I also can only wash my hair twice a week or my scalp dries out no matter what I use.
This shampoo has been amazing for me. It doesn’t irritate my skin, and my hair is now healthy enough that instead of the slight wave I thought I had to make do with, it has actual curl. My hair is manageable, touchable, and not oily or greasy. I’ve been using this shampoo for a few months and while reviews on other sites said there was an adjustment period, that wasn’t my experience at all. My girlfriend, however, was a very different story- she had problems with this shampoo and the Shea conditioner (which I use in conjuction with this product along with Palmer’s Coconut oil repairing conditioner for my perpetually dry scalp/hair) making her scalp greasy and hair feel dry, even after the initial adjustment period mentioned in other reviews elsewhere. So, of course, your milage may vary.
I absolutely adore it and the massive 32 oz (with pump!) I picked up for ten bucks, it’s lasted me for at least three or four months and I’m not even half way through it yet. It’s also very lightly scented if you have trouble with strong scents.

Nice, chemical free shampoo. This lathers up quite a bit and rinses clean. The longer I use it, the more hydration I notice. The ingredient list includes coconut and ginger, neither of which stands out in a strong way — it’s a light and natural scent that doesn’t linger in the hair once it’s rinsed. This would be a great product for people with sensitivities and allergies looking for a decent product that is non-irritating. Also, it’s fair trade and the proceeds assist maternal and prenatal care for moms and young children in Africa. Win!
