Useless. This did nothing as a primer and I absolutely would not recommend this as a “serum” for any skincare regimen. It did not make any pores disappear. It did not create a smooth, primed surface for liquid or powder.
It did not moisturize at all. And it is generally uncomfortable on my skin. The fake orange smell is out of place. Just weird and like IT is trying to fill up valuable shelf space with endless product offerings. So far, the only thing I like from this line are the brushes.

I did not find this product to be very good. I seldom see the benefit of “combination” products, this one being a serum/anti-aging/primer was no different as it failed in all aspects. There is a strong orange scent. Like you’ve just zested or peeled into an orange and sprayed the oils on your face. I did not find this to perform in any anti-aging category, however I did not expect it to either. I wish the FDA would crack down on pharmaceutical sounding terms in non-prescription skin-care. You are not ever going to find some miracle cure anti-aging product without a prescription. You might see some hydration, at best. For products to work to the level of marketing fluffery that they are promoted as is not possible. I did not believe it would perform or meet any expectation in that category and it did not alter that opinion.
This product did not work awesomely as a primer across various foundations. I found it worked best with powder ones applied with a damp sponge, however it still had the tendency to pill on skin. I would not recommend this product even at a lower price.

This is the absolute worst product I’ve ever purchased from IT Cosmetics. My skin is naturally dry & sensitive, this moisturizer made my face & neck an oil slick! It took forever to absorb and in a VERY short time looked like I’d used Crisco in it’s place. I gave my bottle away to my Mom, she said she’s scared to try it, lol.

Meh. It was all right as a moisturizer but didn’t do anything as a primer for me. I used it under my Your Skin But Better CC cream, also from IT cosmetics. I have dry/combination skin with some fine lines (I’m 48) and enlarged pores. This didn’t diminish the look of my pores or lines, or extend the life of my foundation. I prefer Smashbox’s primerizer for a hydrating primer.

I have been trying different primers and the last one I used was the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. I was looking for something similar and while at Ulta the sales lady recommended this product. I was a bit iffy, specially for the price but decided to try it regardless. ( I planned to return if it did not work for me.) I am in my early 20s and have very oily skin, that is the reason I have been trying out different primers. The foundation I am currently using is Born this Way by Too Face. I like the foundation but with the hourglass primer it tended to get very oily.
I use this primer/serum at night as a serum and in the morning I use it after my moisturizer as a primer. At first it felt heavy but I found that if I buffed it into my skin then patted it in place, it sank in and I will not feel it. I used the same foundation and my skin not only feels and looks so smooth, but it stayed matte. I used it with the bye bye pores setting powder and it works amazing.
The price is a bit on the high side, but it is definitely something worth adding to a skin care/ make-up routine.

I expected to really like this product. It does feel nice when first applied and makeup goes on smoothly. The big drawback is that after a few hours, my makeup looks splotchy all over, not just in my T-zone. I’ve actually tried this serum/primer under three different foundations that I regularly use, and instead of lasting longer, it seems to cause them to deteriorate.
I plan to return it, even though I bought it on the 25% off sale at It Cosmetics. A disappointment for me.

I love this but I have N/D skin. I can’t imagine this working for all skintypes. This is really a moisturizer and not really a primer. It doesn’t blur lines or pores. And it doesn’t make foundation last longer but it is a really nice light moisturizer. It has a light citrus scent that disappears quickly. It’s comparable to Hourglass veil but without the spf. It is high priced but a little goes a long way. It cosmetics should call it what it is.

This was not bad imho; not great, but not bad. I will just list the pros and cons for me:
PROs:
Did not feel greasy, which I appreciate on my sometimes oily skin
Did not make me look shiny, which again, I appreciate on my sometimes oily skin
Convenient pump or drop applicators
Not heavy, but not light weight; I could definitely ‘feel’ it on my skin
I like the size and feel of the bottle in my hands (trivial I know but some bottles are just awkward and/or difficult to use. This is easy to use!)
Gives my skin an overall ‘better’ look (evens out texture, even the color, it seems)
Did not irritate my skin (sensitive skin)
Mattifies my skin when first applied (my sometimes oily skin appreciates a primer that tends to matt and not make shiny or oily)
A dab will definitely do ya with this. One drop or one pump is more than enough to cover my face (and I usually bring it down to my neck, as there is a good bit of product dispensed)
This, while pricey, will last a long time because a little goes a long way
It does make my skin baby-soft, which apparently is it’s main claim to fame on the It Cosmetic’s website
It does hydrate my skin but not make it oily or shiny
It is paraben-free, talc- free, sulfate-free and cruelty-free
Absorbs into the skin quickly and easily
Easy to apply
Easy to blend
Applies very smoothly and evenly
Absorbs into my skin very nicely
CONs:
There is a definite smell when first applied. To me, it smells like Lemon Pledge. Fortunately I find that the scent disappears almost immediately as soon as it is applied.
Does not seem to make my makeup last any longer, and isn’t that the main goal of a makeup primer..?
The It Cosmetics website claims this will diminish/diffuse the appearance of pores. I did not get any diminishing of pores with this.
Some other trivial info:
This currently retails for $48.00 USD for one ounce, so it is a bit pricey, but again, a little goes a long way, so if this product does wow you, the initial price may sting, but over time it is not so bad.
This makes my skin itch for about the first 30 minutes or so after application, and that is even testing this with nothing else on my face. But it does not make me break out or severely irritate my skin, just a very slight itchiness (not even enough to make me take my hands up to my fface, but just a slight annoying itch), so the initial itchiness I can overlook, as I think it is just the product going to work .
Generally speaking, I like It Cosmetics, even love some of them, many are my holy grails, so maybe I just expected too much with this. All in all it is okay, but does not ‘wow’ me. I bought this when it was on sale at Ulta for half price during their 21 days event, but I doubt I would have purchased this at full retail, and probably would not re-purchase. If this wows you, the retail price may be fine, especially because, as I said, a tiny dab will do ya, it applies smoothly and evenly and blends into the skin flawlessly and pretty effortlessly.
TLDR: This evens out my skin tone, but that is about it. I did not get any pore blurring nor longer makeup lasting benefits with this. Has a lemon scent when first applied but the scent quickly dissipates. Nothing wow-worthy imho. I think you could find similar or even better products for the same price or even less $$$ (and yes I know there are primers even more $$$$$$$, but I am reviewing this product). For a product of this retail price, I just expect more, and though this makes my skin generally look and feel better, yes, but the two main aspects, the pore-blurring and makeup lasting longer, that I hoped for, this did not accomplish this for me. Still, it did make my skin overall look and feel better. Meh…..Three stars!!! I like it okay enough but doubt I would re-purchase. It is just ‘okay’ imho / in my experience.

I have been completely blown away by this product and am surprised by the inconsistent reviews.
I was browsing in Ulta when I tried a bit of this on the back of my hand. I didn’t catch at first that this was a primer, I understood it to be a serum. I learned quickly that it’s both.
I’m very oily but can be dehydrated. I’m also in my early 40s and am starting to have a crepe-y look around my eyes. While walking around the store, this caught my eye–as a serum, though, not a primer. I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear and Double Wear light and, for the most part, have zero interest in primers. Because most primers are silicone based, I’ve found them to have a greasy feel that I don’t enjoy, this also goes for the EL mattifying primer. No matter how lightly I’ve tried to apply it, it feels greasy and is not mattifying at all. But since I wasn’t looking at this as a primer, only as a serum formulated like a lotion, I was willing to give it a shot as a serum that might give me some anti-aging support without feeling slick first thing in the morning.
Before leaving, I’d asked a sales associate a question about an unrelated product, and when she noticed the No. 50 package in my hand she said, “Oh! That’s the absolute best!” I told her I’d just tried a bit on my hand and thought it might be a good serum for me. She said, “It’s really more of a primer with anti-aging benefits, but it’s amazing. It’s not greasy and your make up looks so natural and pretty. I’m wearing it right now.” Call me naive, but her delight at seeing the product seemed very genuine, and since we weren’t anywhere near the IT products, I didn’t take it as a sales pitch. With my new understanding, I took this pricey product home and gave it a shot.
I’ve been using this product daily for two weeks and my skin looks better and better every day. EL can settle into fine lines and wrinkles and can be drying in areas where not as much oil control is needed. EL now looks very natural on me. This primer has truly softened my look. It’s also keeps EL from looking dry around my eyes and keeps it from settling into the pores on my nose and the tops of my cheeks. My skin feels softer and every day I’ve had to use less and less of the product. I know other reviews (and the package directions) say a little goes a long way, but I think that depends on your skin. I was very dehydrated when I started using this. I have applied both with and without a moisturizer and find that only time has necessitated a reduced application. As this product has improved my skins moisture levels, that is when I’ve needed less. Also, absolutely no break outs. My skin looks totally amazing! I’m hooked.
If you’re 40+, I’d encourage you to use this for the anti-aging benefits. It’s really good stuff.

I’ve received a few deluxe samples of this. I really like it. It doesn’t make my oily skin even oilier. It smells like oranges and really makes my face feel smoother after application. I’m not sure if I would spring for a full bottle due to the price but I might and only use it for going out, special occasions, etc.
