A repurchase only if it could be the version I purchased in fall 1989. Fresh, sweet, clean…unique…unlike any floral previously tried. This was my signature scent until I discovered China Rain in the nineties. Wish they would bring back the original.

The original Lauren is 5 lippies in my opinion. However, the current reformulation burns my nose and is nothing like the old one.
After a few hours, the new version does settle into something reminiscent of the original, but I cannot stand the initial notes. And even afte a few hours, it still does not have the warmth of the original.
I am hoarding vintage bottles since this is my signature scent, and I hope it will last me for many years, at least.

I remember my mom had a bottle of this when I was a kid. I used to think it smelled like wet roses. I would spray the tiniest little spritz on my wrist and sniff it all through the day, Fast forward to being a woman myself when I smelled some flowers in the rain on a gray day. It reminded me of the long forgotten Lauren. I hopped on Amazon and found myself a bottle. I can tell it’s not exactly the same as the bottle my mom had but it’s still great nonetheless. It’s really a clean floral with a little spice thrown in for some depth. I still associate this with rainy days. I would have given it 5 stars if the formulation hadn’t changed.

I have used Lauren on and off (mostly on) since 1978. Loved the original – the reformulation is partly why I use other perfumes. It just is not as good as the original….cannot capture the amazing clean freshness of the flowers nor the depth of the spicy woods. Too bad, such a gorgeous complex fragrance. I’ve received countless bottles of this over the years and one of them is an original that I savor. As another reviewer pointed out, the reformulated Lauren is better than no Lauren. I am contacting the company as suggested to help, perhaps, get our old favorite back.

It’s such a classic and I still love it as much as I did when I started wearing it in the 80s. It’s clean and not syrupy sweet. Just a hint of sophistication but still innocent. Classy. Love it.

They never ever should of changed the original smell. The new one has nothing to do with the original, no woodsy note, no depth, nothing. Huuuhe disapointment

I recently purchased this for the first time and am loving it , though it is rumored to be discontinued . It is a woodsy floral , feminine , with good sillage and projection. To me it is classy , not too subdued nor overpowering , and very distinctive . It would be a great fragrance for any adult woman , day or night . Lovely !

I bought this on clearance at Ulta, and wouldn’t have considered it at full price, based on looking at the appearance of the color in the bottle. The color goes on much more neutral than it appears, and has more of a beige appearance, though a beautiful, warm, pinkish gold beige that’s flattering to the skin. This makes Lauren a great everyday polish, even I think, for more conservative workplaces, if you get tired of matte or satin finishes for work. I remove one lippie, though, because the formula is a bit difficult with which to work. This goes on a bit thickly, and doesn’t level quickly. I am tempted to thin it, but haven’t yet because the bottle is so new. If you do not mind having to take some care, you can get a good manicure with this, and it’s worth the trouble, but if you do have deeply ridged nails, for instance, this one may not be for you. Still, very nice color for both fair and tanned or dark skins, I think. Really flattering and pretty.

I normally like bright, bold colors, but I wanted to have at least one nude polish that would look good with my skin. I’m medium-fair with very yellow undertones, and Lauren looks great. It’s a warm beige that leans a little bit pink, with gold shimmer. It’s subtle on my nails, but I like that the shimmer keeps it from being too flat or boring. I did have some trouble with this color’s formula, it went on streaky but for most of my nails the second coat evened it out.
The one thing I don’t like about this polish is that it highlights any imperfection in the nail or in application. My thumbnails have vertical ridges and normally I don’t worry much about them, but they look so prominent with this polish. I will get some thicker ridge-filling basecoat to use on my thumbs the next time I want to try Lauren.

I love this color. Zoya describes this as a “Warm pink-kissed light beige with very fine gold and copper metallic shimmer. A shimmering nude skin tone look for both day and evening wear.” That is a perfect description. Its a beigey pink, and lightly metallic/frosty. I have vitiligo and my toes are completely white so I usually shy away from light colored polish as it tends to make my toes look like little hot dogs instead of toes, but this has just enough of a pinky color that it looks great. I think it would look wonderful on tanned skin as well. Really any skin tone. Sophisticated without being “barbie”. Goes on smooth, 2 coats covers beautifully, and is really pigmented for such a nude color. Its lasted a full week and still looks fresh. Highly recommended!

Julep’s formula on this hot pink nail polish is great. Can be a 1 coater, however I still find that 2 thin coats prevent visible nail line. This is a creme finish hot pink. Not a true neon but pretty darn close. Wear time is fantastic I got 10 days on my fingers and 3 weeks on my toes without a chip. I do find that this polish work better with the Julep basecoat and Freedom topcoat, however it plays very well with my Orly bonder and SV (my HG base and top coats). Part of Julep’s classic with a twist profile. Just wish the nail polishes were not so expensive. I have opted to purchase Julep via Nordstroms, Sephora or QVC as I do not want to be tempted by a maven membership via the Julep site

Lauren is a lovely fragrance which I wore when it first came out in 1978 and for many years to follow; its fresh, sexy, woody, spicy. I love the original Lauren fragrance as it has much more depth to it, warmer and spicer than the new formulation, however in my opinion the new Lauren is better than no Lauren. I feel great when I wear it, just like great fitting clothes or your favorite fitting jeans, although its just no match for the original fragrance. I called the Ralph Lauren company and the woman told me that if they received enough calls or emails regarding the original formulation that they may consider bringing it back. She told me she would forward my request on to the proper channels. So if you love the original, don’t give up – just get on the phone and Call AND Email Ralph Lauren and maybe with enough requests we can get the original back into production!

Every single Ralph Lauren fragrance that I have tried I have adored. Lauren is my Mom’s signature scent. I’ve always loved how it smells, but I need to find my own “scent”. I guarantee that it will be a Ralph Lauren though!

I remember this scent from when I was a teen in the late 80’s. Everyone was wearing all these other scents, but this one was the one I liked. I had a little tiny sample of it. I now have this for real. It doesn’t get the full 5 stars because I remember this as being a bit less sweet, a cleaner scent. Maybe it’s a reformulation, but I wish I could get the original one I had. It’s a bit floral, a bit green, a bit fruity, blended seamlessly and perfectly (I know, kind of cheesy). : D
Edit: I’ve taken away a lippie. I don’t like how this fades…it smells even less like the original formulation as time goes by, and I find I’m not wearing it as much.
