Knockout Pout is a bright spring/summer pink, and oddly enough, for someone who normally only wears sheers and nudes, I’m particularly fond of this shade.
I have a hard time with pinks since they usually have some kind of odd colored undertone which completely clashes with my fair skin tone, so I usually just went for the safe milky white pink shades. I’m happy to have Knockout Pout though, a fun color that instantly brightens up my hands and feet and has no weird mauve nor lavender undertones whatsoever. I was afraid this shade would be loud and tacky, but its actually very cute.
It also has the same formula as Essie’s Haute As Hello, which is a bright peachy coral. These Essie colors are hard to work with, but if you go at your nails with thin coats and a light hand, the result is great. I could possibly search for another bright soft pink with an easier formula, but I feel Knockout Pout meets my criteria for a fun true pink so it’s a keeper!

Like almost all essie nail colors ive encountered, it is quite streaky to apply. I gave up on trying to apply essie colors so I just bring them to the nail salon with me and have the nail technicians paint my nails with it. Love this bright barbie pink. I like how diff it is from other bright pinks.

Probably my least favorite essie. It is bright pink in the bottle, but I didn’t expect it to be streaky and dry quite so matte. I always use base and topcoat though, but it was still an issue. One layer of top coat was no enough, it still looked like rubber. Also, this shade of pink was not flattering on my skin, it is probably too peach and not cool toned enough. I wouldn’t recommend it, I will stick to OPI shorts story if I want a barbie pink.

I have a love/hate with this polish. It is a really pretty bright pink color that I adore and I’m usually not into pinks. However, the application is horrible. It takes 4 careful coats to even out the streakiness and it dries to a weird matte shade, but that is remedied by the use of a top coat.
I do think that the color is worth the PITA application for me, but probably not for everyone.

The first time I tried this polish I was in Florida for summer vacation, and I did not bring a top coat with me. I thought that it would be fine without one, thinking I would only be there for a week and a half, and I could live without it. I had heard a lot of good things about Essie and I was excited to try my first Essie polish.
First of all, not only was the application really streaky and needed 4 coats, but it dried to this odd matte finish that made it look like I colored my nails with a neon pink highlighter! And to top it all off, I was in the sun quite a bit in Florida and my nails faded into the grossest almost-white pink color. It goes without saying, that was my first and last Essie polish I had ever purchased.

Probably my least favorite Essie that I have tried. It has a matte finish which I do not like, also a streaky application. color is not bad, its a bright pink. From Essie’s Summer 2010 collection.

I like the color but the application is a bit streaky.. took 3 coats and is a LITTLE streaky still but not too bad (hence the 4 lippies).. the color is fabulous and very similar to the Sinful Colors Fusion Neon.. That one is a lot more bright and truly NEON though.. I use Fusion Neon on my toes and this on my fingers and it looks lovely 🙂

this is fluorescent peach-pink, really a neon color. wasn’t expecting it at all from the creamy, much-more-subtle color i saw on the bottle. i’m very fair and though this doesn’t look bad on me, it’s much louder than i was looking for.
the application was super streaky, and it dries to this weird matte finish that i found really ugly without a top coat-almost like i’d colored my nails with a marker. not a fan.

This polish is just so so in my opinion. I found the application to be a pain; very streaky and after 3 coats, there are still some spots that aren’t completely opaque. In the bottle this looks like a creamy pink, but on the nails it looks like a neon pink. It dries very matte before a top coat is applied. I will say that this polish dries pretty quick though, which is a huge plus. While I think it’s a decent color I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing, since I really didn’t like the way this polish applied.
