I have used the water fuse BB Cream in the past, but saw the gel version at a Marshall’s. The price is so low because I paid $5.99 for this BB cream. It’s amazing. It moisturizes my skin without making me look oily. I know that you’re supposed to wear SPF everyday but I tend not to during the winter because I find it emphasizes my dryness, which is the only reason I am not using this right now. This stuff is cool because you can put your fingers in it and an hour later it will be perfectly smooth because of its consistency. It has decent coverage but does a good job at moisturizing my skin which makes me feel like I need less makeup. One of my favorite BB creams!

This stuff works wonders on my combo skin. My face is slightly oily with dry patches due to retin-a use. It makes my skin so smooth and radiant. Light, clean fragrance. Worth every penny.

I have picky skin. It’s oily, my skin doesn’t seem to exfoliate itself enough naturally causing clogged pores and an uneven look, many ingredients or fragrances can irritate me and cause rashes or breakouts, and any product that’s too drying will also cause me to break out… yet many moisturizers tend to be too heavy and cause clogs/acne/irritation.
I was having a rough time with my skin last year, after coming off a terrible experience with a few skincare regime attempts (TBS Tea Tree left me so dried out that my acne went into overdrive, Korres products were so heavily fragranced that it gave me rashes and bumps, many products for sensitive skin included too many clogging ingredients like shea butter, etc), I was scouring Sephora for a new moisturizer to try. When I stumbled onto Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Water-Sure Gel, the description sounded appealing. Water-based, a creamy/light gel texture, moisture without stickiness or suffocating the skin. Also noted was that “Dr. Jart’s Water Fuse line is bioferment-based and free of alcohol, mineral oil, colorants, and artificial fragrance for oily and hypersensitive skins” – well, that sure sounds like me, doesn’t it?
When you apply this gel-cream, there’s a slight cooling feel and a fresh, aquatic, light scent. It spreads easily and evenly, and absorbs very quickly without any stickiness. The product doesn’t irritate or break me out, and it leaves my skin feeling fresh, comforted, and hydrated all day. The smell dissipates rather quickly, unlike other moisturizers (looking at you, Korres!) where the fragrance was strong and lasted long enough to induce headaches.
I now use this moisturizer in conjunction with the Ceramidin Liquid from the same brand, and it’s a great daytime moisturizing/protecting combo for my skin. My tinted moisturizer also applies easily and smoothly over this product.
The only real complaint is the jar packaging. It does come with a spatula, but I’m clumsy and it flipped out of my hands and down the floor heating vent early on (I swear, things just leap out of my hands sometimes), so I’ve just been making sure my hands are freshly washed before dipping my fingers into the jar. Perhaps some type of squeeze tube would be more preferable.
If you have oily, finicky skin, I would recommend giving this a try. I’ve already bought a couple jars to stock up just in case Sephora suddenly stops selling the brand, since just about every time I love a skincare item, it gets discontinued within a year or two!
