First impression, I loved the smell. It smells fresh and lovely. Also the texture was nice and for a sunscreen I liked how it goes on my skin like a moisturizer unlike other sunscreens that leaves an odd sheen. It says it is an ultra moisturizer but is more like a basic sunscreen for me and it does its job. I did not have any skin reactions or break outs. I would buy this again. My dry flaky skin needed more than this to stay hydrated.

I had used a sample size of the Ultra Facial Moisturizer and liked it for my skin – somewhat basic facial moisturizer that does its job and isn’t greasy, but not exceptional either. Wanted to switch to the SPF 30 version for the Summer, so I went to Kiehls and asked someone there if my skin reacted well to the moisturizer without sunscreen, would the sunscreen version affect it the same?
She said yes.
IT DIDN’T.
I’ve been using this moisturizer for almost 3 weeks now and when I first started using it I found right away it felt alot heavier and greasier than the non-SPF version. Figured I’d give it time, but about a week in I started breaking out.
Had a bunch of breakout’s on my forehead, where I rarely get blemishes, then it started on my chin and about 2 weeks in my nose started breaking out as well.
I’ve noticed the moisturizer sits on my skin for an extremely long time and seems to just make the pores on my nose greasier. Where before I’d notice my nose getting greasier halfway/3/4’s through the day, now it’s a few hours after I apply.
Glad I saved the receipt, will be returning this to Kiehl’s and trying to find a new moisturizer with SPF that isn’t greasy!

It’s perfect for its purpose. Nothing exceptional, just does what it needs to do. It absorbs well into the skin, no white film or anything, and makeup layers nicely on top.
I gave this to my mom as well and she says it’s doing miracles for her skin (she’s 43.)

Love that this has high SPF. Moisturizes as well as the regular moisturizer, but my skin appears so shiny after applying, I need to blot. Kind a defeats the purpose of putting on moisturizer, or sunscreen.

Worst thing I’ve ever used!
I spent a lot on cosmetologist and after all procedures my skin was looking amazing. My cosmetologist advised me to use products with SPF, so after some research I decided to buy this goddamn moisturizer.
First of all, I like the smell of it, the packaging, I don’t mind the fact I need to wait for 10 min until it finally soaks, foundation blends like a dream when applied on this product, it didn’t do my oily T-zone more shiny throughout the day, it really does moisturize, BUT! It broke me out BAD! My skin was clear and beautiful before I started using this and now I’ve got breakouts EVERYWHERE: on my nose, chin, cheeks, forehead. I’ve never ever had breakouts on my nose, Tzone and forehead, now I do. For 3 weeks already and looks like my skin isn’t going to become clearer. This means- I’ve got to spend more money on cosmetologist to help me to clear my skin 🙁
If you’ve got acne prone skin- NEVER EVER buy this product. It started breaking me out after 2 weeks of using. Test well before buying it, plus- at Kiehl’s stores they never mind to give you a free sample.

Considering the high SPF content, this moisturizer is pretty remarkable. It does not feel like you’re wearing sunscreen at all. When I first put it on, it felt really thick and creamy and I was worried that it would make my combo skin more oily or shiny. But it dries without any stickiness, and I wore it for about 10 hours yesterday without my face getting unusually greasy. I skipped my serum yesterday because of the thickness of the cream and just wore this over my toner, and my skin felt hydrated and balanced throughout the day. The best part of this cream, and all Kiel’s products, is that it didn’t irritate the sensitive skin around my eyes. That’s always my litmus test for a good cream.

This is a great lightweight, stable sunscreen that’s cosmetically elegant and not greasy nor does it leave a shiny white film. It doesn’t have any fragrance that I can smell and it doesn’t irritate my very sensitive skin. The only problem with the stabilized avo is that you can’t use any foundations with octinoxate in them as it destabilizes the avo. So if you can find one that you like with no sunscreen (like Estée Lauder Invisible, Bobbi Brown Stick, or Urban Decay Naked liquid to name a few), then you’re all set.
Kiehl’s counters are usually good about giving samples, so don’t be shy to ask. If I hadn’t gotten a sample of this, I never would have tried it.

Love again. When shishedo discount ones my HG moisturizer I was sad but now finding this I am thrilled. Has spf, no scent, cute small bottles and the option of larger bottles. Try this. They have samples!

I am getting abit addicted to Kiehls products lately, although some are pricey they are great quality, work and last for ages! You should always inbest in skin care 😉
I use this every morning after my usual skin care regime and before i apply my make up. It does keep my face miosturised allday and it doesnt get dry, i found this is also a great moisturiser in the winter. Would recommend this to any skin type as its not greasy and does what it says. Added bonus of SP30 which is essential all year round to protect your skin from them naughty UV rays x

I use the ultra facial cream at night and needed a new SPF moisturizer so I tried this one and had to return it after two weeks of use. The texture reminds me of the SPF cream I use for my body which is heavy and not what I wanted on my face. It was irritating my eyes and appeared oily on my skin (I have dry skin), didn’t cause breakouts though. Also the bottle would dispense the product in a spurt causing more product than I wanted to come out.
