I received a large sample of this in a GWP set. I used it up, but I would not purchase a full size. This has a nice texture, is unscented, and feels moisturizing. Aesthetically, I liked it a lot. However, it uses a chemical sunscreen (avobenzone 3% and octisalate 5%), and those are hit or miss for me. Sometimes they irritate me, sometimes they don’t. In this case they did. I also don’t like that this comes in a jar. This product isn’t so thick that it couldn’t come in a squeeze tube or pump–or, get this, an airless jar.

In stead of other reviewers I like this cream very much because it hydrates very well. For me it is a perfect cream even I have a combo skintype.

I had a deluxe size sample of this moisturizer and I used maybe half of it. It’s not a good moisturizer for oily skin, I was so shiny when I used this product, I’m pretty sure you could have seen me from outer space because of the shine. And I felt that it didn’t sink into my skin. I like that it has SPF, but it does not make up for that the product is otherwise shitty. And I like the fact that it has almost no scent, but it doesn’t make things better. My advice is that avoid this moisturizer, especially if you have oily skin.

I bought this in a rush in the airport because I needed a lightweight sun cream for my face. Usually I don’t like buying face creams in jars because in my opinion it’s unsanitary. Anyway, on the jar, it says “so refreshingly lightweight, it’s a pleasure to wear!” Wrong! (For me anyway, but at the end of the day, one man’s trash could be another man’s treasure). I have combo skin, so I can get pretty shiny in the centre of my face. My face has NEVER been as shiny and moist looking as when I wear this cream. Even when I try to pat it down with powder, it shines through. I’m disappointed with this product, I trusted the Clinique brand but in hindsight I should have just carried on using my much cheaper drugstore cream. I think this thick cream could work for you if you are wearing it under a matte foundation set with powder, otherwise, prepare to shine bright like a diamond.

Creams being in a jar is a dealbreaker for me but I still got this moisturizer’s travel sizes out of curiosity. One dry-combination, the other oily-combination. For this one…
Pros:
– SPF 20 is great for winter, fall, and early spring if you are like me and already don’t go out much.
– While dry-combination did nothing to my oily T-zone, it did a better job at making my normal cheeks get softer.
– A little amount is enough for the whole face.
I can’t say if it does anything more than giving moist, I think such moisturizers show its effects in the longterm, but the ingredients are nice.
Cons:
– In a jar. Dealbreaker. No matter how great the ingredients are when it’s in a jar they lose their effect with too much air getting into the jar. I doubt SPF would work well that way also.
– The cream being in a jar cancels out its good effects other than giving moist, and that makes the cream pricey.

I was so disappointed to find out that Clinique changed their formula for the superdefense SPF25 Combo oily to oily to this supersense SPF20, because this new formula is so thick and heavy and stings my face somehow. I feel I can’t use it in summer time at all. This is a shame because the formula with SPF 25 was my all year favorite but not this new version.
