OK, I know that IBUKI doesn’t break any new ground, It is a simple basic moisturizer but… I dunno what’s the ingredient that makes it a keeper (maybe rehalose, a good ingredient for dry skin?), fact is my skin is just radiant and rested when I put this on.
Mind you: I am more inclined towards natural ingredients, formulas with little or no silicone, no parabens etc. and IBUKI is not really matching that, however it is a winner in my book and I am on my second jar.
It has a lightweight ,creamy texture hydrates without feeling greasy. It absorbs quickly and I can wear this under my makeup also – which is unheard from me, as I have combo skin and a nasty T- zone that gets greasy. Ibuki makes it work smoothly.
Please note that this may not be enough hydrating for drier skins, though.
I use Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched in combination with the Ibuki gentle cleasner (=I adore) and the Softening Lotion to prep the skin, and my skin is all soft, radiant, no breakouts. I am just pleased and I will keep on buying,

I have combination skin that gets dryer when it gets cold.
I loved it over the summer, using it as a night cream. It absorbs really quickly, is not greasy and skin feels smooth instantly.
But when it became colder, I felt it was just not enough. Even if I use face oil first, my skin still feels dehydrated in the morning.
So if you tend to get dry skin in the winter, this is not the solution.
Works fine when it’s warmer though

I’ve just tested this one out and I love it already! I have combination skin, and I have never found a moisturizer that does not make me oily, while also keeping me moisturized enough. This one does both at once, and it’s feels so good! It also removed my redness, my pores look smaller and my skin looks super healthy! I’ve just tried out this once, so this is only a first impression, but I’ve never been so impressed by a moisturizer earlier. It is a bit pricey though… Here in Norway, it costs 64$, but so far I think it’s worth the money.

I’ve been using this product for at least 2 weeks now. I have combination skin – tight/dry/fakey skin on my cheeks & mouth area; normal skin on nose/chin/forehead. I prefer heavier, ‘enriched’ moisturizers as they tend to keep my skin (particularly the dry areas) hydrated for a longer period of time than their regular counterparts.
I’ve noticed that my skin is much more even/hydrated/plump/glowy, the mornings after I use it at night. Haven’t notice my change to my pores, BUT, I do notice that my acne scars have slightly lightened since using this (which this product does claim to do). My skin feels unbelievably softer now – but it could also be because I’ve been exfoliating more often. This product is great for those who want a well-rounded moisturizer for all their needs, esp. if you have dry skin. It does not leave you looking/feeling oily though, perfect if you want to use this underneath your make up. I would recommend letting this moisturizer sink into your skin for a couple of minutes before applying foundation though.
There is a slight floral scent – disappears after application, but is noticeable and may be irritating for some. Comes with a small applicator, which I don’t really use. The jar is fine – not glass, so it doesn’t break easily. However, I would much prefer a pump, or a squeeze tube though – less chance for contamination.
The price is the only downside – $52 CDN. A little pricey, but to me it is worth it. It’s such a great moisturizer for those with young adult skin (who still suffer from some acne/large pores/uneven skin) but do not need any anti-aging yet. A little goes a long way (less than a peasize) so it’ll last long, especially if you’re like me and only use it at night…I definitely think you’ll get your $ worth. Definitely will repurchase.

I was so happy when Shiseido came out with the new Ibuki line because it suited my lifestyle. It claimed to help troubled and tired skin from polluted environments by moisturizing it effectively. This cream was good for 2 weeks but then my skin became so dry that there were wrinkles and crows feet near my eyes : ( I used this cream after using the Ibuki cleanser and softener. Another factor I wish Shiseido would take into consideration would be eliminating the perfume in this cream. The cream smells wonderful but it doesn’t react well to my sensitive skin. As of right now, I have a red itchy rash on my cheek from this face cream 🙁

The Shiseido Ibuki line was created for people in the in between stages of life. You’re not quite in the advanced treatment phase and not in the acne prone phase either. Perfect for people needing a great basic skincare system.
FACTS:
Price: $45
Volume: 1.7 ounces (50 ml)
PROS:
Smells Comforting
Very Hydrating
Absorbs quickly
Good for dry skin
CONS:
Pricey
In a pot, no pump
Lasts about 2 months
I thoroughly enjoyed this moisturizer, I have dry, sensitive skin and this moisturizer was very hydrating and the texture was great for evening out my skin tone. It’s thick enough to be a great base for makeup and its wearable for both day and night.
I love everything about it, except for the price and the fact that it only lasted my 2 months.
However, now that I am without it, my skin is looking more dry and flakey. I will definitely be repurchasing.
