On the surface, this looks and reads like it is everything you want and need. That soon changes… it doesn’t moisturise, it’s more of a lotion/emulsion type consistency. It is also very orange in colour which worries me as VitC does that when it has oxidized.
You will need a moisturiser over the top of this (dry skin people especially) and it can cause irritation. So many better options put there.
I have to mention the price !!! Ridiculously priced, no need at all and as a Paula’s Choice regular this really annoyed me. Look around the skin care market – The Ordinary, Inkey List etc. THESE INGREDIENTS DO NOT NEED TO BE THIS EXPENSIVE!! I am truly disappointed by this alone, it is like Paula laughing in the face of her customer base. Anyway, I haven’t and will never repurchase. This product made me look elsewhere which in turn is upgrading all my skin care. Silly Paulas Choice, very silly.
Oh and for all the 5star reviewers. I am not the same person as the lower reviews. I do however agree with them.

What can I say Paula’s Choice have done it again with a beautifully formulated moisturiser for clinical results at home. Retinol, Ceramides, anti-oxidants, anti irritants and conditioning emollients all feature in this beautiful moisturiser. I was able to see results from this moisturiser in as little as a week! and no I am not exaggerating!!! Stable packaging, a generous amount of product and easy to dispense and add to my already terrific routine, I am one happy customer! I’ve recently given this to my mother to use alongside her traditional Retin-A prescription and it is working wonders on days she doesn’t use that Retin A.
Definitely recommend this product! Thank you PC!

I am really liking this product. I have to give it a 2thumbs up! I do use it over my current moisturizer at night, so as to buffer the retinol, so I cannot attest to the drying properties of this. I have only experience very nice glowing skin. I am currently only using this at night because I use her Defense Essential Glow SPF 30 moisturizer during the day. I like the pump container. I use about 2 pumps to cover my face. I have not had any acne or flare ups of my rosacea or eczema. It also does not give me any trouble under my eyes but I do not use on my eyelids.

I’m dissapointed to note that a serial pest is writing the same review over and over again by falsifying their name. Atleast do a better job at disguising your identity.
That aside I really I really like this product. I layer it over my NIOD Elan or retinol serum and have had no adverse reactions. I would not wear this during the day though because of all the actives.
Great product and a decent sized amount for the price.

Lately, PC has been coming out with high-priced luxury style products and not offering samples of travel sizes. When Clinical Ceramide-Enriched Firming Moisturizer was released, I tried a full bottle once it was available during a 20% off sale because otherwise the price is astronomical.
The product comes in an airless pump, which is great for keeping the product fresh and effective. The product itself is very creamy and elegant, like a cross between a light lotion and a serum. The texture and scent remind me of PC Clinical Retinol treatment, so I suspect there is some ingredient overlap between the two. The top active ingredient is SAP, which is a stable form of vitamin C, and is known to be a bit more gentle, yet not as immediately effective as L-Ascorbic Acid. When questioned about the SAP percentage, staff at PC pulled the “proprietary” card, so suffice it to say that it has “a lot” of SAP, but who knows for sure it is a clinically effective amount. The product also contains Retinol (way down on the list) and several ceramides which are known to help repair the skin barrier.
I found the product to be irritating, and it actually caused breakouts on my non-acne prone skin. I didn’t notice any brightening (vitamin C) or firming with regular use. However, the drier areas of my face became much more hydrated and texture improved on those parts of my face. As a result, I have to give some props to this product for providing excellent moisture for parched skin. I did use up the entire bottle I purchased, but won’t repurchase due to mixed results.

Paula’s choice clinical ceramide enriched firming moisturizer:

SCC:retinol and carnosine.
Antioxidants: Abscorbyl glucoside, tetrahexyl ascorbate, retinol, punica granatum food extract,grape seed extract, tocopheryl acetate.
Anti- irritants:licorice root extract and panthenol.

First off the bat, this can not firm your skin alone, not even close.
Having a gentle skin care routine, daily use of ss, not smoking, eating a healthy diet with a variety of antioxidants and daily exercise ( no yo-yo dieting) is all you can do to prevent that. Paula and her team knows this, so I find the firming creams gimmicky.
The sample is 0.05 fl oz for $2.00. The NSP is $58.00 for 1.7 fl oz. The product recommends you apply this twice a day. So, no matter what this product is expensive.
This product boasts that it has 5 ceramides and a ton of vitamin c for the skin along with retinol. That is true, there are 5 ceramides and two forms of vitamin c included,and they are all listed pretty high on the ingredient list, so its not just window dressing.
This says it is good for all skin types. This is a light weight moisturizer and all skin types might like it. I noticed it dried quickly in most areas. It might be a little too heavy for normal or oily skin types.
For those wondering… This is a cruelty free product, but it contains cholesterol. Which is a good moisturizing ingredient.But, it is not vegan.

I’ve been looking for a way to incorporate vitamin C into my skincare routine for a while and I decided to try this product. It has 3 non-LAA Vitamin C derivatives. There’s a review below that mentions this product containing LAA. It doesn’t. Perhaps a previous formulation did, but the version I have contains Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ascorbyl Glucoside, and Glyceryl Ascorbate. I’ve had problems with LAA (oxidization/fake tan, rather than irritation), which is why I wanted to try other versions of Vitamin C.
It seems like Paula’s Choice is having trouble figuring out how to market this product. When I first ordered it, it was listed under Concerns –> Brown Spots, which really, is what I have. It’s no longer listed there. Now it’s listed under anti-aging.
Anyway, I bought this mostly for the Vitamin C, but also for the ceramides, which have done wonders for my skin.
My skin is dry and not particularly sensitive.
I do not find this to be a moisturizing product, though I would never use it for moisture alone, so that’s not really a concern for me. I did experience some redness when I used a 10% AHA gel and then applied this over the top. So I just don’t do that now. I haven’t had a problem combining this with gentler acids.
I have seen an improvement in my skintone and I’ve had some age spot fading. I can’t speak to increased firmness as that isn’t really a concern of mine.
The product does have a subtle orange smell, I assume from the Vitamin C.
The packaging isn’t the greatest. Paula’s Choice loves to laud their air tight packaging, but in my experience most of it is terrible. I find the pump works much better if I store the product upside down when I’m not using it, as I do with all of my other PC airless pumps.

I really like this. I have oily skin, so I do not need a lot of moisture. It really does appear to temporarily firm the skin. I just can’t use it on my eyes because the skin is too sensitive there, and soon becomes red an itchy. I attempted to buy another soon after buying my first, and PC had run out. I am glad to have gotten my backup in case I run out. State-of-the-art ingredients, no animal testing.

I’m not sure about this yet. I do see a slight smoothing effect, so I am eager to see if more time will yield better and better results. If it stays the same, I don’t think the price is worth the effect. I love Paula’s Choice products, but feel like some make bigger claims than they deliver. I hope this one isn’t one of those products.
My main reason for my review is that someone pointed out that there are a few (maybe more?) reviews that are low ratings that look like the same person. I agree! Looking at the profile, the reviewer joined MakeupAlley on the same day they did the review, and the reviews are similar. Just so everyone is aware that is why this product is getting poor ratings overall.

I agree with the review below me: I think this product is mismarketed. It is directed toward those with dry skin, but it is NOT moisturizing. In fact, the first time I used it (overnight), I woke up with dry, tight skin. The next time, I used it with my regular moisturizer and no more dry, tight skin. However, if I use this more than a couple of days in a row, my skin seems irritated. I do have very sensitive skin. Perhaps it is the inclusion of several types of Vitamin C and retinol in the product. I do find using less of the cream, rather than slopping it on, does help, but I do have to watch for irritation. Now for the good: even after one use, skin looks and feels smoother and firmer. Ultimately, I will not repurchase when I finish the bottle. I will try Drunk Elephant’s Protini Polypeptide Cream because it’s similar in price and reviews indicate it is more moisturizing.
