This was TERRIBLE.
I loved the texture of this: gel and translucent with no residue left behind (like most moisturizers do).
When I first applied it: my face had this burning sensation: BURNING. My face felt like someone threw acid at my face.
As the day went by, I noticed the moisturizer left this sticky, weird “plastic” finish on my face.
The texture was so sticky on my face, I looked bionic.
At the end of the day: I WAS A GREASE MONSTER. It left my forehead so oily: I had to blot my face 4x’s in the bathroom.
The following day: I suffered severe pimples all over my face.
Please do not buy this!!!!

KIEHL’S recently brought this moisturizer to Sephora in a smaller jar package (which I should point out currently costs MORE than the full size) so I thought it was time for me to finally try the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream. After I used it the first few times my skin felt instantly hydrated, soft, and smooth upon application. This also worked quite well under makeup and seemed to act as a primer. At the end of the day upon rinsing it off my skin began to instantly feel dry, red, and sensitized. That is when I finally read through the ingredients list to learn that denatured (also known as the drying type of alcohol- NOT the good, fatty kind) alcohol is the 3rd ingredient. I try to avoid denatured alcohol every chance I get, especially when it is so high up the ingredient list. I always try products before reading the ingredient list so I’m not instantly looking for the scent, or the feel, but allowing my skin to tell me what the ingredients are before my brain knows it.
The KIEHL’S Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream is also very short on beneficial ingredients. So if you have any special concerns like anti-aging, hyper-pigmentation, plumpness, fine lines, noticeable pores, this product isn’t really equipped to deal with any of those issues. Although if you are young, have oily or acne prone skin this might be more aesthetically pleasing when you apply it. It does have a very silky and satin-y feel but by the end of the day skin actually looks and feels drier. I really wish I would have ended up liking this, but it continues to be true for me that the Kiehl’s brand is very hit-or-miss. I just never really know until I try them out myself. The best moisturizer I’ve used. I have a oily face and this product just do wonders. Those with oily skin should try this, will nto disappoint. The previous product that I used tend to leave my face oily all day long. This one is so amazing , my skin feels less oily and hydrated for very long hour. Definately will purchase again and again.

I have a dry sensitive skin. I used this one because it seemed to not too thick as white packaging one. However, i break out every time i use it. Hate this one

On first use, it seemed promising, it was refreshing and absorbed quickly into the skin, giving a lightweight feeling and makes my face look hydrated and ‘translucent’.. Second time I used it, my eyes started to water and a stinging feeling settled on my skin followed by patches of redness which didn’t go away after a couple of minutes. Had to wash it off quickly. Ingredients got alcohol in it, maybe that’s why it stung.. NOT gonna use this again!

mattifying and cooling effect was nice at first, seemed like a nice light moisturizer. after continued daily use this made my skin oilier and irritated. caused clogged pores and breakouts that persisted to the point where i discontinued use.

This product is good for those who have oily skin type, when you first apply maybe will feel a bit sticky but after 10mins it will be fine and I found out that this can last for my make up for whole day. And this product contains alcohol, so for those who allergy please get some sample before you purchase.

There are two things which I liked from this cream. 1) Colour of the bottle. 2) Smell. This cream is not meant for oily skin type but rather dry skin type. Bcoz it increases the oiliness in my face. I am a combination skin type. When I applied this at night and got up in the morning I got a big bump in my face. I was about to cry. I spent 180Dhs for this which is very costly for a cream in UAE here. I donno how I am gonna finish this cream now. I am applying this in alternative days and only in winter so that I would finish this sooner. I will not recommend this to anyone.
