Solid moisturiser for sensitive skin. Thick and easily absorbed, never caused sensitivity. But expensive for what it is though.

I bought this because I have sensitive skin, and I needed a cream without perfumes or actives. While it’s supposedly unscented, it does have a pleasant smell. It smells like what most clinique products smell like. It’s definitely a thicker moisturizer, however, it’s not ultra rich. Its very moisturizing without being heavy. Once it has sunk in, it only leaves a slight film over the skin which is not oily or tacky. Great for normal to dry skin, or even combo. I like this just because there’s nothing in it that could irritate my skin, it’s mostly unscented, and it’s not too light or too heavy.

Meh is the word that comes to mind when describing this moisturizer. For how much Paula’s Choice likes to tout themselves as skincare experts, this was a miss.
It comes in tube packaging (not my personal favorite, but it’s still hygienic) and when you squeeze it out, it comes out in a white cream. The cream itself doesn’t budge if you tilt your hand, it stays in place pretty well. It feels nice when you put it on and it’s not greasy, but I don’t find it does anything for my persistent redness or to keep my skin moisturized throughout the day.
It plays nicely with makeup is one of the better parts about it. I suspect if you veer on the more normal side of dry skin or even possibly combination, this would work better. However, if you have drier-to-very dry/dehydrated skin, this is not going to cut the mustard for you.
It’s available for $28 USD for 2 oz, which isn’t the worst price for a mid-end brand (why this is rated as $$$$ on here is beyond me; it’s much cheaper than most other moisturizers in the same mid-end brand pricing for the price per oz.) I know, however, you can find better for cheaper.
Would not repurchase, only recommend for normal, possibly combo skin (but even then, there are still better options out there.)
Pros:
– Cosmetically elegant (plays nice under makeup)
– Available in a version with and without SPF
– Travel-friendly packaging
– Sinks in quickly
– Not greasy
– Available for $28 USD for 2 oz (which is relatively inexpensive for a mid-end brand, for price per oz)
– Did not cause any break-outs (ymmv; I can only speak for my experience)
– Hygienic packaging
Cons:
– Does not reduce redness (when your product is advertised as such, I kind of expect this as the bare minimum, you know?)
– Moisture does not last all day
– Not for those with dry/very dry/dehydrated skin types

I love this moisturizer. It has a calming effect on my dry, sensitive skin. The texture is creamy and absorbed quickly. I noticed the other reviewer preferred the Moisture Boost formula. I didn’t like that formula. It had a waxy feel and seemed to irritate my skin. That’s the thing about sensitive skin. Everybody has different triggers. But again, I love this moisturizer.
