   **Update** I’ve upped it by 1 lippie because it’s genuinely not broken me out and I’ve even been able to use it on very sore, raw skin on my nose from a recent cold, and there was zero reaction: it just felt soothing and moisturising. That’s really rare, and the lack of petroleum/paraffin etc. is also a huge bonus. I found it also worked better on totally clean skin rather than skin cleansed with a micellar water.

   This is an unscented, slightly yellow cream in a 50ml pump bottle which I bought for £20.50 at Boots. I have hypersensitive acne-prone rosacea skin (yay for me..) and wanted something to replace my expensive Estee Lauder verite. Although it caused no immediate irritation upon application, after about 30mins my skin felt warm and unpleasant, and the redness increased. Over days of use, my skin became drier and more red, even along my jawline; m whole face turned dark pink! Reviewers on other sites have also had the same problem with this product causing more redness and I wish I’d googled this before buying because it’s pretty expensive given the amount you get and how much you need to use. I don’t think this is cost effective. Verite may be expensive but at least it works!

   It is also poorly-formulated with low moisturising properties – I would not recommend this in winter months, cold climates, or for extremely dry skin. It is more sticky than moistursing, creating a film on the skin. Unfortunately, this film quickly pills and rubs off. I found strange grey rubbery crumbs on the sides of my face, like glue you’ve rolled between your fingers! I apply jojoba oil around my eyes, and the Eucerin would just rub off if it came into contact with the oil, so this doesn’t play well with other products. I never bothered trying to put sunscreen over the top of it, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

   The pump bottle is very sturdy but opaque and a sealed unit, so you can’t check how much you have used. I found the pump is a little stiff to operate and might be a problem for people with strength or dexterity issues in their hands/fingers. The only good thing I can say is that it didn’t break me out, which is rare for me, but other than that, it was a waste of money and did the reverse of what it promised. My skin was worse than ever after the first week of use.
