I bought this with the intention of using it on my elbows and knees. I initially wanted a small version of the Cerave Moisturising Cream (which is the only thing that as soften d my dry elbows and knees) but couldn’t find it in the local chemist, so I went for this largely for the size and the fact that the first few ingredients are pretty much the same as the moisturising cream. I really like it. I’ve used it for the brand’s intended purpose and my own and they work well to alleviate the driest of the dry. For my hands, I like that it doesn’t leave a super greasy residue afterwards. On my elbows and knees, it works exactly the same way as the cream. The consistency is rather similar too. So… all in all, for me this was pretty much the moisturising cream but for your hands. The main advantage is it comes in a tube that’s easy to carry with you if you find that the packaging of the moisturising cream is too big or clunky.

The weather is pretty rough at the moment and I was looking for a good hand cream this cream helped me so much! It’s just working. I documented everything in a little video in case you are interested in seeing the results. It took about 14 days until my rough skin was gone! 5 Lippies!

I really wanted to like this hand cream. I was on the lookout for a new un-scented to carry in my purse over winter. I am a big fan of Cerave body cream, so I had high hopes for this product too. It’s a good size for on the go and very reasonably priced. But I have eczema with tendency for the backs of my fingers to flake and crack so I need something pretty rich, and I felt it was a bit too thin and just a tiny bit greasier than I prefer. It’s not bad so I used up what I had at home, but likely won’t purchase again. I prefer something like Aveeno Eczema Therapy (much richer and less greasy) or Gold Bond ultimate healing for my hands.

A decent drugstore hand cream for normal to dry skin that absorbs quickly and is not greasy. I handle a lot of paper in my job as an administrative assistant, and I wash my hands a lot during cold and flu season, so my hands get dry and chapped quickly. Unscented. My mature (age 58) skin needs something a bit more hydrating, especially on the backs of my hands, which are starting to show my age, but in a pinch, and as a staple on my desk, it works well.

HG hand cream for me and I’ve tried A LOT! Absorbs like a dream and I could feel an immediate difference in my skin. I wash my hands about a million times a day due to my job and as a result my fingertips have become extremely dry, cracked and prone to hangnails. When touching certain materials they almost feel like Velcro. The only way I’ve been able to remedy this is by filing my skin and clipping the hangnails- this stuff has given me perfectly smooth fingertips with absolutely no filing! Definitely repurchasing. I don’t understand how this didn’t work for others on here, it’s just perfect.

I’m a big fan of CeraVe products, but this was a big fail for me. It’s a silky, non-sticky lotion that comes in a tube, so it’s very convenient to use. However, it’s loaded with silicones, which is what provides the barrier effect. I tried applying this three times and although I liked how it felt and found that it did hold up to handwashing, it made my hands itch like mad. I don’t usually react to skincare products, and have not reacted to any CeraVe products, so I was quite surprised. Anyway, I returned it and just keep a jar of CeraVe cream with the pump handy–it does a wonderful job of hydrating my always-dry hands, and it doesn’t make them itch.

First things first. I have very dry hands and use Glysomed fragrance free hand cream that I buy at Drugstore.com. I’m always looking for other products that I can buy without ordering online. I know Cerave has some good ingredients in it and it’s also fragrance free, so I laid down $10 to try it out.
When I applied the lotion it was very thin and had a bad odor to it, I’ve since found out this is not a random thing. My hands didn’t feel sticky in fact they felt sort of matte, almost powdery.
Cerave claims that this hand cream is water resistant and I tried it out. I applied and then waited about 15 minutes and washed my hands. The experience was very strange. The water and soap bubbled on the surface on my hands as if it wasn’t penetrating my skin, then my hands were very sticky until I dried them off. Once dry my skin felt like they lost the bit of moisture they had.
For the same price I could have gotten a large size body lotion and had a better outcome.

So I chose “yes” for repurchase in the event of running out, but it’s more of a ‘not sure’.
A little background, I’ve had eczema since birth, every type. Literally. I’m also allergic to balsam of peru. All of that to say, it’s hard for me to find things I can use. This is the only hand cream I’ve ever found that didn’t break me out.
It was about $8 or so at Shopper’s Drug Mart, which, for it’s size is a bit pricey, but it’s not unbearable for something that doesn’t break me out.
As for moisturizing, I’m not sure how well it’s doing in that department, but it does feel nice to have something coat my hands after washing them rather than just feeling them dry out more. It absorbs fairly quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy mess, as long as you rub it in. I feel like if I left it without rubbing it in well it would be greasy. It doesn’t smell, and the packaging is nice and sanitary. And it’s small enough to carry around in my purse.
I’m not sure about repurchasing. I might keep buying it just so I can have SOMETHING to put on my hands through the winter, and something to put on them when I wash them. But if I ever find something else I’m not allergic to that moisturizes more noticeably, I’ll buy that.

I have been using this for a week for my dry as dust hands. I have a dry skin condition, My moisture glands have atrophied to a great extent. This winter my hands have been sore, skin cracking, not as glam as I make it out to be.
I just don’t think this is doing much good, no harm but not much good. The face cream in the big tub was a bust for my hands and face, left me feeling oddly drier. While this hand cream doesn’t do that, I just don’t think it does much in my case.
I think I’ve stumped Cerave, I’m the worst case scenario though so maybe that’s why? I’ll finish the tube and update if need be.

Reading the rave reviews about CeraVe, I ran downstairs from my office to the drug store to grab a tube of this. Wow, the price! About $18 Cdn, however I do think you get what you pay for. I must say, compared to all the other brands I tested in the drug store – this is the least liquid and boy does it have staying power. I can feel it working, it has coated my hands so yes if you were touch the top of my hands you would feel the product, but I used probably more than I should. What I love about this is that I used more than I should: in other words, you pay a lot, but a little goes a long way – a dime sized amount is sufficient. And the feel is gorgeous. My hands are not itchy and my skin feels very soothed. Yes I will use this sparingly, but regularly, through the long harsh Canadian winter to keep my hands baby soft. Glad I read the rave MUA reviews! PLUS: PLEASE NOTE according to Beautypedia CeraVe IS NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!
