I have real problem hands–dry all, year, fingertips splitting in winter, all that fun stuff. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula is my HG, but I wanted to add another cream, preferably with urea, for winter. (AmLactin is great and easily available, but I can’t stand the smell.) So I checked the MUA Reviews database and found out about Dermal Therapy. After checking them out online, I decided to try their products. I’m glad that I did. The Hand, Elbow & Knee Cream is a plain, white, thick (not as thick as Neutrogena, but not as thin as Cerave Cream), unscented cream that contains 15% Urea and 6% AHAs. It’s easy to apply (and should be applied to slightly damp hands–like just after you’ve washed and dried them, not dripping wet) and absorbs immediately, leaving no greasy feel. This cream has absolutely helped my hands–they retain moisture much better, look better, and I rarely get fingertip cracks since I started using it. Although the site states that it can be used as many times a day as you wish, I only use it before bed. I wash my hands, dry them, and immediately apply a generous amount. I follow that up with a coat of CeraVe cream and let it absorb wile I read. Then I top it off with a generous application of Neutrogena Norwegian Formula mixed with a dab of CeraVe Healing Ointment. (Yes, problem hands. Sometimes they’re so bad that they hurt.) I don’t find that I need to wear gloves–my sheets don’t get greasy–but occasionally I do, although I don’t think it makes much of a difference.
So I’ve been using this for a year now, and I plan to keep using it. It’s made a noticeable difference in the condition of my hands, and that seems to persist after I’ve washed it off. It’s plain, but its unscented, it gets the job done, and the price is reasonable ($11 for a 3.5 oz. tube, which goes a long way for me since I only use it once or twice daily). My only quibble is that it has a screw-off rather than a flip-top lid (chasing a screw-off lid around when I drop it is not my idea of a good time when I want to go to sleep). I have repurchased several times.
BTW, Dermal Therapy is a Canadian company. You can buy the products from US sellers, but I find it less expensive to order from the manufacturer (I am not affiliated) because US sellers jack the price up and make it more expensive than ordering direct. And I have not had to pay any duties, only the stated shipping cost. JMO.
