   This is a nice enough foundation, nice finish and yellow toned shades which is quite rare for drugstore foundations which tend to lean really pink/red. However it contains alcohol denat (the bad type of alcohol found in cosmetics- known for drying out skin) and perfumed fragrance! After discovering these ingredients I refuse to wear it and would not recommend to anyone because of these ingredients. Such a shame a large cosmetic company such as this would include perfume and alcohol denat in their products.

   Tl;dr:
   – easily blended with a sponge, beginner-friendly
   – coverage on tinted moisturizer level, not so buildable
   – non-drying and fresh on me
   – might be actually bad for dry and sensitive skin, see below

   I almost used up a bottle, and I mostly liked it during the time. It is really fresh and hydrating for my normal/dehydrated skin. It feels really nice. The finish is natural. It has some glycerin (it has almost the same effect as hyaluronic acid), panthenol, some extracts. As many water-based foundations, it is actually a water-silicone blend. Nothing really bad about silicones (search for Kevin James Bennett’s post about cosmetic silicones if you are interested). They actually give the gel its smooth texture and blendability.

   It gives a light coverage so I usually end up using at least two pumps, though I like a thin layer of base except spot concealing. I think this product is a good way to start with foundations if you don’t know much. It is blended in an instant if you use a damp sponge. It doesn’t set or dry down so you can spend as much time as you need. It wears ok for the amount of coverage.

   However, lately I have been using brushes for foundation. I feel that even hydrating makeup cannot compensate for watering down my skincare. And this foundation irritates the hell out of me if when I use it in my new routine. It’s kind of too light in coverage but cakey at the same time on different parts of my face. All the reddish and dry skin is visible around my nose (and sponge is not absorbing anything anymore!), but it collects on high points of my cheeks which are actually the smoothest area of my face.

   The packaging is I think one of the best in drugstore. Cute but very compact. The bottle is plastic, so it’s light and easy to take on a trip for instance. It has a good pump. You can unscrew it and get inside if you need it for some reason. Very practical.

   I’m sorry I can’t give a 4/5 given how frustrating it is to use in my current routine. I think it is very beginner-friendly, but not amateur- or pro-friendly. I moved on from the stage where I was worried about blending so much, now I want results and more control. I prefer a more full coverage yet blendable foundation, so I can blend it out and use it longer, instead of applying 3 pumps for a look. Or a thicker tinted moisturizer to make it a quick 1-step application.

   If you have sensitive, thin, very dry skin, it can worsen the condition because it’s so thin and watery. As I mentioned, water can dissolve your skincare. Makeup sponges are also impossible to fully sanitize, so in combination with more water and a water-based foundation it can lead to irritation. You keep beating silicones and water into your pores. Which might be okay for some, but if you have these conditions beware. I’m kinda anti-sponge now lol. It also doesn’t help that using a wet sponge or sprays creates that hydrating feeling, but in the end you will spend the rest of your day in what’s left on your face.

   I’m confused by this product. This is recomended by so many youtubers as one of the best foundations for dry skin. My skin is very dry and easily dehyrdated, plus prone to acne. This has worsened by skin’s condition over the several days I’ve been using it (I’ve used it every day for over a week for sure). The first 2-3 days I actually loved how it looked on my skin, but then I started breaking out. My skin was also feeling very tight and extremely dehydrated. I started using a heavier moisturizer as I thought my usual La Roche-Posay Toleriane SensitiveI Fluide was not enough for early winter weather, but I did not help, I still looked super dry and therefore older than I am, and with a lot of redness.
   I stopped using this foundation and guess what… My skin started clearing up, my LRP moisturizer turned out to be sufficient for my skin and the redness disappeared. So I’m sure this foundation was causing all that
   As I said, I bought this as youtubers were saying this was perfect for dry, aging skin. Well, I guess I shouldn’t trust youtubers 😉 I think they try out so many products that they rarely get to use one product consistently over a couple of days – and this stuff really looks lovely initially, you really need to be using it for some time for the “fun” to begin

   This foundation is amazing its one of my favourites! It’s very smooth and easy to blend, and it feels kind of nice on the skin (feels kind of cooling). It gives sheer to medium coverage, and considering I dont have a lot to cover, I can build it up to medium coverage and it looks great. My sister has acne prone skin and didnt like its finish on her skin though, so it might not be suitable for all skin tones. It also smells amazing a bit fresh and fruity! I also like the colour match on my skin. Overall, this is a very good natural everyday foundation.

   Gorgeous foundation for a dewy, no makeup makeup type look. It has a beautiful skin-like texture and it is very buildable as well.

   For me, however, it’s not The One. It doesn’t have enough coverage for my taste and I’m a lady who doesn’t like to faff about with extra spot concealing. I also get shiny about three hours in, even with powder. I generally fix this problem by using a primer and setting spray, which may not be ideal for others.

   I suspect that folks who love Glossier’s Skin Tint or MAC’s Face and Body foundation will love this, provided that they find an adequate shade match. Shade 55 matches my NC35-38 skin quite nicely at the moment. Any darker than that, you won’t find a proper match.

   Price-wise, it’s fairly expensive for a high street brand at 10.99 pounds, but I do think it’s quite nice for someone in the market for a luminous foundation. The pump is handy, the glass bottle is nice, there’s not much to complain about if your skin is normal to dry. If you’re oily skinned or need loads of coverage, forget about it.

   +has sheer to medium buildable coverage
   +has a pretty,almost dewy finish
   +there’s a good match for me(51)but 52 is wearable too

   -almost impossible to find in my country
   -no oil control
   -it has scent(not too strong though)

   It’s been a long time that I wished this foundation was available in my country.most Bourjois products are available here but not this one.reading the reviews gave me the idea that this foundation can be The one for me,something that would sit well on my dry skin and give me the skin-like,no makeup makeup look that I like.when I saw that I can’t put my hands on this foundation,decided to try Healthy Mix Foundation and bought it in shade 51 which was a great decision.Healthy Mix Foundation is literally one of the best foundations I have ever had.I like it better than my Givenchy,Estee Lauder,Guerlain,It Cosmetics and a few other high-end foundation I have..well this one is even better than Healthy Mix Foundation!
   I was surprised to see a bottle of Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation sitting lonely in a dark corner of Bourjois stand in a local cosmetic shop.there was just one left and it was shade 52,eventhough I believed 51 is the right match for me I was still happy to find it in a wearable shade,I immediately paid the 8 USD and took it home with a heart full of hope,happiness and excitement
   It didn’t disappoint.about the shade,I am Mac Face&Body C1 and while I still believe 51 might be a better match,I can happily wear 52 too.it’s not too dark for me,doesn’t look off and fortunately doesn’t oxidize badly(foundations rarely oxidize on my face).I swatched 51 in Healthy Mix Foundation and 52 in Healthy Mix Serum Gel,the latter is definitely a little bit darker but it has more yellow undertone which I prefer while 51 in HMF looks a bit peachy on my fair skin with golden undertone
   It’s packaging is as good as Healthy Mix Foundation’s (I love Bourjois products packaging),they seem to have the similar scent,something fresh flowery which I like(I’m used to more strongly scented foundations like Guerlain,Yves Rocher,Givenchy,It Cosmetics CC Cream,Bourjois City Radiance,etc..)
   About it’s consistency,I don’t find it something gel-like or serum-like.it’s like a slightly more creamy Healthy Mix Foundation(Healthy Mix Foundation is more on the liquid side)but not that it’s a thick cream.it really feels lightweight,blends like a dream and melts in skin.I moisturize my skin with a lightweight moisturizer(St.Ives Collagen Moisturizing Cream),then use a primer(Maybelline Baby Skin or Rimmel Lasting Finish),use a concealer for my dark cycles(Bourjois 123/Rimmel Match Perfection/Maybelline Age Rewind)then use two pumps of Healthy Mix Foundation,spread it with a brush(usually WetnWild flat top foundation brush),then do the final blends by tapping a damp beauty blender dupe on my face.on my bad skin days or whenever I need more coverage I can use a third pump on the spots I want and this doesn’t make it look cakey or mask like.the other steps in my daily makeup routine is using Bourjois Bronzer and Blush,a bit of TheBalm MaryLou Manizer Highlighter,,sometimes dust a touch of powder on my nose and under eyes,other times finish by Nyx Dewy Setting Spray
   It looks really good,very natural/skin like.the other most natural base makeups I have ever had are Mac Face&Body and WetnWild Photofocus mixed with a light weight moisturizer.but Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation provides more coverage than the other two options(Photofocus has much more coverage by itself but doesn’t sit well on my dryskin if I don’t mix it with a moisturizer which lowers it’s coverage to very sheer)
   Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation has sheer to medium coverage(more on the medium side),a bit less than Healthy Mix Foundation but still enough to blur the pores,even out my skin and cover the redness of my cheeks.most foundations that claim to be dewy,radiant,glowy or luminous look matte or satin like at their best on my dry skin but this one is one of the rare cases that really has an almost dewy finish but not as dewy as some BB creams or tinted moisturizers that make the whole face look moisturized/wet.it doesn’t look cakey even a bit.doesn’t make,my skin look dry or greasy.doesn’t sink in my pores,doesn’t show up the dry parts of my skin,doesn’t crease around my nose(most foundations do that) and looks as if I have minimal makeup
   most foundations look terrible on my face after 4 hours.they look heavy,as if they’re just sitting on top of my skin and not melting in,look patchy and powdery and start to show dry patches around my mouth and on my jaws while my nose and forehead look shiney(I don’t have oily tzone,they’re just normal while the rest of my skin is dry.I guess putting on rich moisturizing creams is the reason of this shiny/oily look),this doesn’t happen with this foundation.yes,it looks a bit less skin like/more heavy as time passes(specially around my mouth) but if I carry a beauty blender sponge in my bag and tap it on those areas,it seems to melt and blend in again.it also fades away on tip of my nose but It’s probably because I blow my nose a lot during the day.it looks better when I don’t powder my face but my nose will look very shiney in that case
   seems to fade away sooner than Healthy Mix Foundation but looks a bit more skin like/less heavy at the end of the day.when I compare these two,they are very close(on my skin),HMF has a bit more coverage and is slightly less dewy but HMSGF sits and looks a bit better on my skin.I prefer Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation but if I can’t find it after finishing this bottle,I’m ok with repurchasing Healthy Mix Foundation instead

   I have wanted to try this foundation for several years after seeing it reviewed on YT and also Lisa Eldridge. However, the ingredients containing alcohol always stopped me. Normally, I get redness/reactions from alcohol in foundations (tried several – including the newest L’oreal Fresh wear) and they bother my skin. Also, this isn’t sold locally in the USA, so swatches and purchasing is a struggle.

   Well, I finally gave in and bought a bottle off Ebay (decent seller and good ratings/reviews) shade 51 for my NC15/20 skin (and the shade is perfect) and I’m surprised that so far (after 2 weeks) it does NOT seem to bother my skin! I have pretty clear skin except for the random flare up from hormones or a skin product – but I do have melasma – I think this is not as light coverage as many have stated. For me, one pump applied with a brush (which I found works best) gives me really nice coverage – even for my melasma. Better than my NARS Gobi. The color is also better for me (than Gobi) which I found a hair too light.

   I also have oily T zone but dry elsewhere from topical acne lotion, and this isn’t that dewy for me. I get shiny in my T-zone – but that’s pretty normal, but nothing out of control. I also find a primer works to help with that, being that this formula is thin and has some additional “extracts” to make it more susceptible to breaking down on your skin. Because of the alcohol content, I do not have to powder this right away. If I do – I’ll get too dry and flaky. So I leave it alone and just blot when need be. I have found this to apply sometimes splotchy on the one side of my face that has some uneven texture, but using a damp sponge on those areas (instead of a brush) works better. Applies smoothly and easily with a brush (Zoeva 110) and also just as fine with an RT sponge. I say RT because a more stiff/firm sponge works better since this foundation is more runny and can be absorbed by the sponge. When using sponge, I have to do 2 pumps for my whole face, vs. if I use my Zoeva brush, one pump is all I need (which is why I prefer a brush). I also find that it washes off easily at the end of the day. I use a micellar baby wipe (super cheap) and at the end of a 9 hour day – I still have a ton of makeup that comes off my face on the wipe – so this doesn’t wear off so fast for me as it has for others. The scent is fine, I thought it strong at first, now I don’t even notice it. It’s a nice fresh smell, not of alcohol (like Fresh Wear). The alcohol is also lower on the ingredient list than the other alcohol laden foundations I tried, which is why I think it hasn’t bothered my skin. Makes a difference.

   Overall – I really am happy to have this in my collection! Will repurchase for sure!

   I have mixed feelings about the Bourjois Serum Gel foundation, now let me tell you why..

   Let’s start of with some pros:
   – easy to apply and blend
   – fresh smell (definitely not too strong)
   – you have time to blend and move it around as it’s not really setting itself
   – sheer to medium coverage
   – lightweight and luminous
   – it makes your skin look very natural and healthy

   Now all these points are amazing and I couldn’t really think of any negative ones, if it would work out for me…sadly it did not..

   My cons:
   – my skin and the foundation do not like each other…the foundation doesn’t really melt into my skin but sits strange on top of it
   – I didn’t felt comfortable wearing it for the whole day as I always thought it would melt of my face (that was the feeling it gave me)
   – Had to set it with a lot of setting powder, where I had to use a lot more than I normally would
   – Creased a lot in my T-Zone as I have a drier combination skin (oily – T-zone and dry -cheeks)
   – Even though I used a lot of powder the foundation moved around and would let marks behind every time I touched my face.

   Now I used this foundation as I would use every foundation…same moisturiser, same application technique and same powder!

   And it sadly did not work for me! I do not continue using it + I wouldn’t buy it again!

    I bought this because Lisa Eldridge is on record (video clips) as saying Healthy Mix is almost undetectable under magnification. That’s how I have found it, the product surpassing Nars, Estee, Arden and others. The only other that matched it was YSL at four times the price. I have grown used to the herbal scent and I have total confidence in the product producing the no make up-makeup look. I’m heading for ‘When I’m sixty four’ and my aim in life is to make my make up look ‘little to no make up’. I don’t have deep lines or wrinkles, I have fine lines and redness from many years of hot flushes, so I just want something to look dewy and natural. This product is great.
