I also received this in my Ipsy subscription bag in the beautiful classic red shade “Diva”. I’m hooked. It’s very smooth, soft, and easy to apply. The color is a vibrant red that matches its name, and it dries down to a gentle matte finish. It’s scent is mild and the applicator is precise, not big and bulky like others.
I’ve tried many liquid lipstick formulas and Ciate’s Liquid Velvet is one of the LEAST drying, which is fantastic! It’s more similar to Stila’s liquid lipsticks. However, the drawbacks to a moisturizing liquid matte lipstick is that it transfers. Liquid matte lipsticks like Kat Von D, Colourpop, and Smashbox are very dry and thus do not transfer. Even though Ciate will transfer if you kiss your partner, it doesn’t slip around on your lips and doesn’t feather or fade at all, even after you’ve eaten (as I just now found out!). It stays on for hours. Well worth the money!

I got this in my November Ipsy bag in “Diva” and was super excited about the color as I’m a fair freckled blonde. The color is gorgeous and perfect for the fall. That’s about where it ends. I put liner on underneath and wipe this over my lips on top and it looks gorgeous… until it gets ALL OVER EVERYTHING. Face. Fingers. Shirt. Life.

I have the shade Diva- A bright red shade that says “look at me”. It’s beautiful and flattering for all skin tones. Initially it looks like a shade I would never dare wear, but one morning I decided to wear it, loved it and started wearing it daily. After I have my coffee, I do have to reapply because this stuff will bleed all over the place. I mean it is still there slightly, but it will not be neat. It’s best to keep it in your mu bag to reapply. It does not have the staying power of Kat Von D’s Liquid Lipsticks because this is more of a moisture based matte. Also I don’t care what the ad says- yes you do need a lip liner. Like the other reviewer says, this is more like those liquid lipsticks from NYX that’s basically a lipgloss semi-matte.
