My favorite summer shade. A sheer peach in a glossy, hydrating formula. Looks great with minimal makeup. Will definitely repurchase.

Celeste is a lovely spring/summer shade of warm pink, and it suits me much better than Lulu, which I loved in the tube but not on my lips.
My lips are pretty pigmented, so this sheer a lipstick doesn’t stand much of a chance. I realize that isn’t the product’s fault, but when Celeste wore off, I didn’t get a lovely stain. To be fair, the texture is very soft and cushiony. It reminds me of Julie Hewett’s Camellia Lip Balm, but the color of the Bijou lipsticks have about as much staying power as the tinted camellia balms. And I like sheer, just not this sheer.

I am madly in love with this product. It’s my perfect shade, wears well, feels great, and is quite simply lovely. The shade is a corally-peachy-pink that I adore, and the pigmentation is relatively sheer. For me at least, this can be easily applied without a mirror, and despite the coral undertones could never be described as garish (despite what the Julie Hewitt website may depict). It is as soft and moisturizing as a tinted balm, although of course it isn’t going to have the chapped healing capabilities of, say, a Chapstick and wears quite lightly on the lips. I think that the lasting power is above average for such a moisturizing product but nothing extraordinary. Depending on what I’m doing, this usually lasts a few hours. The packaging is simple and chic: sturdy black plastic on the outside, silver on the inside, with no tacky labels or overtly decorative elements. At $20 this isn’t the most economical lipstick on the market, but it’s not highway robbery either. There’s a slightly plasticky scent that I could do without, but there’s very little to complain about this product. I would definitely recommend and repurchase. Similar products that I’ve found are: MAC Slimshine in Funshine (about $15), Stila in Chelsea (about $22, but, BUT it does have SPF 22), and Revlon Beyond Natural Lip Tint in Rosy (about $7).

What can I say about Celeste lipstick, other than this is just a happy color. Celeste is a soft pink / peach shade w/ a sheer finish & no shimmer or frost. Like Olivia stated in her review, this shade is what you think of as a “spring time” color. It looks bright in the tube, but it really is sheer on the lips. In fact, I wish it was a little less sheer. This does show up on my lips when I wear it on its own, but I wish it showed up a little more. However, if I wear it w/ Julie Hewett’s Hue # 009 lip liner (soft peach w/ a little brown to it), it shows up more & looks better on me. Although the lipstick formula is sheer, it wears pretty well. But it does wear off if you eat or drink. Overall, a great lipstick, except for the one caveat I mentioned.
