I feel the need to put a disclaimer at the beginning of this review – I don’t like Soap & Glory. I’ve yet to find a single one of their products I like or enjoy using. That doesn’t stop me from trying their products though, on the off-chance that one day I might just find the one that wins me over. Sadly, this lip gloss isn’t it. I used this a total of once and that was more than enough. Whatever is in this that causes the tingling sensation went into absolute overdrive on me, to the point where it was physically painful. It felt like I’d been stung on the face by a bunch of nettles! Within about 5 minutes of applying it I had to thoroughly wash it off as it hurt that much. I would advise caution for anyone who has sensitive skin like me, as there’s as possibility this could be an irritant. Needless to say, it went straight in the trash.

I think I must be lucky, as this product, although it’s not designed for this purpose, has completely replaced my need for lip balm. I used to buy three or four jars of the Nuxe lip balm at a time. No more. This, in a light shade (can’t remember the name) is in my purse, my bedside table, my bathroom, and my kitchen. It plumps (I like the tingle, but I know not everyone does), moisturizes, and makes my lips look kissable. I have had zero chapped lips or flaky lip skin since I started using it. It’s a HG for me.

I love soap and glory products especially the lip range, so I was rather delighted that my sister gave me this from her set as she’s not big on lip products. I have to say I’m really disappointed as its really thick and gloopy 🙁
*update
I had to bin it as it made me look silly.

I got the shade ‘candy queen’ and I absolutely adore the colour, it’s pretty and doesn’t look horrificly unnatural, the formula is quite thick but doesn’t feel uncomfortably thick, the smell is strong but pleasant with a smell of chocolate and orange, however the extreme tingling and burning sensation puts me off of the product, my lips felt like they were vibrating and the feeling continued for over half an hour, it starts to become painful fairly quickly and even if you remove the product the tingle continues to linger, also I only saw a tiny difference in the plumpness of my lips, this difference was definitely not worth the pain, because of this I wouldn’t use the product again.

I have one of these, and it does really give my lips a fuller look. Are they shiny or actually plumped? I don’t know. It does sting a lot, so I assume there’s some extra blood flow there, but either way the gloss is nice and flattering. I am not a huge gloss lover, but every once in a while I do want shiny lips, so why not plump them up too? I like that this product is affordable, and even with the stinging sensation it doesn’t cause any adverse reactions.

I bought this at target on Christmas clearance. After 5 minutes I hurriedly wiped it off. Maybe I’ll get the guts to leave it on, but it was BEYOND tingly; my lips felt like they were on fire and would shortly erupt in a horrible rash that would lead people to believe I have oral herpes. So I wussed out and took it off.

People sure do like this, but I’m not one of them. The gloss itself is nice — it’s a good consistency — but I’m not a fan of the odor and definitely not a fan of the tingling. It doesn’t tingle like a peppermint tingle. For me it produces a pins and needles feeling just like when your foot falls asleep. It’s not very pleasant, and it lasts a good 10 – 15 minutes. And it doesn’t do a very good job of plumping. I notice a small difference, but I would need to see a lot more to endure the pain. I like Buxom’s lip-plumping gloss better. The tingle is pleasant and I see more plumping.

Got mine in the shade ‘candy queen’, beautiful sheer gloss, lovely colour. However, I find the stinging to be quite intense and can really burn my lips. I notice them getting a little bit bigger (about 5/10 bigger than normal), but in my opinion the gloss really does burn my lips. However, beautiful colour, light weight, can’t feel anything on my lips, and does slightly plum them. 7/10 recommend 🙂

I’ve loved Soap and Glory products since I first saw them at Target years ago (what happened to that?!) and I thought they were expensive. So when I was in the market for a new lip gloss, I discovered that the Ulta near me had these babies in stock, so I picked up the shade “Plumsup” and while it’s not very pigmented at all, I find it creates a mauve flush on my lips that looks natural and pretty. All other shades in this collection would be nearly clear on my lips and I’m not into that. But this shade does the trick for me.
I really love the consistency. It lasts long without being overly sticky. It’s not so slick that it slides off or migrates outside my lip line. It feels hydrating and comfortable. I can’t attest to the plumping factor, as I don’t really pay attention to that, but I can say that healthy, hydrated lips are always more plump than dry, crinkled lips. It does tingle and sting more than, say, a Buxom gloss, but I like that sensation. It’s not for everyone though.
The smell is like chocolate cake. Mmmmmm…
Price-wise, at $10, it’s right around the higher side of drugstore. I remember when S&G was more expensive than that, so I’m not going to complain.
The packaging is sleek and simple, and the doefoot applicator grabs enough product without going over the top.
I’ll definitely repurchase.

I stopped wearing lipgloss at about age 15 and hadnt worn it since because I hate lipgloss, it feels uncomfortable and I don’t like how it looks when its on but last Christmas my mother bought me a soap and glory gift set and this was in it in a lovely nude pink shade, I tried it out and loved it, I wear it regularly as its subtle, comfortable and stays put. Almost a year later ive still got loads left, ill repurchase when it runs out. Also it smells lovely and does slightly plump my lips.
