I started using this as a result of a very unsettling string of events in which my MOTHER saw an ad on FACEBOOK and that actually prompted her to purchase one for each of us. The only way I can sleep at night is that she doesn’t use Instagram.
Before confessing this to me she kept it in-house for a few weeks and when she noticed an impressive improvement in the condition of her lips (smoother, appeared a bit plumper) she gave me a tube.
I’ve now purchased this several times and have one for bedside and one for my bag.
Here’s the thing – in my opinion of course – what makes this so excellent is that it moisturizes the lips so phenomenally that it’s actually changed my life. I mean, I didn’t sell my apartment and travel the world or anything but my somewhat chronic lip chapping has not happened once since using this. Not one time. And it’s been over a year.
This doesn’t have any of the burning cooling stinging sensations I associate with other products that make similar claims which is a huge plus for me because Im not a fan of that feeling and I suspect it’s all bells and whistles (because it is).
The truth is that the skin on my lips is so improved that yes they appear plumper. Without a doubt. I’m a habitual bright-red lipstick wearer and for reasons I myself can’t explain I’ve for the most part stopped wearing lipstick altogether. This stuff just feels so good and looks good too.
It isn’t too sticky it’s not greasy and it stays put FOR HOURS. it’s like a shield of moisture and shine.
I’ve tried a good amount of high end lip products – Bite Agave lip mask, La Mer lip products, and several others that have been hyped over the years but this is the only one I’ve repurchased.
I get that City Cosmetics admittedly has a slightly shady vibe, mainly because of all the other independent companies with products making too-good-to-be-true claims, but this is a truly quality lip product that does it all and does it well. No scent no sting and no testing on animals!

How NICE to purchase a product that WORKS! I’m 62 and my lips, which were always on the thin side, have lots of wrinkles and just look flat. Well, with the first application, I realized my lip had less wrinkles and looked fuller! Not “trout-pout” fuller, but definitely fuller, softer, and less wrinkles. I couldn’t stop pulling out my mirror- this is day one!I I had no stinging at all. I’m not a fan of glosses in general, but I will certainly keep using this product!

First of all, beware of the untrustworthyness of this company. They have a guarantee of this item, return within 60 days and they refund money. I’ve read a lot of reviews that you will end up calling them on why after returning the item there still has been no refund. The cust rep said they have no record of return. They asked for a tracking number, thank goodness, I listened to reviews and got one. Then the cust rep replied, ohhh, okay, since I see you did send it back we’ll issue refund. What??!!! I’m sure it was in the record that I returned but they wait for that call from customer to issue it, hoping you’ll forget about the refund or never got a tracking number.
As far as the product. Nothing. Just a gloss. And the main ingredient that produces plump, you’ll find it in other cheaper products. In fact I found a product that not only has city lips ‘magical ingredient’ but lip fusion’s as well. All in one for $6.00. Contact me if you want the name. I’m not promoting it, don’t work for them, etc. Just saving you money and educating you.

I found some amazing discount codes via Instagram by just searching the hashtag “CityLips.” I was even able to use two coupon codes for one transaction of 2 glosses, so I got the “Clear” and “Los Angeles” for an AMAZING price, especially compared to the original total. In terms of comparing the shades, I would say that the “Clear” gives more a plumped look than “LA,” but I tend to use “LA” a lot more since it’s a pretty and wearable shade.
I know there’s been a lot of hype around this product, and although I like it, I wouldn’t say that I’m all that impressed with it. The gloss does not last very long on the lips, even without drinking or eating. It makes the lips feel tingly and heated, like most plumping glosses do, which I don’t mind. And, I didn’t find the plumping aspect of it to be all that different from other glosses. To be honest, I think most lip glosses make the lips look fuller because they basically just coat the lips with a layer of thick, shiny goop. I would say, however, that I appreciate that the glosses aren’t super sticky and heavy feeling like some annoying glosses can be.
If you’re a lip gloss gal, like I am, or if you’re curious as to how this works, then I would say to give this a try, but ONLY with the discount code(s) because it’s frankly not worth the original price.

Ok this is expensive and I thought if they are back my full refund guarantee I would just try it and see for myself. I bought it online and it got shipped to me in less then a week. Try it the first night and the next morning my lips was plump and soft. I thought this could be a fluke. Maybe I drank a lot of water yesterday. I try it again the next night, I noticed less lines on my lips the next morning. I begin to feel less dry on my lips and therefore I apply less lip balm during the day. I have full lips already so the plumping isn’t noticeable to others but me. Overall , I would buy it again if I ran out. I am thinking of trying their eye cream.

Ok check out the reviews for City Lips here, at Amazon, and even on YouTube and you will most likely come to the conclusion that all the good ones are FAKE. the youtube ones are what really get me. The videos are always by someone who was either paid to say nice things about the product or they were sent the product for free in return for a rave review. All or most of the girls reviewing this on youtube are massive phonies. To the point I can barely even get thru an entire video because of how obvious it is that their opinions arent honest ones.
I found this product (the Advanced Clear one) on a really good sale and thought that despite all the fake reviews, I would try it.
It tingles slightly for like a minute and then is just a gooey, heavy, disgusting gloss that does absolutely nothing. What more is there to say? If you want a gross gloss that doesn’t plump or look nice then sure go for this.
Otherwise i say try the new XXL (no not the XL) by Lip Fusion. It is super pricey but is often on sale on Groupon or other sites and it does what it claims. Other than that I think the cheapest ones that work are the Maybelline Baby Lips balms. With religious use they make my lips nice and plump! So cheap too.

I agree 100% with the prior reviwer. This stuff is GREAT!!! It keeps my lips feeling hydrated all night and doesn’t wear off while I am sleeping like most lip balms, chapsticks, etc. It definitely instantly hydrates and plumps. During the day, I can wear it under any brand of lipstick (you just have to wait a few minutes before applying the lip color after applying the plumper). It keeps the lipstick more even and moist, yet isn’t really shiny (I prefer a more matte lip). It keeps lipstick on hours longer and you can add a little more plumper during the day with or without adding more lipstick.It aslo makes bare lips look a bit more pink, so without makeup I have a little more color and volume. Even my husband noticed how much better my dry chapped lips looked and he thinks cosmetics are bunk! Definite new must have for me!

From the moment I tried the clear lip plumper I loved it. I’m 65 and was beginning to see those “lip bleeding lines,” yuk! I was lucky to have been born with full lips so the lines weren’t noticeable for a long time. One time an injection caused me to look like “Bozo the Clown.” I couldn’t even hold a straw in my mouth. Now that I’ve discovered City Lips along with all their other great products…skin care, etc…I’m dropping all other brands of lip and skim care. City Lips is thick so be aware. However it worked on me within a month and stayed on all night. My lips were always peeling and dry but now even in the morning they are moist and plump. My friends are giving me compliments about “injections”…NOT! I love this product and have given it away to those weren’t blessed with full lips. Before City lips I was applying lip balms that wore off almost immediately. I use it during the day too and I don’t use lip-liner any longer.
