This is in a glass tub, I would like it better in a plastic tube so that it doesn’t scratch up the other items in my makeup bag. The gloss has a cheap old fashioned smell to it that kind of tuns me off… but the color is gorgeous! Especially over nude lipstick that needs just that extra something, this is perfect! I layered it over my Benefit Ladys Choice l/s and it cooled the color just enough for my NC25-30 skintone. It also gave it a more natural finish. This sheer gloss isn’t too sticky either although like any other gloss, I will avoid wearing it out with my haor loose on a windy day. Overall I think the benefits outweigh the negatives on this one. Repurchase? Maybe.
12/9/09 UPDATE: Had to return it. I could NOT stand the nasty taste of this gloss. Pee eww!

I love this color, may be too bright, just apply with a light finger and it will be a nice eye popping color and shine.
it’s great when you have to little makeup and just need something to brighten you face without going overboard.
It is expensive though, $24 as the listing price.

I wear Hot Wired as a balm underneath other lipsticks, including Nars own Funny Face. While Hot Wired appears bright in the pot and upon application, it quickly wears down to a slightly bright YLBB shade.
Surprisingly, Hot Wired lacks enough punch for me. Somewhere in between application and how it looks ten minutes later would be perfect, but this doesn’t last. While there is still product on the lips (a somewhat tacky and resilient texture), the bright color has disappeared. Since I didn’t care for Hot Wired as a gloss on top of lipsticks, I tried it as a balm underneath the dry lipsticks and it works wonderfully. I’d been annoyed at having spent $24.00 on a product I wasn’t going to use, but this has now worked out in an unexpected way.
As a balm/undercoat, Hot Wired either lessens the vividness of something like Funny Face or kicks up color of matte lipsticks like Pigalle, adding gloss and dimension.
I’m not going to repurchase this, but it is fun to experiment with it and the different looks and colors of lipsticks with which it might be paired.
