I’m on the fence about this one. Love the packaging, and the product looks great once it’s applied. I bought Boudoir, a peachy pink with a little gold shimmer. I just don’t find it lasts very long. It fades evenly, which is good, but I’m expecting more of a stain out of this one and it didn’t deliver. Plus the smell is a really OTT powdery floral. It fades eventually, but until then I find it rather unpleasant and I don’t even mind scent very much.

Holy grail for me, combines a true lip stain with a non-matte finish. Staying power is fabulous & when it does wear down it’s even – not patchy or on the lip rim. The colors are full-on, bolder looks; however, they do have some newer releases in nude pinks. I selected 200 Night Berry which is a darker berry color, at first I thought it would be too dark for my NC15 pale skin but the finish is amazing! I’m definitely going to check the lighter shade releases. I really didn’t want to fall in love with a $38 lip product but this is worth it!

Have this in 501 and love it! I can not wear lipsticks in general or glosses with mint/menthol (all of these make my lips peel), but do not have a problem with these. This shade is a great bright spring/summer pinky-coral shade. It leave behind a stain and I don’t have to worry about it while I’m running around at work. The hard part is reapplying – that’s when I find it can go on unevenly. I usually have to put a balm on and wipe off any remaining product before reapplying. But again, that’s very infrequent, so I don’t mind for the gorgeous color and not peeling lips.
I tried shade 511 as well and while that looks like a slightly mauve YLBB in the tube, it turned brick red on me. Not the color I was going for. That shade went back. Wish they made a medium rosy-nude.

PRO’S: It is more longlasting than YSL’s and Dior’s lipstains. It has a beautiful glossy look. Lovely packaging. CON’S: It doesn’t wear off much evenly. It tastes like sucking on some cheap plastic!! Very synthetic and bitter taste. Do not lick your lips while wearing it, nor think about wearing it on a date, just in case!!

This burnt my lips. Burned them. I used it for a couple of days, the sparkly lighter pink shade “Fatale.” First it created dehydration lines along my lip line. Then my lips peeled and turned a darker shade. It has been a couple of weeks and they are getting back to normal. I hate to rip on a product, but this is what happened.

Ecstasy Lacquer is a new (2015) gloss-stain hybrid by Armani. The blend of a gloss and stain is new to me, and the result is like nothing I’ve used before. The consistency of the product is thin, like a varnish, and it “seals” moisture into the lips, keeping them comfortably hydrated for hours. It’s slightly sticky, enough to keep it in place and provide that “sealing” effect, but not hair-trapping flypaper sticky like MAC Lipglass, nor does it create the dreaded “white ring” on the inside of the lips. The colors are sheer and buildable with additional layers. Think high-gloss wood varnish for the lips. I’d give it 5+ lippies if it weren’t for three things: first, I’m not keen on the color selection. Almost all are brights and they lean cool, with the exception of a few pronounced oranges. Since my olive skin makes cool tones look cartoonish, I wish there were more nude-to-brown-based colors. I have 503 (Fatale, a beautifully luminescent sheer muted mauve) and 500 (Vintage, a shimmery, sheer coral pink). I’m awaiting 501, Uptown, a non-shimmery light-to-medium pink. My second gripe is the doe foot applicator. It’s too long so I’m guaranteed to apply outside the lines of my lips if I rest the whole thing on my lip, as one does with doe foot applicators. It really should be a brush given the brightness and staining of the colors; it’s hard to draw a precise line with a doe foot applicator. Third, it’s expensive at $38. I don’t yet know how long it’ll last, but that could be the dealbreaker. On the other hand, the formula is out of this world, long-lasting and comfortable without the goopy feeling of typical lipglosses or the need to reapply every 30 minutes. So close to holy grail status but not quite there.
