I’m a huge fan of Olaplex 3 and the shampoo and conditioner as well. I got all the products in a holiday set so I’ve been using them for several months now (October-January). Everything smells really good, with the same fresh and clean sweet citrus fragrance. The #6 leave-in is the one I feel most conflicted about. My hair is long, thick, and color treated including balayage. So what I want in a leave-in product is something that will hydrate my hair, add shine, make it soft and manageable, and smooth enough so that I don’t need to heat style. This product definitely adds shine and smooths, but it doesn’t give me the moisture and softness that I really want. When I use it on dry hair, this only amplifies how good it is at smoothing and reducing frizz, but again still no real moisture or hydration. In all fairness, I don’t think Olaplex really advertises this is a true leave-in conditioner. The packaging isn’t great, hard to dispense and it doesn’t balance well on the cap when I put it upside down. Overall, I’m definitely going to keep using this and would probably repurchase, but with the caveat that this isn’t a product which addresses all my needs.

I actually love what this product does for me. Gave my hair shine and smelled good. Also cut down on my blow dry time and made my hair feel like a dream!
All that said, I probably will not repurchase as I have found other products that do the same for a much better price for example the Verb ghost blowdry lotion. Its less than half the price and does everything olaplex 6 does except for having the active ingredient that olaplex and it isn’t as heavy as olaplex.
I do really like the product though and recommend it if you have the money. A little goes a very long way!

My stylist “cocktailed” this with Olaplex 7, the oil. The result was soft, manageable hair with great shine. I watched him dispense the product into his hand – – very little was used. And yes, interesting observation – – he did keep the bottle upside down at his work station. I will remember that before using for the first time on my own. Great product!

Great stuff for taming frizzies and dry hair. It can also be added to color treatments and used with damp hair. Very effective and very versatile. The bottle is small, but you only need a tiny bit. It is somewhat hard to get out of the bottle, but turning it upside down works. If you use too much, you hair will be greasy, especially if it’s thin and fine like mine, so a little dab’ll do ya! I use a lot of other hair care products along with this one and don’t use this every day. But, when I do, my hair looks great!

All of you who cant get the product out of the bottle … store the bottle upside down. Problem solved. Lol
Seems like a decent finishing product for the ends, but not the best one I have used. I have colored hair and the top layer gets frizzy. You only need a very small amount otherwise hair looks too wet. I like the smell but I see others have complained. I don’t see that it does anything to seal or protect, it just seems to hydrate a bit. I’ll finish the bottle but for my hair I think I need something different. If all you need is a light finisher to smooth flyaways, a little of this will work great.

After being a die hard holy grail fan of Olaplex No.3, I was excited to try No.6. You only need a small amount for a silky smooth finish, if you can get the product out of the bottle. It is of very thick consistency and the poor packaging is extremely frustrating. I’ve returned the product & probably won’t purchase again, unless it is packaged in a tube or tub. I’ve returned to using Shu Uemura Essence Absolue & Kerastase Elixir Ultime (they are pricey but worth it) before I dry my hair and the results are excellent.

This was a disappointment to me, it weighed my hair down and left it feeling gunky and frizzy all day. I tried it three times and I’m done.
Edit: ended up getting this in an olaplex gift set and tried it again. It takes the smallest amount, and my winter hair seems to like it. I have to blow dry it in though, and I usually have to wash my hair the next day, so I added one more star.

Let’s start by saying that I absolutely LOVE Olaplex no.3 as it has done wonders for my heavily processed and damaged hair..which is why I didn’t not hesitate to plonk down the dough immediately when I saw the bond smoother No.6
I had high hopes and was left underwhelmed.
The citrusy floral fragrance is pleasant to me but some might find it offensive especially those who dislike the strong fragrances from Victoria secret.
Same bottle as the no.3 only difference is the cream is really thick and I had to open the cap to scoop some out with my finger.
Finally, results. None. None whatsoever except that when I applied a little too much it made my hair damp. It didn’t help with the flyaways or frizz. Upon applying it felt like it could have been hydrating (because maybe it was damp) but it seemed more dehydrated after a while.
I had to apply a different brand of leave in to counteract what it did to my hair
My hair smelled nice though. But I wouldn’t purchase it again.
Heck..I don’t even think I will be able to use this whole bottle

I have chin length hair that is bleached completely, originally dark brown, so I definitely have to take care of it to keep it in shape and healthy. I have been using Olaplex 3 since it came out, plus several other oils and moisturizing and protein conditioners — pretty much anything and everything I can throw on it to help. I bought this right away because of the Olaplex name, but to be honest I haven’t been that impressed. It really doesn’t make much of a noticeable difference in my hair when I use it … I used it a couple times a week at first per package instructions but now less often because as I said it doesn’t seem to do that much. My hair is not noticeably smoother or softer or more manageable after use. The packaging is awful because the stuff is thick and hard to squeeze out the small hole (and the bottle not soft enough to squeeze) so I doubt I’ll even get all the product out very easily. I would probably throw it out but given the price will likely keep and finish it because it’s not terrible even if it’s not great either. I’ll keep buying the Olaplex 3 but this product is a waste imo and I won’t be wasting my money on it again. I rarely take the time to write reviews either anymore but I felt I had to after reading all the others that raved about what I consider a completely inferior but expensive product that is selling itself only on their name, based on the success of the other (better) products in the line.

I use this everyday on my short pixie cut hair. I love it and don’t plan on being without it.
