I purchased the Velvet Sugar fragrance mist to go along with the body wash and lotion of the same scent. It is a very sugary, strawberry fragrance. I would say there is some level of a gourmand scent in there as well, perhaps more cupcake than vanilla. It is very pleasant and I received complements when I wore it, but I would probably not purchase again simply because it took me so long to pan the 3oz bottle. It is very strong for a “fragrance mist”, easily on par with the level and wear time of some weaker scented perfumes. When layered with the body wash and lotion, it can easily last all day. It’s a very wearable scent however and it is definitely worth a shot to see if you like it.

This is another scent I love from Bath and Body Works. It is very similiar to Rush from Victoria’s Secret. Very sweet, hence sugar in the name. You can definitely smell the strawberry, it’s not “fresh” strawberry smelling, but it is still great. I don’t find that it lasts on my skin, but it does on my clothes!
It’s a bummer that it is an online exclusive scent now, as it’s not worth it to order from Canada. I have a full sized bottle and half a travel sized left – hoping it will return to stores!

Oh, yummy yummy. This is like Aquolina Pink Sugar without the plastic note. Rather, it’s like Pink Sugar’s older sister, whose back home visiting her younger sister from college.
Obviously it’s gourmand and just a teensy bit more complex, although that’s not quite the right word for it. It’s got more notes that stand out, even as they blend together seamlessly.
I was lucky enough to snag a bottle of this online from BBW’s sale, so I’m happy as a clam right now.
I’m all about trying different scents, and I believe that you can love these sweet gourmands just as much as you can love the sophisticated, timeless classics. It’s all about enjoying life and expressing yourself however you desire. And fragrances are a great way to reflect a changing mood imo.

Whipped cream, sugar and strawberries. So heavenly. Lasting power in incredible for a spray mist also. Similar to Pink Sugar but I find this heavier and with a heavier sugar and fruit emphasis. Fades to a sugary creamy fruit. Love.

When you first spray on this sent, it’s not as nice smelling as you go throughout the day. As you wear this perfume it slowly fades into a really nice smelling product. It’s not overly sweet and reminds me of sugar cookies. the product has a sweet musky sent with pink jasmine and plum undertones I’ll admit, when I first sprayed it on, wasn’t too delighted with what I smelt, but as it slowly fades (it lasts a LONG time) it gets better and better. I really like this scent and I would definitely recommend to a lot of people. 🙂

One of my trade mark scents!!! I love it. Although when I went to BBW last, all they had was lotion and body wash in the Velvet Sugar, not the body spray. It has great longevity and it also has good sillage…I buy LOTS of this to have on hand but I recently ran out….this pairs great for me and my phermones and body chemistry with a beautiful perfume oil I discovered from Saudi Arabia called “Soft”—it smells a lot like Velvet Sugar and Pink Sugar and THAT also pairs perfectly with this scent….
I love this scent from BBW. I hope they never stop making it… if you like sweet scents with sugary, vanilla type top notes….I think you ll like Velvet Sugar 🙂

Just picked this up at my BBW and it smelled amazing in the bottle, like sugary fruit, but on my skin, it takes on a bit of an artificial note. So annoying when a scent doesn’t work with your body chemistry, argh. I really wanted to like it but it smells just weird on me. Hopefully I can exchange it for something else.

I just bought this stuff a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. It has great sillage and longevity and that’s important to me. I have the mist and lotion. I use both in the morning and then during the day I’ll touch up with the travel size body mist and I use the travel lotion as a hand lotion. I’ve gotten numerous compliments on this fragrance. I find this to be a milder sweet scent and not as heady as say Pink Sugar. This is very girly and feminine.
I originally bought the perfume and lotion but the perfume imo is kinda cumbersome to use and spray since it’s an atomizer. Honestly, the body mist and the lotion of this certainly suffices in terms of scent. It’s still late summer and I will be wearing this into fall. It’s a scent that can be worn all year around. I usually wear my scents by occasion and season. I’m thinking I might go with Dark Kiss when it gets colder.
I’m on a BBW kick. I’ve snubbed BBW as I gotten older thinking I’ve outgrown it. But they have some scents I really enjoy. More importantly, this cheap stuff LASTS on me! I’ve spent $$$$$$$$$$ on parfums and perfumes and I have to bathe in most of them for you to smell it.
This stuff is like a burst of sweet, girly, but not sickeningly sweet. It just smells good! This and apricot vanilla from BBW are my staples right now. I do not forsee myself shelling out more $$$ for a perfume for a while. When I walk by, I get “ohhh Britt you smell good, what is that ?!?!”. That is the type of reaction I want from a scent, not having to use over 15 sprays of a perfume that is way more costly just to get the same reaction.

First off, the packaging of this product is simply adorable! Love the color and lacey effect! This was one of my favorite fragrances, as I love either sugary/sweet or clean/fresh fragrances. This one is (obviously) a sugary/sweet scent. It starts out actually fruity, like apples and nectarines. Then, it becomes a duo of floral and sugary, like red velvet, freesia, and honeysuckle. Finally, it ends completely sugary, like caramel, vanilla, and strawberries and cream. I will admit, between the middle and the end, there is an awkward stage where it smells a bit like baby powder, but that quickly ends. Enjoy!
