Sex Kitten is incredible! It is a true black liquid liner that lets you create the most precise winged liner. I am thoroughly impressed and it’s been awhile since I’ve been excited about a product. I would recommend it 100% and will be repurchasing this!

I bought this eyeliner recently as part of a ‘gift with purchase’ and I am glad I did as I do enjoy using it as it’s very fine and pigmented. i am surprised to read other reviews saying it did not last, I found it to last very well on my eyes, event though I only do a very fine line it went on well and stayed on. I did not give it a higher review (despite the super cute kitten face) because of the price. Many better value eyeliners available that work just as well. But that does not make it a bad eyeliner at all.

Sex kitten seems to be a revamp of Tarte’s older Lights, Camera, Precision Liner. Same soft, slightly floppy felt tip, same weakly securing cap (although it has been replaced by a cutesy kitten face!!!), same fingertip resting texture and shape location… I believe this is supposed to be a longwear liner but it doesn’t perform very well in that area. It is very, very black. However this is not the best thing as it does not stay secured through the whole day at times.
This is worth trying if you find it on sale, but their are plenty of other, cheaper liners that work just as well. I do dislike that tarte claims some of their products to be preservative free. I would like any item I am placing near my eyes to be maintain in both chemical composition and safely resistant to bacteria. I would rate this at 3.5 lippies.

I’m extremely picky with eyeliner, but this a great eyeliner. The pigmentation is what I love most about it. The packaging is adorable, it is not waterproof but I don’t mind, and the price is average. I like it!

Super cute packaging but the product is a dud.
I love how soft the tip is and how easy it is thebapply the product. But If you’re looking for a waterproof eyeliner that stays on all day, this isn’t it. Although initially it looks amazing after you apply it, it smudges and disappears after a few hours. Don’t buy this if you have slightly oily eyelids.
Save your money and buy stila stay all day instead.

I absolutely love this eyeliner. It’s really hard for me to find a pigmented liner that doesn’t slide all over the place or fade unless it’s waterproof (making it next to impossible to remove). It’s even easy to make a cateye with this as well. HG!!!

This has been such a disappoiintment. I was in love with Tarte’s so fine micro liner and I couldn’t find it when I run out so I opted for it. It bleeds after only half a day. At the end of the day I look like a panda with this line smeared around my eyes. I will not repurchase it.

Black eyeliner is the only item that I wear every day, and I’ve tried many. My general opinion on pencil and gel eyeliners is that most high end products do not perform any better than drugstore. I have not bought a black pencil liner over $10 in a long time. I had been using gel eyeliner lately, which I greatly prefer to pencil for the longevity and intensity, but I don’t love the extra few minutes spent applying it, and sometimes the eye irritation. I wanted gel performance but something I could just swipe on in seconds for every day. Sex Kitten’s gel formula, promise of durability and the smudger on the end (I prefer my liner to not be too crisp and clean) grabbed me. I tried a couple of drugstore gel pencil formulas and they just didn’t hold up.
This goes on smooth like a gel. It is easy to apply, no dragging on the skin. I do need to go over the line several times to get the intensity just right, intermittent with the smudger. Some days it comes together for me with just as much time spent on it as a real gel rather than a regular pencil, so it’s not always a time saver.
In the winter, this held up as well as a gel throughout the day, when my other pencils were fading. As soon as slightly warmer weather hits, this smudges on me, and I actually get better performance from my cheap Revlon colorstay pencil. I can put the Revlon pencil on faster than this and they perform about the same. This pencil disappeared on me a few times by noon.
It is still a nice pencil, but unreliable for me and not always faster than real gel. I’ll use mine up, and would consider repurchasing if it were about half the price that it is. I found it to be a decent pencil, just not worth the cost, and not a replacement for gel liner other than in the dead of winter.
