Very pretty – I have brown eyes and south asian Indian skin tone. Blends well with a finger-very quick to use. Haven’t had to sharpen yet, hope I have a sharpener in my cache.

Re purchased this range x3! A record for me when there are so many eye shadow pencils out therr. But then again this is the queen of all eye shadows penicls. Easily applied precise and does not budge after a minute. Excellent!

This is a pencil that you sharpen, apply to the eyelid, and blend with your fingers in the few seconds before it sets to a budge-proof texture. The color does not move once it sets. The cap likes to pop off the end of the pencil (so it’s not the best option for trips), and you need a sharpener, unlike swivel-up cream shadow sticks from Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, or Kiko Cosmetics.
If I wear this all day without primer, the color does fade after a few hours from a shimmery golden brown to a lighter gold. The website claims this will last for 10 hours and I feel this is an exaggeration unless you use primer. With primer it’s good through an average workday. I use NARS Smudge Proof Eye Base or Urban Decay’s Primer Potion to prep the lids before wearing Amber Haze. With this regimen I do not experience creasing. Sometimes I apply a darker brown powder shadow over it and doing this further sets it.
It wears very well except for the tendency to fade slightly. I don’t recommend wearing heavy eye cream under the pencil. Ultimately, I still prefer the retractable cream shadow sticks. However, I’m glad I tried a Colour Chameleon and it is a gorgeous color. This was on my wish list for a long time. I really think Amber Haze is flattering to blue eyes despite the fact that it’s being marketed to brown eyes. I think this shade works with every eye color. I will certainly use it up.
I don’t recommend applying anything wet or emollient like eye cream under this because it can affect the wear.
If you already own Grind House from Urban Decay, that dual sharpener is the same as Tilbury’s except for the color and the logo. Both contain a standard size sharpener for slim pencils and a larger size to accommodate big pencils.
I wear contacts and whenever I tried to line my eyes with this, during the day it would migrate onto my lenses and blur my vision.
