For you ladies that have that mixed eye color that is not brown, not green and guess you would say hazel brown or hazel green, #45 Soft Thistle has become my favorite to bring out more of the green color. I would describe Soft Thistle as an orchid, dusty lilac with some shimmer. It applies easily, lasts really well and is not bright and distracting. Plus, I am allergic to violet, purple, burgundy products ( probably Red Dye) and this I can wear.

I absolutely recommend these – especially for travel. They go on quickly & blend with fingers or a brush. They last all day without budging. From the reviews, I see one complaint is that you have to sharpen. I agree that I wish they were twist up, but on the plus side, they do stay creamy & easy to apply.

I use the Café Au Lait as a primer to lock down my dull but neutralizing VDL Eye Book shadow (Earl Grey). A good, inexpensive workhorse that’s unremarkable but reliable.
EDIT. Too matte and claggy. I’ve upgraded to the Lise Watier shadow in a pot.

I love these shadow sticks! I own Beige and Taupe and I get a ton of use out of them. They are perfect for a one and done eye shadow look. They glide onto the lid easily and blend out beautifully. Most importantly, they last a long time. I have to wear a primer underneath but I have incredibly oily lids. Folks with drier lids would probably be fine without primer.
These cost $14 a piece, which I think is reasonable considering the competition. I haven’t used the Cavier Sticks from Laura Mercier or the Bobbi Brown cream shadow sticks but I have used the shadow sticks from the brand Mally. I can say that the Sephora brand blends just as well and lasts longer.
Overall, I highly recommend trying these out. The price is reasonable and Sephora has a decent color selection. I’m definitely planning on buying more of these!

Waterline Alert!
In regard to shade 14 Violet Shimmer – I thought that the colour of this eyeshadow stick was amazing so I had to buy it. I describe it as violet with a blue shift.
and wow! I love it! Let it dry for a few seconds and this stuff does not budge! This means that blending is difficult so I have to get a finger on it right away if I need to.
It was so nice that I tried it on the waterline. I dried my waterline with a q-tip as per usual. applied the liner and I tilted my head back for a few seconds to let it dry. and there ya go! It can also handle another layer on lids or waterline if you want.
Finally i think that I have found something that I can wear through thick and thin on the motorcycle.
But a problem with bullet-proof makeup is getting it off! An initial attack with micellar water helped alot as that can get in my eyes and not sting. I followed that with my usual cleansing oil and microfiber cloth and all is ok.
These crayons come in glitter, shimmer and matte finishes and have a reasonable price. They do need to be sharpened ensure that you have a sharpener to fit them (i use the sephora brand sharpener).

I LOVE these. I cannot say enough good things about them. They have a ton of colors, and I have many of them. I use a a cream shadow base under powder shadow always, and I reach for these very often. They go on very creamy without tugging on your lid too much, and they blend out very easily. They are definitely pigmented enough to wear on their own but they do make a great base. I really hope they don’t stop making these. My only critique would be that I wish they didn’t need to be sharpened, but they do sharpen without issues so I can forgive that. 😉

UPDATE: Ok, this is still a great product but I almost want to take off a lippie overall…definitely took a lippie off of the packaging. The lid does not stay on if this is thrown in a bag / purse and it made a mess. I had this in my airport liquid bag because it had all the makeup I was carrying on with me. So it was at least in a plastic ziploc bag. But the cap kept popping off no matter what I did and the soft tip of the pencil got smashed around everywhere. So this is not as secure and portable as I had hoped and portability was the whole reason I bought it 🙁
ORIGINAL: I discovered these when trying to look for a portable (not needing brush or fingers to apply) version of my beloved Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream eye shadows .At $14 these were much cheaper than the BB eye shadow sticks. Tho BB Long Wear Cream e/s last forever, but just in case it melted after a long hot day, I wanted this. They are dubbed a liner and a shadow, they are just jumbo cream eye shadow crayons. The have to be sharpened, so know that…I wish they were twist.
I bought this for a touch ups on the go. I love to use a skin colored shade on my lids with liner and mascara to brighten my deep set, maturing eyes, with genetic dark under eye circles. On my NW20 complexion, I use the shade Cafe Au Lait…it is called a nude matte. It has a slight taupe hint to it and comes closest to Bobbi Brown’s Malted cream e/s. I also looked at Secret Boudoir but that was really, really yellow similar to MAC’s Soft Ochre. I also tried another one, a matte, very pink shade, I think it was Pretty Little Thing, but that was P-I-N-K! The Taupe shade was pretty, but was too dark (but very neutral) for the look I was looking for. These seem to wear very well and have not irritated my lids. I have yet to test this on a really hot humid day though.
