This cleanser was recommended for people with sensitive skin, so, naturally, I wanted to love it! Unfortunately, my skin began burning within seconds of use. Now, my skin is beginning to turn red, feel tight, and irritating bumps are beginning to appear. I am so disappointed. I hope this doesn’t happen to others out there. Burning, bumps, and tightness are not a win in my book!

This is a very basic gel cream non foamy cleanser that is rinsed with water. I use it when my skin feels slightly irritated but wouldn’t cut it as my only cleanser.

I love this cleanser. It’s pretty basic and I like that it’s gentle and has no fragrance and it’s non-foaming. It works really well for me now that my skin is dryer and a bit sensitive from using tretinoin. Its kind of similar to the Cerave hydrating cleanser but I think this one is much better at actually cleansing and it doesn’t leave a film behind. The Cerave cleanser also seemed to irritate and sting my skin for some reason, and this one doesn’t. I never feel too dried out or right after using this. I wouldn’t call it emollient though and it definitely doesn’t have enough cleansing power to remove waterproof sunscreen and makeup so I did take off one star for that. However I always use a cleansing oil or balm to remove makeup before using a second cleanser anyway.
I’ve also heard this is very similar to the Glossier milky jelly but it’s a much better value for your money. If you love that cleanser I think this one would be worth a try.

This is the absolute best facial cleanser I’ve ever used. Lord knows I’ve gone through a ton. I have very sensitive, dry-to-very dry, acne prone skin. I also suffer with bad eczema. I see a dermatologist on a regular basis and none of the facial cleansers he’s ever recommended to me, especially Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser super impressed me at all. I was just on a constant journey trying different cleansers and hoping that I would eventually come across my holy grail one, eventually. And, I can finally say, this is it. I am prescribed topical meds for my skin conditions which does include Retin A (tretinoin). Anyone that’s on it definitely knows just how super harsh that stuff is to one’s facial skin barrier. This cleanser is compatible with Retin A. I can also use it around my eye area without any major discomfort or major irritation at all. Now, I did originally buy this product from CVS. The large bottle retails for $14.99. I have already ordered more of this stuff from off of Lovelyskin.com, and will continue to purchase such from there, because they do offer discounts regularly on stuff, plus they offer the option to go on auto-delivery, which is a major plus.
This cleanser has a silky, milky lotion texture to it. It glides across the skin so smoothly and it rinses away very easily as well. It leaves absolutely no film behind and it does make my skin even more drier than it already is at all. It’s a truly well formulated cleanser that even though it is marketed towards normal to dry skin individuals, it can truly be used by any skintype if one wishes.
There’s absolutely no scent to this cleanser at all. Now, I don’t use it for makeup removal. I use Garnier’s Micellar Water (with pink top) to remove my makeup on the days that I do happen to wear makeup. This cleanser is just the best thing ever created, and I will continue to use it for the rest of my life. I don’t plan to ever switch to regularly using anything else to cleanse my skin with. This is what I had been looking for, and I am truly beyond happy that I decided to give it a try. Hopefully more people will definitely choose to give it a try too!

This face wash lived up to the hydrating part of its name, but it definitely wasn’t gentle. Immediately upon using it, my skin started burning and flushing bright red. It’s marketed as being safe for those with sensitive skin, which I definitely have, so it was quite a disappointment.

For review purposes, I’ll be comparing this to Cerave hydrating cleanser. LRP is more of gel-cream texture and cerave is more creamy. LRP cleanses gently and washes off easily. I noticed that cerave would sometimes leave a film and I think it is more moisturizing than LRP. Both are close in price. I like both, but I think I like LRP more. I’ll have to use cerave again and see. If you didn’t like cerave, I think you would like LRP because it’s not as moisturizing. But it’s not drying by any means. Dry skin could use either. Makes a good morning cleanse or good as part of a second cleanse. I have zero complaints!

Update: I stopped using this a few months ago because I’m trying to follow a fungal acne safe routine and this does not fit the criteria. Also, as much as I tried to ignore it by moving through my routine VERY quickly, this low-key stings my face. It’s more obvious the longer it’s left on. I had the same thing happen with Cetaphil hydrating years ago. I’ve since switched to an FA safe gentle foam type of cleanser.
10/23/19: I was previously using Johnson’s Head-to-toe Baby Body Wash as a facial cleanser because I found it to be the least drying of the few foaming facial cleansers I’ve tried over the years (Olay Sensitive foaming, Simple Foaming for normal to oily skin, and CeraVe foaming for normal to oily skin.)
However, I recently started Differin (over the counter .1%) and my skin has needed more TLC. It was recommended to me that I switch from a foaming cleanser to a lotion type. I noticed that this cleanser had a higher rating on MUA versus Cetaphil Gentle or CeraVe Hydrating. I was pretty surprised that the price difference wasn’t that much between this and the Cerave. It’s about $15 for a pretty generously-sized (13.5 oz), easy to use, pump bottle.
As for the performance? It’s a pleasant lotion that foams up VERY slightly if you rub together with water. I don’t think it leaves a noticeable film on the skin, neither does it leave it squeaky clean, which I don’t want either. Overall though, I just think it’s pretty bland and inoffensive (and probably exactly what I need).
Note: because I started using this after Differin was drying my skin out like crazy, I can’t really comment on whether or not it’s more “softening” because my skin was already compromised. This cleanser helped my skin, along with moisturizer and cutting down on the frequency of Differen, from getting worse.

This is one of the cleansers I use regularly, at night as part of a double cleanse, and in the morning. It is very gentle, yet for double cleansing, unless the balm or oil I’m using is really thick or heavy, it works great. It reminds me a lot of the Paula’s Choice Resist Hydrating Cleanser – only with LRP, you get practically double the amount for much less money….the PC Cleanser is around $25, and this one is usually around $15.
Fragrance free, with a nice, creamy, elegant feeling formula. I like the pump bottle, it looks like an expensive product. I’ve had no issues with breakouts or irritation, it rinses cleanly and doesn’t leave a film behind. Easy to find at drugstores, and either Walmart or Target carries it….I think Target.

This is a very gentle cleanser which I alternate between the cervave moisturizing cleanser and the Lacure moisturizing cleanser. Of the three it is the most gentle and causes no irritation however it does not exfoliate as well as the Cervave. If I use the Cervave too many days in a row I get irritation so the La Roche-Posay is perfect to alternate it with. It is very unpleasant to get this in the eyes, though.
