I use this product with Spectro dry skin moisturizer as well, just as a note.
I’ve found these two products have been working very well to keep me from further breakouts + have been quite effective in fading my scars from past ones.
I use this as a second cleanser because I don’t find it super effective for washing off makeup (I use a Neutrogena one first, to remove eye and face makeup), but I do think this is gentle enough that it doesn’t affect my skin to wash it twice + it removes final traces. I don’t have highly sensitive skin but it is very dry. This doesn’t completely strip the moisture and it + the accompanying moisturizer + a secondary moisturizer has been effective at reaping the benefits of salicylic acid without ending up with flaky, flaky skin.
I bought one of the giant bottles for 3$ because it was close to code and have enjoyed using it for the past month or so as my nighttime cleanser.

I purchased the 500mL version of the cleanser when I started Accutane early this month under $13 at Wal-Mart. It comes in a large bottle with a pump dispenser that turns to lock. And I have to say that I like that there is no fuss to it. It gently cleans without leaving my skin feeling tight or dry, which is good since my skin is as dry as the desert at the moment, and it doesn’t cause any irritation. It does say that it’s fragrance-free, but there is some sort of strange smell to it (a bit like plastic like jwyl has mentioned) that may ward away some people, however I don’t particularly notice it when I’m washing my face.
For people who wear makeup, I would suggest to either cleanse twice or use some other product or method to get your makeup off first before going in with this (if you need to) because I don’t find this to be strong enough of a cleanser to get rid of long-wearing formulated makeup. I put on a long-wearing foundation when I went out for my brithday and it managed to stay put when I tried washing it off the first time, most likely because this cleanser doesn’t have a large amount of cleansing agents (which is a good thing for dry skinned users, but bad if you wear tons of makeup). But, if you rarely or never wear makeup (I only do on special occasions), you’ll find that this is good enough.
Overall, I’m very happy with this product and will continue to use it throughout the course of my Accutane treatment.

Love it! My favourite cleanser. I love the pump bottle and I usually buy it when it’s on sale for $9.99 CAD at shoppers. It’s super gentle and cleans effectively. If I’m wearing a lot of foundation, I usually cleanse twice just to be sure everything is off. I can also use this on my piercings and tattoos because it’s so gentle. I love that it is paraben and sulphate free, unlike Cetaphil or CeraVe. Never makes my skin itchy or inflammed which a lot of scented cleansers can do to my sensitive skin. If i were to develop blemishes, i would switch to the formula for blemish prone skin before i’d ever use another cleanser. my HG for sure.

Very good daily facial cleanser for folks with dry skin. Gets rid of excess dirt and oil while not drying out eczematous skin. It is not fragranced but has a plasticky smell which may put some people off.

I swear my this stuff! My HG cleanser definately! I use the Derm one for dry, sensitve skin and I’m not looking back. I like that it cleans my face thoroughly without drying it out and the face that it doesn’t irritate my skin. It also got rid of my mild/moderate acne! A lot of you on here have been complaining that it doesn’t remove makeup. I think it works great as a malke up remover. And I was using a thick foundation too!
Price: I bought the small bottle at $9 CAN at Shoppers, which is an amazing price, seeing that I was spending almost $30 before on my last cleanser. The larger bottle s only $15 CAN which isn’t bad either.
As for the packaging, the small one is a squeeze bottle, which I like a lot! I haven’t tried the pump one yet. Maybe I’ll buy one of those for the shower.
I will definately be repurchasing this and I hope it works for others as well as it’s worked for me. Also, my the matching Hydracare lotion, I love that product too!
