I really like this cleansing balm and it performs very well compared to more expensive balms. It is mostly (perhaps even all) natural, and the scent is incredible. The fragrance is all natural as far as I know, and it is a really beautiful, not overwhelming, scent of sweet florals and coconut. It reminds me of old school tanning oil, but not tacky or strong at all, just a beautiful tropical scent. The balm is quite a bit firmer than other balms, and takes some work to melt in. Personally, I like working it into my skin and giving my face and neck a nice massage. The balm also comes with a small cotton cloth, nice and soft, a little small but otherwise effective and better for then environment than microfiber cloths.

– Natural, organic, “clean” ingredients
– The amount of product, although not that much more than the smaller version of Farmacy’s makeup removing balm, lasted much longer. I think that’s due to the texture. Farmacy melts really quickly into an oil, while this one didn’t

– This brand isn’t readily available in most stores. I ordered online.
Other
– This isnt a con or pro for me…it ties into my point about it lasting longer and the next point about usage. Texture. The texture of this product is unlike most balms I’ve used (including Farmacy) that very quickly melt into an oil-like texture in your hands. This texture was best described as lard. Very very thick. It does melt (and quickly) in your hands. I think this might also be down to the ingredients (a pro since they’re all natural).
– The way this product is recommended to be used is to apply/massage this balm into your face and then, with a hot cloth/towel, remove. This was the best way I’ve found of using the product as well. I’d usually remove with a cotton pad, but stuck with the cloth/towel for the most part with this product. I found that to be quite labor-some compared to throw away cotton pads.
– The previous two points were what detracted me from buying this product again. It just boils down to it not being an enjoyable or simple usage unfortunately.

I bought this cleansing balm as i had read some pretty good reviews about it.
I use a lot of cleansing oils, but find they can be messy when it comes to splashing water
on your face during the removal process. I haven’t tried a lot of balms, but i do find the whole removal
process with a cloth less messy.
So when priceline had a sale on this product i had to give it a try.
I will compare this to clinique ‘s “Take the day off balm,” event though i quite like that balm, i still like to try others.
Trilogy’s” make up be gone balm” is a lot harder to work with. Not only does it feel like vaseline smeared all over my face, it is very hard to remove.
It does come with a small cloth, which is needed with this balm, or its not washing off with just water
like the clinque one does.
With a lot of rubbing, and double cleansing my skin did feel soft, but unfortunately not all the makeup is removed when followed up with a toner.
The balm also does not rinse off from the face washer, which means extra washing every time you use it.
It does have a scent, which i don’t mind, as its not on my skin long enough.
Overall not a bad cleanser, but i wouldn’t repurchase again, especially when Clinique’s balm works out cheaper and far more efficient at removing makeup.
I just wish more brands would bring out balms, as they are a lot more convenient.
For those who cannot justify spending the money of balms, but would like to try one, i suggest trying Ponds cold cream makeup remover, a very affordable option, that works just as good, if not better than Trilogy’s cleansing balm.

This IS a nice product, however not recommended for acne prone skin. I am sensitive/acne prone and my skin does not like balm cleansers, this is no exception, it broke me out. Definitely would be more suited for dry skin 🙂

I have combination skin and I wear a full face of makeup on most days. I use cleansing balms on dry skin to remove my makeup and then cleanse again with my Clarisonic. I refuse to use a separate eye makeup remover.
I was reluctant to try this because I’ve not had great luck with cleansing balms recently. This was very good and I would definitely recommend it. The packaging isn’t glamorous but it looks and feels like the rest of the line – however, it is plastic rather than glass so you can travel with it. When it is quite cold the balm is fairly solid but it melts quickly as soon as there is skin to skin contact so it spreads very easily you don’t spend two minutes melting it in your fingers. This has a very soft feel to it and massages in more like a very rich oil based cream that never soaks in rather than an oil. It was very very pleasant to use and it smells like a muted musky rose, which I love but, if you hate rose this may not be your cup of tea.
This successfully removed my full face of makeup plus two coats of Too Faced Better than Sex mascara plus UD All Nighter spray. It is thicker in texture than The Body Shop and Clinique makeup remover balms (my two favs) so you will definitely need a hot cloth to remove. I found this removed everything. In truth I didn’t expect it to take off my mascara and it was a pleasant surprise. The truly striking part of this balm is that it does not sting your eyes at all and it doesn’t produce the usual cloudy vision effect. I usually prefer balms that rinse clean and after using this my skin feels soft and nourished but I don’t detect a film at all so it hits a nice middle ground.
My jar came with a nice (but quite small) terry-like cloth. I want to send out a heartfelt thanks to Trilogy for not joining in the ridiculous muslin cloth bandwagon. I’ve thrown awaz dozens of them. They’re useless and scratchier than a regular face cloth – who is using those damn things?!
I hesitated to try this for months because I worried it wouldn’t take off eye makeup but it definitely does. I would recommend to anyone with dry – normal skin. And with a cloth this washes clean enough to be fine for combination skin as well. If you’re very oily then this could be unpleasant to work into your skin at the end of the day and you might prefer something thinner. I find this a bit too nourishing for a second or morning cleanse because I am spot prone and want to make sure any products/serums used after have the best chance of penetrating.
Price wise this is slightly more per ml than the Body Shop and Clinique versions but it also has a gentler, softer and more conditioning feel to it so I would happily spend a little extra for the treat of it or for use in winter when my skin is a bit drier. Definitely give it a go if you’re interested.

Doesn’t DRY out the skin, at all.
The SCENT. Oh it’s divine.
Effective at removing EYE MAKEUP.
Used in the evening routine to DOUBLE CLEANSE.
It’s just lovely, it really is.
(I warm it up in my hands for a few seconds. Then
apply all over my face. Cleanse for a bit. Then I use a warm/hot cotton towel to take it all off)

I love this stuff! The only thing I don’t like is that it has stained all my facecloths and does take a bit of washing. I actually use the washcloth once only and then throw it in a soaking bucket, which makes them all come out nice and clean. The cloth that comes with the balm is nice although I also use any cotton facecloth.
The balm itself smells divine and feels so luxurious to massage into my skin. It removes most of my eye makeup too, although I do have to use eye makeup remover first if I’m wearing more than usual. Sometimes I follow it with a refreshing toner.
