I just tried a sample packet of this facial cleanser & it was a very average cleanser! It’s like a cream to foaming cleanser! & its very similar to the Clinique pink rinse off foaming cleanser, except that this one is a couple of notches gentler than the Clinique one! Bc this cleanser has more gentler surfactants than the Clinique! But I would never spend $35 dollars on this cleanser Bc it too expensive for what’s it worth! Despite how they say it has probiotics & yogurt in it ! It’s all going down the drain! I know that probiotics are hot now in skincare ! & unless you have a more oiler skin type this cleanser would be drying on your skin Bc I have a pretty oily skin type & it left the drier parts of my face a bit dry ! & another thing to note is this has a very irritating preservative in it as pointed out by ms no b s beauty ! The positive part of this facial cleanser was that’s it’s completely fragrance free!

I received the full-size of this product in my monthly Boxycharm subscription box. I was so excited to try this cleanser because I have loved other Dr. Brandt Skincare products. I recognize this as a very high-end skincare brand that is a staple at Sephora and other large beauty retailers. This cleanser retails for $35 on the Dr. Brandt website and at Sephora. I would never considering dropping that kind of cash on a cleanser, so for that reason I would not purchase this alone. I also am interested in pre-biotic ingredients in skincare; it seems to be on the cutting-edge of skincare technology. I have been using this cleanser now twice a day for about a week. It has a smooth gel-like consistency and is green in color. This seems appropriate for a chlorophyll plant-based product. It has a neutral smell. After cleansing, my face feels smooth and hydrated. It doesn’t seem to dry out my skin like other cleansers I’ve used. My only issue is that it doesn’t lather up very well while cleansing. It will lather slightly, but it requires a bit of work. Personally, it’s important for my cleansers to lather up well because it makes me feel like it’s really cleaning my skin. This may not be an issue for others, just my personal preference. I haven’t used this cleanser to remove makeup (although it claims to do so). I always use makeup wipes to remove my makeup before cleansing to ensure total removal of the products. Overall, I am enjoying this cleanser.
Pros:
– doesn’t dry out skin
– good for sensitive skin
– natural, plant based ingredients
– gentle enough for daily use
Cons:
– doesn’t lather up well
– may not be strong enough to remove impurities for those with oily skin
– expensive

I was so excited to receive the Dr Brandt Clean Biotic pH Balanced Yogurt Cleanser with Chlorophyll in my Boxycharm box last month! I’ve been meaning to try more products from Dr Brandt, and this looked like a promising cleanser for drier skin. When my Boxycharm box came I opened this up and went right to the sink to use it. It was impressive how nicely this cleaned my skin, removed all my stubborn long wear makeup, and rinsed so cleanly without leaving my skin feeling dry.
Prebiotics are showing great promise in skincare. Especially for those that have a damaged heathly skin barrier or damaged acid mantle. I have been working to include pre and pro biotics in my skincare on a daily basis. I continued to use the Clean Biotic Cleanser for two weeks with no issues- just nice cleansing experiences. However, after reading the ingredients list I became concerned about on ingredient they included.
Methylisothiazolinone is an antimicrobial agent and used in many industrial capacities. It is also highly irritating and sensitizing for skin. I’ve seen this used to preserve many sunscreens but I haven’t seen it in a “clean” product. Thankfully this is a rinse off product, but I still prefer not to expose my skin to such an irritating ingredient on any level. It was almost heartbreaking to find a cleanser that worked so well with so little effort and then realize it contains such a toxic ingredient. My video review can be seen here: 0
