I miss the Sublime Essence with Iris from the Angelica line and suspect it has been discontinued.
The Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Essence is not a bad alternative, but not as soothing and mattifying though it has some of the latter effect. Personally I prefer to use it on TOP of my daily, light moisturizer (evenings and warm season). It gives immediately a soft, dewy light airbrushed and much sought after rosy glow look and diminish the apperance of pores.
It is suppose to go after toner, before moisturizer, but beaucause of it’s mica content and decent mattifying it goes on the top as said.
Cons:
Because of it’s somewhat sticky texture I tend to use a lot (from a 30 ml pump bottle) and i’ts quickly gone. I do not use it every day, so I’m fine with it.
It will probably last longer mixed with a light moisturizer or foundation/BB/CC cream.
UPDATE;
I just can’t help it – summertime and evenings this ‘serum’ suddenly happens to be in my possesion again. My feets just walk in to that store and my eyes spot it and my hands pay it almost without my knowlegde.
It’s just there in my bathroom – always. Wish it would come in a more masculine pump bottle though – it can not be on my shelf with that magenta colored bottle.
UPDATE II:
I’ve noticed a lot of synthetic/modyfied ingredients made their way into L’occitanes products, making the textures luxurious, but this brand is no longer worthy of being labeled as natural any longer and I’m fasing them all out (except this one if I can’t find a decent substitute) as I feel cheeted by them. Just to much glam and nice bottles now.
L’occitane must have been intoxicated by their success with the Divine range and gone £/$/€ blind.
R.I.P L’occtiane – may your greed be your demise.
