   I’m not sure you could get a PPD higher than the array Bioderma and other French manufacturers offer. This works well with my skin – dryer in the winter, oily t zone in the summer.

   I put it on, go get my coffee, put on my eye makeup, and then put on foundation and blush last. It sinks in by then, and doesn’t ball up under any foundation or BB cream I use.

   I would use this 2x a day, year round, if a bottle didn’t cost what it does. A 40 ml bottle – divided by the 2.5 ml you need to get 1/4 teaspoon twice a day – doesn’t last very long at all.

   I reserve it for super sunny days when I’m directly exposed and for after peels.

   I think dryer-skinned women may like this better.

   Higher PPD sunscreens have made a HUGE difference in my spots – fading after acne breakouts and sun spots. I rotate Bioderma sunscreens with Japanese and Korean PPD++++ sunscreens and my skin is now an NC 20, and it was an NC 25 about two years ago before I started. It’s a marked difference and I wish the FDA would allow the better European ingredients here.

   This is probably about as good as it gets for me afa protection, texture and not causing me to break out. I bought mine from FrenchCosmeticsForLess in April 2015.

   The box says UVA 38/SPF 50+

   It has 2 kinds of Tinosorbs plus chemical filters plus anti-inflammatories plus antioxidants. Doesnt sweat off during the day for me.

   It has a nice satin finish – not matte/not super shiny. I let it sit after applying over my C serum and I blot gently then put on some mineral makeup to give a more finished look. Its white in the tube but goes on sheer on my NC20 skin. Has no titanium or zinc so I think it would be sheer on darker skin as well.

   No fragrance, doesnt sting my eyes when I apply even on eyelids.

   $28.95 for 30 ml tube.

   Oh dear. This ss gives fantastic sun protection, is fragrance-free, and does not irritate. It is a white medium-consistency lotion that left no discernible white cast on my face. But it immediately made me so incredibly shiny, and no amount of blotting or powdering took away the incredible shine. I tried powdering multiple times, and NOTHING covered the shine! My face was about as shiny as a mylar balloon. However, I am a very oily and shiny person, so someone w/ less natural shine can probably use this no problem. I can use this on neck, chest, body, etc, but it is so darn shiny (and somewhat sticky) that I can’t stand to use it on my face even in my yard. Yick.

   This is great, but not for me. I got it at French Cosmetics For less, doesn’t say spot cream (some do on Amazon) and had an expiration date in 2017 and no mention of UV. It says Photoderm 50 SPF Laser Cream. and nothing about UV and had a yellow top. I have seen some on Amazon that say spot cream. EU changes rules and they reformulate and this stuff has a long shelf life so there are no doubt different version out there. It is sold in different countries, so they may make different formulations. I included the ingredients below.

   I think it rubs in quite matte and dries fast. The texture isn’t bad and thin, there is not much shine or white cast It feels soothing, even near the eye. It has licorice, no scent and is super stable, so it should hold up walking around if you don’t sweat or get wet. s. Of course you still have to use a lot and reapply. The thing about the texture is that it dries fast, its thin and dries matte. It made a great primer for makeup, but after a few hours I looked very caked and it showed my lines and my makeup had worn off badly. I felt dry too and wanted to wash it off. I have dry skin, so I take no stars off of the texture issues, but it’s a deal breaker. It might work better for me with a lotion underneath, but that be a lot of product. I was wearing a silicon based serum under. This would be much better for oily types. So I take no stars off for not liking the texture. Iprefer the Sensitive Lait – even though I have to apply it in layers and it looks thick under makeup, as it is hydrating. That is creamy, where the laser is more of a dry finish, which many will appreciate. . My other complaint is that you don’t get much for $25 – just 40 mil compared to 100 mil of the Photoderm Sensitive, which cost about $35 and that it has alcohol in it. So for the later reasons I took off a star, as they aren’t subjective. Still, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very effective, stable chemical spf that is gentle and doesn’t break you out and has a dry light finish. I hear it’s very effective.

   Fragrance-free formula.

   I’d been using Bioderma’s Photoderm MAX Cream SPF 50+ UVA 38 Creme for a couple of years and loved it. But when I saw this new formula, I jumped at it because it’s supposed to minimize the risk of increased pigmentation. Since I live in Phoenix and already have melasma and some sun damage, it sounded as though it was made for me. I’m not disappointed. I find it slightly less greasy than the Photoderm MAX Creme, and it applies easily on my dry skin (over Vitamin C serum)–I’ve had no problems with it balling up. It does leave a slight white cast, but I’m pretty pale, so it’s not a deal-breaker. I also haven’t had problems applying makeup over this. I do, however, put a paper towel over my face and blot gently ten minutes or so after applying the sunscreen and before applying makeup, and that does the trick. And I do think it gives excellent protection–I’ve noticed a slight lessening of my dark spots since I started using it about 6 weeks ago. I don’t know whether that’s from better sun protection or the product, though. This is absolutely the best facial sunscreen for my skin type I’ve ever used. It is pricey–$24 for 1 oz. (the tube is smaller than that of Photoderm MAX)–but it’s worth it to protect my face from the crazy desert sun. I’ve already ordered two more tubes.
