I’ve been having a very hard time with my hair recently, between tangles, hair breakage, and losing literal handfuls from stress, I was starting to feel hopeless. I had another favorite detangler but it was ridiculously hard to find, and after visiting my sixth store looking for it, I settled on this. I have always loved this brand and this particular line, something about it just works so well for me. The skincare is my favorite of all time, and I used to use the curl souffle from the haircare. I hadn’t seen this before but I’m so very glad I did. For reference, I have curly, wavy, and straight hair patterns with low porosity extremely long hair.
Pros: Detangles easily, medium slip, nice scent, easy to distribute with the spray nozzle, this brand is on sale regularly with coupons. Gave my hair hope as it goes through a very rough cycle.
Cons: Can weigh hair down if I add too much, but I figured it out after a few tries.

i was really bummed out when they repackaged my HG spray leave in (matrix total results 2 step moisture) i know they said it was just a new package but i feel the new stuff doesnt work as well as my old bottles did. i ran out and was pretty bummed out til i found this. bought it the first time simple bc it smelled delicious. like i wanted to taste it kind of delicious. seriously, it smells amazing. like a drink you have on a tropical beach. i’m sensitive to smells and most of the shea moisture lines make me nauseous but this one works for me.
i have repurchased a couple times and will probably continue to buy. my hair is heavily bleached/balayaged and i use mostly sulfate/silicone free products so my hair doesn’t have much slip from products. it is waist length, medium thickness, wavy/curly and dry from the bleach so the extra detangling and moisturizing qualities from this are a godsend. i spray this first then a small amount of paul mitchell super skinny serum through the ends (for the frizzies & the slip just bc i had it around at home and wanted to use it up rather than toss or store) then i put my hair in a bun for a cpl hours or let it air dry over night and my hair is good to go. i’m lazy, hate heat styling and this is great for my low maintenance hairstyle lol. the loose waves and curls are defined and the frizz is minimal.

I love this detangler, I use it before I braid my hair and before I put my hair up to prevent getting extra knots until I restyle it.

Edit: After using this for awhile now I’m not loving it as much. I think I liked it better initially because I had just had my hair cut so my hair was less prone to tangling anyway. Now that it’s been a couple months and my ends are drier, I could really use a good detangler, yet I don’t feel like this is helping much. I don’t really notice much difference whether I use it or not. So probably won’t repurchase.
I was looking for a good drugstore detangler and decided on this one because it was one of the only ones not loaded with silicones. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and it tangles easily even though I use conditioner. Using a detangler just makes it so much easier to comb through, but I can never find one I really like.
This one is excellent! It makes my hair easy to comb through and doesnt make my hair greasy or weighed down. Just smoothes out my hair and makes it look healthy. So glad I found this product, and less than $10.
Just an fyi… I found this in the baby/kids products aisle, not near the haircare.

I dont really care if this is for kids or not but i always use it on my hair. It is probably the most lightweight, best smelling, easy detangler ive ever used. Theres no such thing as overspraying with this product just because it is so light weight, it never weighs my hair down. I use this everyday, in the morning and before i go to bed, or if i need a little pick me up during the day. I brush it out with a wide tooth comb. I just spritz as much as i need all over my hair. It never leaves a sticky, or heavy residue, and doesnt create build up. It makes my hair super soft, and frizz free. My hair type is 2b/2c and is VERY thick and voluminous. Overall its amazing. Highly recommended

Smells GREAT and gives a nice shine. But me very careful not to use too much because it’ll leave hair greasy.

I decided to give this product a try when Sally Beauty Supply was having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on all Shea Moisture products. I initially bought this for my 5 year old who has hair that is always in tangles! The product smells great and works fabulously! I love the ingredients and I love the other products I tried from Shea Moisture as well. I wish I had tried their products sooner because I am loving every one of them! I use this detangler on myself as well and it gives a nice scent and shine to my hair. LOVE IT!
