I ended up purchasing a bunch of these right before Makeup Monsters rebranded to Menagerie! I think they were worth the purchase. One tube of lipstick is approximately $15. They had a beautiful range of colors from nudes to greens, blues, or pretty much any color one could ask for! While the color options are essentially endless, the consistency in formula varied. I found that the nude colors were very soft and were easily to apply and reapply after eating. The non-nude colors had to be applied in one layer because they were very dry and would flake if you applied more than one layer. Despite this, they did hold up fairly well regardless of what shade I wore. My only other notes are that the packaging is cute and the applicator was a bit odd (angled and had a hole in the middle), but nothing negative! I hope that as Menagerie these lipsticks will continue to be good quality. I will definitely repurchase lipsticks from them in the future.

These are my favorite liquid to matte lipsticks on the market. They’re not too drying, but they really do last all day. They make a range of colors, from every day wearable shades to weird or vampy shades, and every one is nice. My favorites are Bite Me, Sedona, Vintage Avenue, and Wolfsbane. They all feel comfortable all day and are pretty easy to remove as well.

Awww man …love the product but hate the color..I received my liquid lipstick in the color Victorian Velvet today. Packaging is top notch and super fast delivery. I looked at countless pictures, videos for a month and it is a flop. LOVE the product, consistency, staying power and way it feels. I wish they had better swatches on their website..Grrr…love the product but can’t seem to find my reddish brown lippie 🙁
EDIT** Even though the color is not my favorite, loveee this formula of this liquid lippie so much. The formula is really thin but one swipe and it is super pigmented.

I have five of these liquid lipsticks: “I Touch My Elf II” (a dark pine green with golden sparkles), “Darkness Prevails” (a straight black), “Surge” (a minty sea foam green – this one is a tiny bit streakier than the others), “Wipe Out” (a bright primary blue), and “Nefarious” (a warm purple that looks a bit darker on me than in the promo pictures).
I have the old packaging for two of the shades, which is a clear tube with white writing on the side and a green cap with little bats on it. I have the new packaging for three of the shades, which is a frosted tube with black writing on the side and a black cap with a bright green band at the bottom. To be honest I prefer the old packaging because it had an indie feel to it. The applicator reminds me of Sugarpill’s applicators – doe foot style with a small dip in the middle of the foot that can hold a tiny pool of product (so you don’t need to dip it back into the tube to get enough). The applicator is easy to use and isn’t too large, so you can get a crisp line without going in with a lip brush.
The formula is very thin and has a faint chemical scent, which fades away quickly upon application. It dries down quickly to a very matte finish. You need two layers to reach full opacity because the formula is slightly streaky, but this is not a problem so long as you apply the layers very thinly and straight away.
The longevity on the outer rim of the lips is good, and it doesn’t crack or ball up. However the product wears away very quickly on the inner rim of the lips just from saliva in the mouth. YMMV but it is an issue for me that I haven’t had with many other liquid lipsticks.
Overall I do like my MM liquid lipsticks, although they don’t last as long as I’d like them to. Darkness Prevails is a fantastic black and most of the shades are very pigmented. The only disappointment is I Touch My Elf II, which is a nice shade on its own but the golden sparkles that were hyped up during its promo are barely visible. I would recommend these as an alternative to the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks.

After seeing so many rave reviews of Makeup Monsters on YouTube, I was really excited to try them out. I ordered three colors and wasn’t very impressed with the formula. They applied opaquely and dried down fairly fast, but two of the colors started cracking in my lip lines shortly after application. The formula also settled into my lip lines and emphasized them to the point where it looked like I had the lips of someone in their 80s. This formula was one of the most drying I’ve experienced. It’s much drier on the lips than Kat Von D and even Lime Crime. It reminds me of Colourpop’s ultra matte formula. Even with a layer of lip balm underneath, I found these to be uncomfortable. The new applicator is thin, very flexible, and has a hole in the middle which makes it a little hard to use and control. MAC’s liquid lipstick has a similar teardrop-shaped applicator but it’s less flexible and is more spongy which makes it glide across the lips better. Two of the colors I ordered, Hook Line & Sinker and Bloody Valentine, weren’t transfer proof at all and bled significantly. I wouldn’t repurchase.

This is one of the trickier LL formulas I’ve ever used. I find that in order for it to stay even a little comfortable and not flake off, my normal routine doesn’t work. I usually exfoliate with a sugar scrub and apply a layer of Carmex, wait a few minutes and then wipe off before applying liquid lipstick, but that will NOT work with MM. I’ve got the shades Cornucopia and Blackened Heart. They apply smoothly (BH is a little streaky) and once they dry are very transfer resistant. However, they are very, very dry. Instead of using Carmex as I normally do, I have to use straight coconut oil to moisturize my lips; otherwise, I feel like a ran 5 miles in the Sahara. Once I started using coconut oil, they’re a dream! I wouldn’t recommend people with really dry lips, or someone new to LL get them, as there is a bit of trial and error involved.
Pros:
Nice color range
Long lasting formula
Transfer resistant
Cute packaging
Cons:
Very dry formula
Tricky to work with

I heard so many great things about Makeup Monsters liquid lipsticks. A lot of Youtubers and beauty bloggers were arving about the brand and this product. I haven’t used a lot of liquid lipsticks, so I can only compare to the ones that I have used, which is Lime Crime, Lat von D and Jeffree Star.
Anyway, a few weeks ago they came out with a new shade aclled Bewitched, which is supposed to be a duochrome colour. I am pretty sure it mentioned this in the product description, but since so many people have complained they seem to have changed their product details.
Anyway, I bought this liquid lipstick for around $16 on their official website and had to pay an additional $15 for international shipping. I was thinking of buying more, but I wasn’t sure whether I would like the brand or not so decided to just buy one for now. I arrived within 10 working days, which I was pleased with.
Before I use any liquid lipstick, I always exfoliate and moisturise my lips to make sure they are smooth. This liquid lipstick was not completely opaque and the application was streaky, which isn’t too much of a problem. I applied 2 layers, but I felt that it looked cakey. On top of that this lipstick dried completely matte. There was no duochrome effect or shimmer at all. I also noticed that when I touched my lips VERY lightly the liquid lipstick started crumbling off.
Overall, this product was a waste of money. Maybe it was the formula of this particular liquid lipstick. But I won’t be purchasing from them again in case their other listpicks are just as bad. It was a total waste of money and I’m not happy with it at all. If you want a good liquid lipstick try out Kat von D or Lime Crime.

My. Favorite.
It lasts pretty much all day, even on my very resistant skin (virtually nothing lasts “all day” on me — most things don’t even last 4 hours, no matter what they claim). When it does start to let go, it doesn’t crumble; it fades. I vastly prefer that, since I only wear very dark colors, where crumbling is obvious and hideous-looking, in addition to being hard to layer on top of.
It doesn’t dry the hell out of my lips. I don’t want to cry at the end of a few hours of having this on my face.
They are comfortable. I don’t feel like I have a layer of wall paint on my lips.
Also, look at that packaging. Seriously.
This is the only liquid lipstick I’ve tried that does all the stuff liquid lipsticks are supposed to do. It actually stays where you put it all day, and does not travel onto things you didn’t put it on. Bam.
They aren’t cheap, but they are worth it. And they’re not as expensive as some other brands that aren’t anywhere near as good.

I love this brand so much. So far in liquid lipsticks I have tried Lime Crime, Jeffree Star, Pretty Zombie, Colourpop and now Makeup Monsters, MM is my favourite by far
They come in so many amazing colours its unbelievable. They have heaps of beautiful nude/neutral shades as well as bright out there colours which is great for me because I love both
they only lost one point for price because I live in Australia so I have to pay a lot more, which is not really their fault at all. I’m hoping eventually there will be a new stockist in my country.
I have Vintage ave, Darkness Prevails, Cyclone, Jealousy, Tyranny and Backlash.
Vintage ave is the best it is very similar to JS Androgyny but a little less pinky toned. I wear it all the time. The staying power of these lipsticks is second to none. They are also the most comfortable of all my lipsticks. Extremely pigmented and it only takes one very thin coat to get the colour you need.

This is the best liquid lipstick brand I have ever tried. I only have one color, because they sell out of everything instantly when a restock happens, but it is my favorite lipstick out of everything I own. It is very liquid, and in order to apply it properly I do wipe off the excess product from the wand to ensure a very thin, even layer. It’s incredibly lightweight and I forget that I’m wearing it, which says a lot, given that you typically can expect a certain level of discomfort from matte liquid lipsticks.
If I can catch them fast enough during a restock, I will definitely be buying at least a few more of these.
