I bought this for $20 USD on S/Net. I would buy it again at that price. Maybe there’s a sucker born every minute but I would swear it makes my dry Irish skin feel smoother. I subscribe to the warm steamy facecloth routine and I simply adore the fragrance. Just lovely.

This cleanser is for people with very dry skin, and only those people. I know because I have normal skin and it didn’t work for me. The problem is that it is so soothing and so gentle that it does very little in the way of cleansing. It pumps out with the texture of a lightweight cream and sits lightly on the skin. It is not even remotely drying or stripping. That is kind of the problem, for me – there is no cleaning power at all and when I used it as a first cleanser, all of my make-up and sunscreen stayed on. As a second cleanser, it’s a bit better, but I still feel as though I might as well use nothing and get the same effect. I do think that if my skin were very dry, this would feel really nice as a second cleanser to restore some moisture after taking make-up off. It has some vitamin E in it, which contributes to the soothing effect, as well as rosewater, which lends it a soft rose petal scent. It’s very pleasant to use if it’s the right product for you. At $36, it’s a bit on the expensive side, but a little goes a long way, so the 200 ml bottle should last a while.

This is grossly overpriced for a very basic product. It wasn’t particularly effective at cleansing or removing light makeup. I prefer cetaphil over this. I just found this to be too creamy for it to be classified as a cleanser. Nice scent, great packaging, below average performance and a huge price tag. I recommend you try a travel set with this in it if you want to try. I’m not even sure if I would recommend this to dry skin types. I felt it smooshed stuff around on my face and added more than it took off.

I have used this cleanser (with the corresponding toner) for about 2 years. I work at a day spa that stocks Elemis amongst other brands and I just don’t think you can fault this for a good basic cream cleanser that gets the job done.
I use this twice a day; once in the morning to clean my skin and prepare it for make up and then again in the evening after removing my make up (I prefer to remove my make up with an oil-based cleanser). I remove it with dampened cotton wool pads which works well for me.
It has a delicate rose scent and a thick consistency. Skin feels thoroughly cleansed but never tight. At full price it is definitely a luxury skincare product (cleanser + toner = over £40).

This product is AMAZING!
hydrated my dry sensitive skin and made it feel silky soft with no irritation at all. would definitely buy again. Would also recommend the elemis hydrating toner to go with this product and maximum moisture cream.

I am in love with this cleanser. I have combination skin but I think this cleanser would work for any skin type. It goes on beautifully and massages well into the skin – not too creamy but not too thin – just right! It also smells lovely – Rose is a favourite of smell of mine.
There isn’t a product i dislike in the Elemis range and this is up there with the greats. Also its not tested on animals.
Price wise this is a high end product and the price reflects this but the good thing about Elemis is they are always doing offers in department stores so I’ve never actually paid full price for this as a stand alone product.
The ONLY negative thing I would say about this is that I do have to use the toner with it as some make up is still left on. This doesn’t bother me at all but some people wouldn’t like it.
