   I was introduced to Elemis a cruise, and gave in to the sales pitch to buy this cleanser and the matching moisturizer in a kit. I absolutely love this cleanser! I wear minimal makeup (mascara, mineral powder, blush) and it removes it all easily. However I’ve been keeping this in the shower and using in the AM since it’s supposed to be “energizing”. My skin feels great, and it only takes 2 pumps for me, max. I’ve actually had it for over a year now, and still have quite a bit left. Smells the same, and has the same consistency, so I guess it’s not too old! So it that sense the splurge wasn’t so bad.

   I mostly agree with the Cbarnes81 review posted below. Here is what I have to add.

   The good:
   – my husband commented on how nice my skin looks and feels after I start using this cleanser. I can totally see the difference this product made.
   – it doesn’t cause any breakouts or rosacea flares (I have rosacea prone very sensitive skin)

   The bad:
   – It has a terribly overpowering fragrance. To me, it smells like good dishwasher detergent, but stronger. I can feel it for at least two hours. Very disturbing.
   – Unusable for sensitive eyes. I can’t put this product anywhere close to my eyes, every time I try I cry for about 10 minutes (I guess it’s the fragrance again).

   At first, I gave it 2 stars and wrote that I will not repurchase, but while using it I’ve changed my mind. It has really made a visible difference in my skin. I use it one time a day 5-6 pumps, sometimes I double cleanse with it and use extra 3-4 pumps and I’m not even a halfway through. I wish I would have been scentless, in that case, I would have called it HG, but as it is now I’m looking forward to using something else once I finish this bottle.

   P.S. 03/27/2019 – After many failed attempts to find anything better I’m back to this cleanser. I don’t use it on my eyes and enjoy the difference it makes to my skin.

   Given the rave reviews, I was convinced I would love this product. I almost did not mind that this cost me just under £40! I wasn’t happy the first time I used it. It was pleasant to use and certainly gentle on the skin, but that was pretty much it. I thought I’d wait until I used it for a few more times in case I feel differently about it, but sadly, it still failed to impress me after a couple of weeks. Anyway, let me outline what I find good and not so good about it:

   The good:
   – I love the pump mechanism in clear plastic packaging. The thin plastic feels a bit cheap for a £40 cleanser, but I won’t make a big deal of it. It’s practical and it works!
   – I love that it feels very kind and non-stripping to the skin
   – I like the novelty of this oil-gel foaming cleanser. It reminds me of some organic shampoo in terms of consistency. In fact it smells like a gently fragranced shampoo!
   – You don’t need a lot of product to cleanse your skin. Having said this, contrary to instructions that say you need 2-3 pumps, I actually end up needing 5-6 pumps to get a good, rich lather. Having said that, whether you need 2 or 5 pumps for each cleanse, the bottle will still go a long way.

   The not so good:
   – It doesn’t cleanse so well. Certainly not eye makeup. I know this Elemis cleanser is not an eye makeup remover, but I have used plenty of cleansers that can remove some or most eye makeup, and cheaper ones too! I repeat cleanse with this product, and I still end up with semi panda eyes 🙁
   – My skin does not feel energised after use, and hasn’t seen much of a difference since. I know many other skin care products that are more energising as such, Origins GinZing, Kiehls Facial Fuel, and Murad’s Pomegranate Cleanser, to name a few.

   In short, a rather disappointing release from Elemis, following their Pro-Collagen range, which I have really enjoyed.

   I certainly won’t repurchase as there are many far better cleansers out there, even in the Elemis range.
