Great product for adding some luminosity to skin. I don’t use this as a moisturizer on its own, but as a light layer on top of moisturizer to add a touch of luminescence to my skin. This cream is a very light-textured cream that applied smoothly and evenly, and plays very nicely with all of the products I normally use from other companies. I especially like using this in the winter months, typically under very light makeup, because it does a really great job of brightening my skin and giving a glowy ‘lit from within’ appearance to my skin that I don’t feel the need to cover up. On its own, this wouldn’t be moisturizing enough (I only use it in winter, since I’m glowy enough in the warmer months from having oily skin), but I’m really liking it as an additional step in my skincare routine right now. I also bought this on sale, so it was around half the price (regular around $30 CAD). On the whole, I’m a pretty big fan of the Pixi line, everything I’ve tried has been great, and has delivered nice results. I would repurchase.

I would not recommend using this as a moisturizer all over the face. You would look like a disco ball and it would not provide enough hydration. I prefer to use it as a liquid highlighter. I apply it on the high points of the face. It adds a natural glow and the skin looks glossy. I also like to mix it in with my foundation to sheer it out and add a glow. I like the packaging. It pumps out easily. I do think it’s a bit pricey for what it is. I would buy again but only if I had a coupon or if it’s on sale. I could get a similar effect with l’oreal’s lumi magique primer for a lower price tag.

I recommend this product on the MUB constantly and, wonder of wonders, I am about to run out of it, so I figured it was review time. Pixi Glowtion Day Dew is an amazing cruelty free alternative to the original “pinklite” MAC strobe cream. It’s a bit lighter in consistency, maybe closer to the strobe lotion. It’s a lightweight priming moisturizer that makes an excellent illuminating base for makeup. It has a light pink pearl that blends out nicely– your face won’t look bizarrely pink with this on. I have dry skin and I find this isn’t really useful to hydrate, but it preps the skin well for makeup, so I’m very happy with the priming function. If you’re sensitive to lavender definitely avoid. I don’t believe there’s added fragrance so the soft botanical scent comes from the lavender oil itself.

Pixi refers to this product as an illuminating moisturizer but it could just as easily be an illuminating primer in my opinion. There are silicones in it, and the texture is kind of like Becca Backlight Priming Filter only not as tacky and this has a more subtle glow with a blurring effect. I prefer this to the Becca product. Pixi Glowation Day Dew contains lavender oil (calms), kaolin (purifies) and mica (brightens) which work really well together in this lightweight moisturizer/primer. I noticed a difference right away that my skin had a healthy natural glow and felt really nice, unlike the tacky weird shiny situation that the Becca product left me with. If you want intense glow, this will not give it to you but if you want to brighten and blur then you will probably like this. I love the squeeze tube with pump dispenser and secure cap (like on the H20 Skin Tint) which is great for travel. I am so happy we have Pixi products back in Canada, I’m still discovering them but pick up a couple new ones all the time and am really pleased with my picks so far.
