This is not matte by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s smoother application wise than the regular AM moisturizer and doesn’t pull. You also get less in the tube and I feel like you don’t apply as much due to the consistency.
I prefer the regular AM moisturizer and can apply with without the pilling if I’m careful.

Normally I use a mineral sunscreen (Australian Gold Tinted SPF is my HG) however I saw this in store and being fond of other CeraVe products thought I’d give this a try. Truth be told, the AG can be drying and I have a dry skin type which had me looking for something more moisturizing during the colder winter months. Also, a non-tinted sunscreen works better for me when I am at my palest. Despite the label saying for Normal to Oily skin, this works perfectly well for dry skin too. The moisturizer/SPF formula is in fact “ultra-light”, blends into the skin so easily and is cosmetically elegant under makeup. The only complaint I have is the pump mechanism is annoying at first, it takes somewhere in the neighborhood of being pressed 15-20 times before anything comes out on first use. Pump aside, this product is so good!

My favorite daily SPF. For years I’ve had a tough ride trying to find an appropriate SPF since many leave a white cast on my face or make it breakout. This one hydrates and prevents my marks from developing. It’s so cosmetically elegant! Smooth and liquidy, it leaves a softly radiant finish in the face without depending on mica to attain the look. I also like that it has many good for skin ingredients. It’s something I always look for. This product has blown pretty much every sunscreen on the market out there right out of the water. There’s no comparison to this one. And the price is excellent. You can find it cheaper online of course, but it also meets my needs on being easy to find just about anywhere since this is a major brand in any drugstore in the states. Bravo Cerave, I’m loyal for life to this.

I have aging combo skin that still breaks out easily. I have been searching my entire life for SPF that sits well under makeup, isn’t a shiny mess, and doesn’t break me out. This is my moisturizer and primer under my bareminerals matte foundation, and it works perfectly. My dermatologist recommended this. Makeup buffs on easily with no piling, and my makeup lasts all day. In the summer, I may have to blot at lunch. I will repurchase. The price is great too and easily found at Walmart or Amazon.

This is my second layer of moisturizing after using Cereve Moisturizing Cream. I recently had Fraxel Laser facial treatments and need serious moisture and SPF products. After a Fraxel treatment the skin is as dry as a bad sunburn and you need to apply moisture every few hours. Initially I was told to use coconut oil but it leaves too much oil on the surface which gets into my eyes and all over my glasses. Cereve Moisturizing Cream is much better. It is thick but absorbs instantly with no sheen left on the skin. For the SPF I use this light lotion since I have the heavier moisturizer underneath. This combination is perfect. My skin is not greasy feeling and I know I have the SPF and moisture I need. Compared to the “professional” products the place I go to for treatments sells and they gave me samples, Cereve products are as good and much, much cheaper.

YES!! This is the best everyday sunscreen- containing moisturizer at the drugstore. I’ve used Elta UV clear for years and finally found something to replace it. This is about as close to dupe to UV clear, but I happen to like this formula much better. UV clear tends to pill up. Having oily combination skin, it is tough to find a formula you enjoy using. This is so lightweight, sinks right into the skin, and layers over moisturizer if my skin is feeling dry. It also looks great under makeup and doesn’t get weird or breakup. As someone with acne prone skin this has neither stung or broken me out. The packaging is awesome too. All wins! Like some others this does not have a matte finish on me, BUT most importantly it does set and is not tacky or stick whatsoever. I wouldn’t say it’s shiny either it’s more of a natural finish. It’s not water resistance so make sure to use a different sunscreen if you’re going to be sweating or swimming. The only thing I would change about it is the SPF rating. While 30 is enough I wish it was just a tad higher. Other than that I can’t recommend this enough, I told all my friends to get it. I bought mine on amazon for around $12.

I really like this light weight moisturizer/sunscreen spf 30. I have combo skin, and this does not leave me shiny, oiler, pores more noticeable. I like this better than the am spf 30, it’s lighter. So glad I found this, love the Cerave line.

I think the last reviewer, Juno77 & I have similar skin types. After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give this a try, as am still desperately searching for a sunscreen that agrees with me. I am very prone to clogged pores, all of a sudden, and most products are a hit or miss. I had managed to clear most of my clogs, then within days of using this, I started feeling the texture of my skin is extremely bumpy once again….????

It doesn’t have a mate finish sadly, but it’s light and non greasy enough I don’t mind. It has a lotion consistency. I would apply makeup with a sponge only above this. My foundation didn’t look as smooth as usual when I buffed it in.
I wore it today for the first time and at the end of the day the sides of my nose were congested/clogged up. It wasn’t horrible, but I haven’t had that problem for a long time by now.
Also this played a number on my makeup, making it more slip and slidey, and textured than it usually is at the middle/end of the day. I blotted my face and applied powder foundation on top to touch up and that mostly camouflaged any issues.
Packaging is great, though I think sunscreens should always be AT LEAST 2 oz and this is 1.7 oz for around $17 at Wallgreens.
My HG is still Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Spf 30 chemical susncreen/PC for men spf 30.

FINALLY! I found a facial sunscreen that doesn’t either irritate or break me out! Tried so many for years, but nothing worked. I’ve come to the conclusion that waterproof or water resistant ingredients were the culprit for breakouts and certain chemical sunscreen combinations caused irritation. So, THIS ONE works for everyday protection. Physical sunscreens seem to be less irritating, but very drying. And every physical sunscreens I’ve tried were all waterproof/resistant that caused breakouts. Anyway, very excited to have found this. I’m pretty impressed with most of CeraVe products in general. This moisturizer/sunscreen is designed for normal to oily skin types, but I use another moisturizer on my drier cheeks first before using this and it works perfect for me! This is a definite keeper and I will continue to use. Please, CeraVe, don’t discontinue this gem for us who suffer from irritation and breakouts with our daily sun protection. I will continue to use Australian Gold tinted facial sunscreen spf 50 when I need waterproof protection. It irritates/breaks me out the least, but is very drying after 2 days of consecutive use. And I must use a heavy moisturizer underneath. Would recommend this CeraVe product highly!
