There are definitely some pros and cons to this serum- however in my opinion I think the pros outweigh the cons.
Pros:
-This serum contains Purslane extract. Purslane is basically the anti inflammatory and anti aging super hero extract. This is enriched with so many vitamins and minerals. It also triggers the telemerse in our skin, which accelerates collagen production. It is the superstar ingredient in Dr. Barbara Sturms skincare line, whose products retail in the $300 price range. This is only $60, which is still a bit pricey but definitely manageable compared to Dr. Sturm .
– The other fascinating ingredient is the Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15. This peptide will actually strength our skins sensitivity threshold which will prevent redness and reactions in the future. Again, Dr. Sturm’s clarifying serum has a similar ingredient, Albatrellus Ovinus extract, so you can say this is a “dupe” for that serum.
CONS:
-I do not hate dimethicone, despite popular opinion. I think it has great benefits especially for preventing trans epidermal water loss. However I do wish it was lower on the ingredients list.
-Essential oils can be extremely sensitizing, and I feel this serum could have done without them.
I personally have had great results to this serum. I was originally using the Dr. Sturm calming serum which I adore but that $250 price tag is just too expensive! I was worried I would never find a dupe for it until I saw THIS super cool product. Definitely worth a try
